Great Fosters offers one of the most beautiful locations for afternoon tea in Surrey. Indulge in the most English of traditions whilst enjoying the view over the hotel's 50 acres of gardens or in the winter months sink into a comfortable sofa in front of
We booked afternoon tea for my Moms birthday and it was a very disappointing experience and most definitely the worst service at afternoon tea that I've ever had. My sister booked dairy free for hers but they claimed to know nothing about it when we got there. Rather than sorting it out efficiently, they made a big fuss about it and said they couldn't do any sandwiches so she needed to order off the main sandwich menu! This whole thing took a lot of time so we were left with our afternoon tea for a good 30 mins while they sorted hers out. It made the whole thing really awkward for my sister who didn't want to make a fuss. I spoke to the manager who just kept repeating that they hadnt received the request for dairy free and so it wasnt their fault. Eventually he agreed to give my sister her afternoon tea free but then charged her for a sandwich! Apart from that, we waited ages to be offered any drinks and the service was overall very poor. I definitely won't be returning despite the hotel and gardens being beautiful.Dear Lovetravelling2345Thank you for your review. I am very sorry about the experience you have had. We are taking any dietary requests and needs incredibly serious and are able to cater for them and do our utmost to accommodate last minute changes. Please do feel free to contact me directly so I may look into the bookings. With kind regardsSandra MuellerGeneral Manager

Our eclectic menu, striking a delicious balance of traditional and modern flavours, offers a wealth of choice throughout the day. Choose from a classic steak and ale pie, made with prize-winning London Pride, or opt for world cuisine in the form of spiced

At The Two Rivers Harvester in Staines food is fresh, full of flavour and just how you like it. Choose your tasty grill, sauce and side at our restaurant and we'll get cooking - while you head off to the famous Harvester salad bar to grab as much crisp, f
I visited this Harvester restaurant with my daughter. Our waitress, Tabby was amazing. She was efficient, friendly and chatty despite being rushed off her feet. The food was better than most Harvesters I have visited. Not sure why but credit to Ashley, the chef. The chicken (half roast) was delicious. Presentation was fab for all courses. We had Nacos to start, half roast chicken and a coffee/ mini blackcurrant mousse. The salad bar was super ... clean and fresh. Couldn't fault it and we will visit this Harvester again! Sadly some others just don't cut it with regards to service.Penny S, thank you for your kind review; we are happy to pass along your comments to the team here at The Two Rivers!

The Lock Bar & Kitchen located on the banks of the River Thames right beside the 'Bell Weir Lock' offers a sense of occasion without pretence, in a relaxed and informal setting, perfect to enjoy with friends and family. Expect home style cooking with dish
The staff here are fantastic, so attentive and nothing is to much trouble, we came for lunch and had beetroot salads starter, fish and chips and salted caramel tart with praline macaroon. They do a wonderful elderflower with mint, lemon and lime drink which Is so refreshing. Food here is always good with a lovely environment right on the Thames.Thank you for your great review of the Runnymede on Thames. I am pleased that you found the team fantastic, the service great and the food and environment good.We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.Kind regardsCraig SpencerResident / Guest Relations Manager

We had a table for 2 booked for my birthday. We had checked the Tripadvisor reviews prior to booking and they were mostly positive, so we had reasonably high expectations. On arrival the place was by no means busy and we got our table straight away. We were given the menus and our order was taken. The starters came and they were very good and thus far we had ro reason to complain. Had they continued in this vain, we would have had no cause for complaint. But they didnt! Our mains were both steaks. Mine cooked medium with chips and my other half was very well done with sweet potato fries. We specifically exphasised the VERY WELL DONE as she hates anything that looks remotely bloody. Both steaks arrived with normal chips and we pointed out one was supposed to be with sweet potato fries, so they took it away again. A few mins later it came back with the correct fries. When my other half cut into the steak, it was cooked medium at best, so it went back again. All this time, I was eating mine otherwise it would have gone cold. By the time the steak was returned, I had nearly finished mine. After we had both finished our mains, we ordered desserts. We waited about 15 minutes and they still hadnt arrived so we called the waiter over and cancelled the desserts and asked for the bill. To be fair, the waiter knew they hadnt done a good job and reduced our bill significantly as a gesture of good will. We hadn't asked for this, it was his doing so this showed us that they at least acknowledged they had under performed and is the only reason we may in the future give them another go. All in all, not the birthday meal we expected, especially given that we didnt feel we even ate together. The missus felt that the mains were on par with what she would cook at home and didn't feel the quality was there. I thought it tasted OK though but the plates could be garnished up a little, it just looked a bit bland. The staff blamed it on the head chef being off but this isnt really good enough. I would suggest that the staff also keep an eye on the guests tables and if they see an empty glass, just ask if the guest would like another drink. I didnt like having to wait and try and flag a waitress down to get another drink.Would we go back? Probably, just to give them the benefit of the doubt but we wont rush.Hi Toully,Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review from your recent visit. Please accept my apologies for a disappointing experience. I have spoken with team working on that Saturday evening shift to ensure everyone takes the time to read an order back to the guests to make sure everything going through to the kitchen is correct so all food leaving the kitchen is as it was ordered and the team are all aware of all guests and if they need anything else.It is pleasing to hear we acknowledged the issue and there is a chance of a return visit to show you our usual high standards.Kind regards,Dan & The Retreat Team

At Leftbank there are stunning views of the River Thames from wherever you're dining. Linger over gorgeous seasonal food all freshly cooked and served buffet-style so you can help yourself to a little bit of this, a lot of that...you can tuck into three,
Excellent setting and service. Visited for family birthday. Thought buffet style would be great for variety of tastes but disappointed that there was no plain meat e.g. ham or prawns on the starters buffet. Everything was in sauce or a dressing which didn't suit our fussy eaters. Also the beef main was smothered in a mustard coating. Good if you like "made up" food and excellent veggie options. If you prefer plain meats and fish not ideal. Quite expensive for children who eat little, £16 per child.Thank you for your review of the Leftbank Restaurant at the Runnymede on Thames. I am sorry that you were disappointed in the starter buffet but enjoyed the excellent veggie options. Our starters usually receive very high praise and even âfussy eatersâ normally find something to their liking. We do conduct regular market research and find our prices competitive within the 4* hotel market in the area. My apologies if this was not your perception. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.Kind regardsCraig SpencerResident / Guest Relations Manager

First awarded a Michelin star in October 2016 & 4 rosettes by The AA in 2018, The Tudor Room is a richly decorated dining room, boasting silk lined walls and a dominant seventeenth century tapestry. With just 8 tables, The Tudor Room offers a tasting menu
Having stayed at the property before many years ago we booked a special package for D,B&B for my husbands Birthday & Our Anniversary. The Tudor room wasnât available previously and as weâre keen foodies we really wanted to give this place a try. The whole experience was wonderful, we started in the bar with G&Tâs and were escorted through to the beautiful room, where thankfully the decoration has not been modernised like other parts of the hotel. The menu is a seven course taster menu where you get an option on a number of courses and we were very happy with the choices (sometimes with taster menus this is not the case). What is good is that the restaurant offers ½ bottles of wine which as I only drink White and my Husband loves Red meant we could each indulge without worrying about having to finish the whole bottle. Not once did we have to fill up our own glasses and our water glasses were topped up continually throughout the evening. Each dish was explained as it was presented to us, the service and food was exceptional. The highlight of our stay.Dear Boho1979Thank you for your review and congratulations on your birthday and anniversary! I am delighted that you thoroughly enjoyed your meal and the experience overall. I loo forward welcoming you back soon again. With kind regardsSandra MuellerGeneral Manager

Known as one of the best Staines traditional pubs in the area, we are set in the heart of the picturesque, historic village of Church Street, Staines Upon Thames. The Bells pub in Staines is a hidden gem, plus being a stone throw away from the River Thame
Visited here for Sunday lunch, we were late and the kitchen closed in 10 minutes, but the staff were overly friendly, got us seated and promptly took our order for two Roast Beef Dinners. The food arrived promptly, large portions and a nice helping of meat. We asked for a couple of sauces and extra gravy, all of which arrived promptly. The food was super tasty, great roast potatoes and we were asked by numerous different people, if everything was ok. We didnât have room for dessert but were very impressed with the quality of food and service. Great pub, and we will definetly visit again if in the area.

We re-opened the Three Horseshoes back in 2009 and haven't looked back since! A mixture of old and new, the Three Horseshoes Laleham is now enjoying life sitting well and truly at the top of its community. We have created a smart and comfortable pub with
We wre a party of four, and were impressed with the overall finish of the place. Interesting menu and pleasant staff but the place does get very busy even midweek lunch time so booking is strongly advised.Three of or party really like the food, unfortunately one was not so happy saying the squid was rubbery and the bubble & squeak on the mains was bland.

We visited Stovell's for a wedding anniversary celebration following a recommendation. The whole evening was a joy(!) from being greeted upon arrival, having a drink at the bar, being seated, served and dined. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. Service was exemplary! Both the ambiance and environment were lovely and well suited for a wonderful fine-dining experience!Food wise, we ordered a selection of starters (crab and octopus to name but two) from the a la carte menu and were not disappointed. For mains, we opted for the beef wellington (comes with a customised twist!) and the lobster - both were very well presented and full of flavour with wonderful texture. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening/dining experience and would not hesitate in recommending Stovell's to our friends and family. We will definitely be back!
