Olde World Public house offering "Pug Grub" and a friendly welcome. Top rated Pub in town.
This little pub in the centre of Tewkesbury is so friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed a good pint of Butty Bach with the locals who were all chatty. Our dog was equally welcome. In fact so are rather large tortoises and we had the pleasure of the company of the local celebrity Sulkata tortoise Nancy Drew much to our amusement!

Would definitely give this place another visit. Nice setting, atmosphere and the staff are very attentive. Ordered the meatballs and pasta which were very tasty but unfortunately the pasta was cold by the time we started eating. Perhaps if the pasta were served in pasta bowls which were warmed first it might help? Not sure how long the pasta had been waiting but it had definitely been put onto cold plates. It was a real real shame as everything else was so lovely and, with regards what you are paying, you would hope it would be spot on. The pasta dish wasnt cheap. Did mention to our waitress. However, the desserts were great! Would definitely recommend the brownie (crumble was tasty but tricky to eat out of a mug). Really good puds. Will definitely give this place another try and tell family and friends about it. Worth it for the atmosphere and puds alone!Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the puddings and we are sorry that you felt the pasta was not hot enough for you. We hope to see you again soon!

We returned to this cafe after having previously had a good meal. The menu is quite varied and a couple of specials are offered,I opted for my usual full English and wifey had a prawn sandwich. Both were excellent quality and of a good size. One little niggle is that my plate was cold which does not help hot food. The two hard working staff needed some help as a few people came in after us an quite rapidly a wait for food developed. This was a shame as the two people were trying hard.Given that the food was so good we will be returning.

Currently staying in the nearby caravan site. This was my choice for my birthday dinner but as they are closed on a Monday we went Tuesday instead. We reserved a table but it wasn't terribly busy so probably didn't need to but it's not a huge place so it's probably safer to book. The restaurant itself is very cosy with original beams and a 'homely' feel. We had a choice of where we wanted to sit. Service was prompt and polite. We both had the fillet steak with stilton & pistachio sauce which was absolutely delicious! Everything was cooked to perfection. My husband asked for medium rare and I asked for medium....we got exactly what we asked for! It was a very generous plateful so was glad I didn't go for a starter, though I was sorely tempted. We did however have room for desert! Hubby had the creme brulee which he raved about, I had two scoops of the homemade icecream (various flavours available) which again was delicious. Overall an excellent dining experience and I would recommend anyone visiting Tewkesbury to dine there (I'm sure the locals know only too well how good it is!).

The Touching Souls Tea Room is a small tea room in the Visitor Centre at Tewkesbury Abbey. We serve home made Soup and a roll, freshly made sandwiches, home made cakes and hot and cold drinks.
We visited for afternoon tea one Sunday. The volunteers were friendly and helpful and there were a lot of them! The cafe was rather crowded and as a consequence of the wooden floors somewhat noisy. However we found a table without too much difficulty and the scone with jam and cream was goodThe cafe is only open for rather limited hours each day so it is worth checking before planning a visit.Cheque and cash payments only.Very competitive prices.

Wow we had chosen the hottest day of the year (or perhaps since records had been kept) to make our first visit to Crumpets. It is barely noticeable from the outside - just a very small frontage with a wisteria and a couple of tables and chairs for those wanting to stay in the sun. Lovely and cool inside and a surprisingly wide choice on the menu. There were many snacks but also on the Specials Board a red wine lamb pie and a Quiche Lorraine. We chose these two and also two salads for our companions. Coronation Chicken and Prawn Salad were very refreshing and substantial. We spent a very pleasant hour or more and reluctantly had to postpone sampling the delicious looking desserts board until a cooler occasion. All in all very enjoyable - so much so that we returned a week later bringing a neighbour for a mid week treat. Also very affordable.

We went to My Great Grandfarther's Restaurant yesterday evening, the only way to describe our experience was exceptional. Our server was very friendly, efficient and accommodating, likewise the cuisine, our starters and mains in ingredient quality, preparation and portion size were totally exceptional. We were so full after two courses, no one could manage a desert. We unfortunately do not live locally, if we did we would be regulars.Thank you for a great dinner, we will definitely return whenever in Tewkesbury.
