Absolutely no issues with staying at the stars above flat. It was very clean, it had quality fitments and lovely views from the skylights. The owner greeted us with scones and jam which was a nice touch. Hinderwell is about 9 miles from Whitby and other coastal villages so is an ideal place to stay. There are two pubs in the village but one is closed on Monday and Tuesday and the other is a bit grotty. The head room in the flat is low in places and I hit my head a few times, so if youâre tall, beware. That said we loved staying here and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

A belated birthday meal for the 3 of us whilst away on an Easter weeks holiday. The food was absolutely superb! I had the monkfish skewers and my husband had the beef brisket! Both so fresh and delicious. Real homemade chicken nuggets went down a treat with our 9 year old. All of us had the homemade chips (the best Iâve had in a very long time). Desserts were fab, choc brownie with ice cream, lemon crunch and 2 types of Roxby jersey ice cream. A really welcoming atmosphere made it a really enjoyable evening so much so we have booked to go back!

The Ellerby is open from 12 noon until 9pm every day. Our fayre is mainly standard traditional food done really well. Our steak pie, in particular, is a customer favourite and definitely worth trying. We have a lovely setting, provide great service, make
Enjoyed a two course meal here for our wedding anniversary. Very friendly welcome and service was excellent throughout. We both had halloumi and beetroot starter which was ok but no more. Steak pie main was huge and my wife really enjoyed it, I had a steak which was perfectly cooked rare but was lacking a bit in flavour, while the pepper sauce tasted a bit vinegary. Overall ok and we would go back, but a little underwhelming - probably 3.5 stars rather than a 3.Hi crt1971Thanks for your feedback. We'll take it on board and have a look at the pepper sauce. The steaks are from a local award winning butchers and I was surprised to read your thoughts as we so rarely have any negative feedback on them. However, I hope you mentioned it at the time as we would have addressed it properly and immediately in the kitchen and with you. A positive opportunity, for you and us, is lost when we find out things on Trip Advisor after the event.I'm glad you liked(?) the starters, your wife enjoyed the huge steak pie and your steak was perfectly cooked with fantastic service throughout. All in all, it doesn't sound too bad at all.We look forward to welcoming you back.

New management team from September 2018 welcoming all in our relaxed country pub, with great locally sourced produce on our menu from business partners such as R Lyth & Son Butcher, who provides fantastic quality meats we feel proud to serve in our restau
This place is a gem. We couldnât eat there on the Saturday evening as they were fully booked but, even though they donât take bookings for the bar area as they couldnât accommodate Saturday, they booked us a table for Sunday lunch. Two really lovely guys run the place, made to feel so welcome, fuss made of my dog (with biscuits) and a freshly cooked Sunday lunch. If I lived nearby, Iâd be there weekly. Thank you, we will be back. Andrea and Bronte.

Hubby and I rang up to see if there were any last minute vacancies last night while we were in the village. Very pleasant lady said yes and we checked in five minutes later. Very friendly welcome - such polite staff. Nice to see the waitresses had their hair tied back-very neat! Lovely room (room 9). Excellent evening meal - fish and chips and a small parmo and chips. Highly recommend this place is tried.

This is our favourite pub in Staithes, and we'd love to review it :) We have just completed our 2 new en-suite rooms with tea & coffee facilities & wake up to a full English breakfast
Stayed here for several days and ate here twice and other beer visits whilst staying in Staithes. Food is excellent especially the hot chilli - a proper chilli with heat, slightly larger if having the homemade chips over the rice option. The homemade steak pie was simply awesome with quality meat and nice pastry top, as a suggestion the single slice of garlic bread could do with being larger or two of them with the chilli. Decent sized meals, friendly service. Get v busy even off season on a Saturday.
