Find out what British restaurants to try in Sudbury. Sudbury is a historic market town in Suffolk, one of the largest counties of England in East Anglia. Sudbury itself is worth exploring on foot, a small family friendly town with a shopping area (mostly full of chain shops but with a few great local shops), and a few good bars and restaurants. Fans of art history will be pleased to discover the house of Thomas Gainsborough on the appropriately named Gainsborough Street at the bottom of Market Hill, and book lovers may be amused by the plaque at St Peter's Church which acknowledges the fact that the town was referenced in Dodie Smith's classic 101 Dalmations.

Having read the reviews we went to The Hare with high expectations and we were not disappointed. After a very warm welcome we sat down to eat lunch. My slow cooked skirt of beef was some of the best that I have tasted. My partner's belly of pork was equally good. The pub has a very pleasant and warm atmosphere, the staff are polite and helpful and obviously the chef and kitchen staff know what they are doing.

Went with a friend for breakfast on his recommendation. Amazing! Huge plate of food served piping hot to the table, fresh coffee and toast. This was not the biggest one either! If you want a proper Full English that literally sets you up for the day this is the place to eat. Staff are friendly and helpful. Recommended.

The perfect breakfast and lovely staff. Particularly generous "extras" (avocado, halloumi, etc.) and the coffee is strong and plentiful. Sit in the courtyard garden if there's room.

We have recently returned from an overnight stay at the Case Restaurant. It was a last minute booking based on other people's good reviews. We received a very warm welcome as we checked in to the ' Mulberry Room' the accommodation was compact, yet airy & comfortable with good storage space, everything that you might need, even a freshly delivered milk for coffee. The bath had a powerful shower overhead, nice toiletries, large towels, plentiful hot water. Our dinner was delicious, very fresh ingredients, each course prepared to order, cooked perfectly & beautifully presented. We chose the Ham hock terrine & Arancini to start, followed by grilled tuna with gnocchi & a sirloin steak. We both thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, but we're too full to be tempted by a third course. Our coffee was very good, made with a proper coffee machine, not these dreadful little pods that seem increasing popular these days. After a restful night's sleep, our breakfast was very tasty, the freshly squeezed orange juice was exceptionally good.We really enjoyed our short yet relaxing stay at the Case Restaurant with rooms, the owners are genuinely welcoming lovely people, who clearly know exactly how to run a restaurant that serves excellent food with comfortable accommodation & a good atmosphere.I would not hesitate to recommend the Case Restaurant with rooms, having found it, I hope that we will book another stay before too long. Our thanks to all concerned.

A good fish and chip restaurant in the centre of Sudbury
I am a regular visitor of the Codfather in Sudbury, and I love their chips, there is no competition anywhere near!! I even visited Aldeborough famous fish and chip shop and they were not a patch on the Codfather!! BUT..... I have recently discovered the Codfatherâs Greek Salad!! OMG Iâm addicted!! The staff are brilliant, friendly and welcoming and their team of waitresses are very professional without being OTT, just nice and relaxed without seeming rushed or harassed. Try the Greek Salad, maybe with some grilled fish if you want something more filling, you wonât be disappointed!!

This is a child free zone, and despite the fact that we like well behaved children, it makes for a relaxed time while eating breakfast, lunch or brunch. Newspapers available along with many cookery books to pursue while waiting if you don't want to chat with your companions. Food is very good and well presented - absolutely delicious.
