A couple of days ago a few friends and I decided to pass a damp afternoon by going out for lunch. We decided on the Gargunnock Inn and were not disappointed. A little bit out of the way off the Dumbarton Road from Stirling, the Inn is a real âolde worlde â type pub restaurant with a small but interesting menu. My fish and chips was delicious and others claimed that the steak & ale pie was up with the best. Apple crumble and ice cream to follow was superb and plentiful. Service by waitress was also quick, efficient and friendly. None of the seven of us went home even remotely hungry! I am sure we will be back before long.

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner there last night. Shame it was so quiet as it is without doubt amongst the best restaurant food in Stirling. Beautifully presented, first class ingredients and our waiter was lovely. We shared the fish platter to start. I had the aubergine and Parmesan bake and my husband had the pork belly with haggis - all delicious and if Iâm honest extremely cheap for the quality. Weâve paid double for a lot less in our hometown of Aberdeen. I can highly recommend and hopefully will be back many times in the future now our daughter has just joined the University in Stirling. Thank you for a great evening.

an excellent restaurant great food good wine and a very good atmosphere . but beware there is a service charge on your billThanks for the excellent review Derek. Just so you know - the service charge is only added to tables of six or more and is discretionary. It does mention this on our website and in the menus too. Sorry for any confusion.Rob

Taigh a Ghobha - The Smithy - has ceased trading as a licensed cafe/restaurant due to owner retiring.
Been twice now and loved it both times. Food is so fresh and tasty. Parking can be a little tricky so take that into account. But its just down from the castle or up from shopping centre so if you can't get outside, you can walk! Well worth it

We opted to sit outside in the beer garden. Beautiful countryside view with clothes blowing in tind on a clothes line. Dogs were allowed and enjoyed watching some Border Collies play. We had local tap beer, and a wonderful soft baked cheeze appitizer, my husband had roast beef and potatoes which I shared as it was a large portion. The root vegetables were very good, as was my local style salad. Would love to return.

Our second visit to the Gallery.Last time the food was excellent, though the service was informal and unsupervised. This time the food was abysmal, but the servers were clearly being advised and encouraged by supervisors.I guess it is hit and miss, but whatever the quality, it is good value (especially if you have wine), and this time we felt happy to be doing a civic service! It is wonderful for these young people to have the opportunity to serve genuine customers. We will definitely go again. Welcoming, friendly and attentive staff in ambient surroundings. On our most recent visit we were visiting with friends for Sunday Lunch (13.00) - disappointingly and strangely two (out of three|) main courses offered as daily specials were no longer available? The food we ordered was however tasty and well presented. Would still recommend this restaurant.

Broomhall Castle Restaurant is situated within Broomhall Castle Hotel and is open 7 days a week to the public and residents alike for evening meals. All our food is freshly prepared and all cooked in house by our team of chefs
Bed linen was beautifully clean and crisp. Beautiful old property which has been refurbished. Located about 3 miles from Stirling so a car is really essential. Lots of free parking on site.Full Scottish breakfast of a high standard was included in the price.Staff were very friendly and helpful.Unlike a number of old properties we have stayed in it was kept warm at all times. There were a few cobwebs which housekeeping need to attend to but nothing to concern us.Overall impressed and we will visit again.
