Everything here is deep fried. Even the pizza. Frankly speaking, the quality of the products seems good, and there was absolutely no bad smell. But to fry a pizza is a deadly sin!We didn't eat here, because it's not our taste. But if you like fried food, it's your place.

We stayed in the hotel (group of four) for two nights. The staff were all so very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was perfect, atmospheric, varied menu and the carvery was faultless. The bar once again faultless and the bar staff warm, chatty and friendly. Our two nights were over too quick to enjoy the hotel to its full. Thanks to all the lovely staff for our wonderful stay

Good restaurant which we ate at since we were staying in the hotel that the Eleven is in but can be very busy and noisy since it is open to the public as well as the people staying at the hotel. So if you are looking for a nice quiet candlelit place to go, it is not to be found here. However the choice of food is excellent, well prepared and covers most discerning tastes I would imagine. The staff are very helpful and friendly, but as with all hotel restaurants the drinks are not cheap!!

Visited for family birthday.Good service, lovely food, nice environment. My only criticism is starter portion sizes too big so spoiled enjoyment of main meal and no room for desert

Went on a Sunday which was probably our biggest mistake as it was clearly the regular chefâs day off!! Very poor quantity & quality with 5 attempts to get us edible starter. First were cold then haggis was rock solid....We decided then to have an appropriate Eaton mess for dessert & cut our lossesThere was no charge for the poor starters but still left us decidedly unhappy

It's rare to be in a new town and fall upon exactly what you hoped would be waiting for you for lunch! The bar served excellent local beer. The restaurant - with a spectacular view of the harbour - was spacious and well-patronised by local people and visitors of all ages. All the staff were young and charming, welcoming and professional. We started with local mussels - probably the best we have ever eaten anywhere including at home! Followed by a large helping of delicious local haggis, black pudding and chips. A cup of really good coffee rounded off a very special meal.

We rushed off the ferry to have a bite before closing and found the HS-1 on Trip Advisor. My Mrs had a burger and I had the mussels in white wine. Dear God, I could have dived in and swum in that sauce, it was absolutely delicious! This is a nice little place for a bite, but wow, those mussels!!!

Due to bad weather and cancelled ferries the opportunity arose to visit The Boatshed not once, but twice at the end of our Lewis holiday. It's classic styling is very comfortable, and the fact it's casual makes it a winner for us. The locally sourced food was delicious on both nights and the ambiance makes it a pleasure to stay and have relaxed meal. The staff are friendly and helpful, a special thanks to Richard who was especially excellent and was everything a great waiter should be. We look forward to another holiday here and being able to go back.

This is a serious food destination. Magnificent fresh fish and shellfish, served in a delightful dining room. There is a small bar near the entry door, where we enjoyed pre-dinner drinks. Banquette seating in the dining area wa scomfortable and intimate. The food was excellent; fresh scallops, firm fresh turbot and a wodnerfaul haunch of venison typified the offerings. So good that we did it two nights running, just to savour the range of food available.
