Managed to book an early table at the last minute on Saturday evening. The place was fully booked otherwise with a couple of large groups. This was my first time here. There is a large car park at the rear which is easy to access. Lovely cosy interior. Heavy wood furniture and old world charm. Nice fire in the bar inglenook fireplace. Extremely friendly efficient staff. Well done to the management team. Easy menu. Approx 7 starters, 10 mains and 7 desserts to choose from. Ordered the sirloin steak and the lamb. Nicely presented, didnât wait long for the food. Would definitely come again. Thank you for your great review, delighted you both enjoyed your meal here.Pleased to hear you weren't kept waiting too long, can often be challenging with larger groups if they are not on time.We look forward to serving you again at some point in the future.

Booked table for 4. Great choice of beers, perfect condition. Staff very polite and attentive. Very busy, but didnât have to wait long for our food. Starters very pleasant, especially the warm Scotch eggs. Main meals extremely disappointing. None of us finished our meals (a first for me!).Hi Chris, thank you for sharing your positive feedback with us regarding our wonderful staff, our beers and our scotch eggs. We are, however, very sorry to hear that your main meals clearly fell short of what you would expect from us, however, due to the lack of further information it is difficult to comment further. Please feel free to contact us again to discuss your experience, we would appreciate it.

Elegant 17th Century Inn located in a very peaceful location in one of the most beautiful villages in the West Country. Hinton St George is set in stunning rolling, typically English countryside on the borders of Somerset, Devon & Dorset. The Lord Poulett
My husband and I decided to enjoy 3 nights in quintessential British countryside at the end of summer before moving abroad. We could not have chosen better. The Lord Poulett is idyllic. A beautiful pub in a beautiful village with charming staff and delicious food, comfortable bed and milk delivered fresh each morning so you can make a cup of tea or coffee in your room. Breakfast was superb and we literally didnât have a bad meal in 5 days (we extended!!). Hinton is also well located to explore the area. We went twice to the coast and explored dozens of local antiques shops. We both agreed we would love to return. I really canât overstate how much we enjoyed this place. Great value, too.

Called in for lunch before visiting East Lambrook Manor Gardens - perfect venue. Cool inside on hottest day of year, good selection of drinks and extensive menu plus specials all realistically priced. Attended to by Dawn, great service and made the visit exceedingly enjoyable. An asset to the establishment, attentive, pleasant and amiable. Dressed crab salad superb with fresh, large portion of salad; fish and chips nicely presented; pink gin trife excellent - taste the gin contrasting the sharpness of much fresh fruit - blackcurrants, raspberries, blackberries, very large portion; white chocolate and lemon cheesecake tasty presented in a wine glass (novel!). Sat at table by illuminated, glass covered vision hole to original well.

Warm and friendly local 16th century village pub offering good value home cooked meals. Log fires and candlelight provide the ambience and on sunny days the award winning garden is a relaxing and peaceful haven from the stresses of life.
Our family enjoyed a delicious roast lunch here. Everything was cooked perfectly, the portions were also very generous. The only downside was the time it took to get our food and the price (it certainly isn't a cheap eat). We were there to relax but waiting for over an hour for the main course to be delivered when it wasn't that busy is just too long. Shame as everything else, service, quality, atmosphere was excellent.Hello and thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you felt the wait for your main courses to arrive was too long. However, the reason for this was the waiting staff was waiting for the elderly gentleman in your party to finish his starter before they served all the main courses together. He did seem to be savouring every mouthful! We were also very busy on Sunday, as we usually are, being fully booked with guests also eating in the garden, which is not apparent when you are dining inside. So please, always book a table especially Sunday lunch. Kind regards. Andrew

Winners of the 2018 Best Restaurant in the South West and the coveted No 1 Place To Go Award 2018, a visit to New Farm Restaurant, situated in the picture postcard village of Over Stratton in Somerset, is sure to enchant you. Proprietors, Jane and Crispin
Exceptionally attractive outside and in, a charming, small restaurant which also can provide bed and breakfast. Lovely, civilised, atmosphere and smartly and appropriately decorated. All food is truly locally sourced, whether it be rack of lamb from the butcher up the road or sea bass from Chesil Bay. Our meals were beautifully presented and delicious, service and value for money excellent, and we would return to try other things from the menu.Great to hear you enjoyed your meal with us, we are fortunate with our suppliers and indeed the bass is caught by someone from our village who drops it off on his way back home, we hope to see you again soon!

County pub in a village near South Petherton, Somerset, UK
Venue was nice. Atmosphere was nice. Menu looked nice though I had trouble choosing because there with nothing I really fancied. However some others in the party fancied everything on the menu. A bit marmite then. Whilst it tasted nice the portions were far too small. I had three courses and was still ravenous after them. In desperation I asked for the largest pudding but that was a relatively small version of a banana split. My fellow diners felt the same about the portion size apart from one but then they have the physique of a racing snake and the appetite of an air plant.

We stopped off for lunch. I had their take on a picnic, basically a home made pork pie, cheese and caremalised onion toastie, salad, chutney, home made slaw and fries. It was all nice and tasty, served on a wooden board. We sat in the railway carriage but could have sat in the marquee or an old double decker bus. Service was good, we arrived just after 2.30 when they stop cooking lunch but still catered from their lunch menu for us. Dogs are allowed in the marquee. Outside there is a shop called The Trading Post, selling all sorts of different foodstuff which you see in farm shops and on line. It also does fill ups if you bring your own bottle or container. Definitely worth another visit when I am in the area.
