A stunning boutique bar located in the centre of Higham Ferrers with a fantastic Gin & Cocktail bar. you won't forget your experience with us.
Having been recommend to try the restaurant, it was decided that we were to have our works Christmas Party at the Carriage House.Following booking a month in advance, we were kept up to date with automated emails, when the number of guests were amended and orders changed. It was a very smooth process and exceptional communication from the restaurant. On the evening of the event we arrived all 22 to of us. We were greeted by Mark in the Cocktail Bar at the front of the building. Here we were served quickly and efficiently, especially when the more complicated and time-consuming drinks were ordered. After a short enjoyable stay in the bar, we moved upstairs to be seated at our table. Were were position along one side of the restaurant in a long line of tables. With surprisingly more space per person than is usual when you are in a larger group. We were instantly offered drinks and went for some red and white wine all around the table along with what was the most popular drink of the evening; the Gin Fizz. This cocktail was ordered and reordered a number of times, and still came mixed with the same care and attention as we found downstairs in the cocktail bar. Having preordered and now having our drinks, we were not kept waiting long before the starters came out. Everyone was very pleased with the starters served, and these were quickly finished off and the waiting staff who returned to clear the table would have seen some very empty plates indeed. After another order of drinks, the mains came out. The majority going for a generously portioned turkey dish, and the others a very tender lamb dish. Once again the food was well cooked, well presented and thoroughly savoured by everyone. The quality was superb, the portion size just right, not too much and not too little.Only a few chose to sample the Christmas Pudding dessert, as the portions for the first two courses were generous enough not to warrant a dessert also. For those who managed it, again the bountiful portion size was greeted with glee and thoroughly devoured. The food provided for the meal was indeed better than we expected, the service was first class, and it will be a venue all guests will return to throughout the year. The value of the food and the entire experience was second to none.We will definitely be booking up again for next Christmas. We wish the Carriage House a successful year ahead and offer a great thanks to all the staff involved in making the evenings wonderful.

Bell's Kitchen is situated inside the Bell Inn. Bills kitchen is now into year 5. We have a lovely restaurant in beautiful surroundings. There is now a pre-book menu for large parties. Chef Phil and his team will do all they can to make your experience a
The Bell is a beautiful building, which revels in being The Oldest Licenced Pub in England, 1042. However this is not the original building, no matter, its good. The food is OK and reasonable value, not remarkable, but very acceptable.

This is a proper lovely little place - the coffees are excellent and are very generous in size but reasonably priced. The menu looks interesting and a bit different to run of the mill chain coffee shop Fayre. The addition of giftware and deli items for sale makes this much more than a coffee shop and is well worth a visit. Just be aware that if you need the toilet itâs up some very steep narrow stairs! We will definitely be back soon - maybe to try the afternoon tea - which looks fabulous!

IT'S been a battle - but the Duke of Wellington has emerged victorious once again. Just weeks before the 200th anniversary of the original Duke's historic triumph over Napoleon at Waterloo, The Duke at Stanwick has beaten the builders and has opened its b
I don't know what was on the waitress's and chef's minds the evening we visited, but it wasn't customer service. It was a struggle to get the waitress to even take a drinks order, and service through the evening was grudging at best, verging on the argumentative. 3/4 of our mains order was incorrect and had to be sent back. Food was decent (when the right stuff turned up) but a bit on the pricey side, and £3 for a small bottle of coke was outrageous. The waitress's excuse of "it's been a long weekend" was a bit odd given that it was only early Friday evening.Local friends assure us that the service is usually far better so we might try this pub again someday to see if our experience was a temporary aberration.

This is a lovely little cafe serving a range of great british breakfast and traditional english cafe food at reasonable prices, all food is cooked fresh to order. We can't wait to welcome you to the Red Cafe.
Lovely clean cafe with top notch breakfasts and service with a smile - perfect little pit stop when you need to recharge your batteries. The coffee is also to die for especially the cappuccino. Good value for money and good variety of choice.

Excellent quality and service along with good value.Just had a breakfast croissant with bacon brie, tomatoes and onion. Delicious. I was expecting just the croissant and was surprised that it came beautifully presented with a side salad. Polite, friendly staff. Nice atmosphere, nice place.
Me and friends came to the rose and crown for the first time since under new management for lunch, and ended up staying there for dinner and drinks after. It is welcoming, the staff are so kind, in particular Nicky, and the food is affordable but still up to high standards. I have been a customer of the Griffin for many years, and am sad to see how it is going down hill. I went with my wife recently and ordered a coffee for her.The Griffin has had a coffee machine for years. We were presented with a cup of Nescafe, with milk already in.Also one of the staff was quite sullen. Shame it was always such a good pub. Morning Robert, we are sorry to hear that your wife didn't enjoy her coffee and are more than happy to refund the cost of it to you on your next visit. Our aim to please every customer , and honestly don't believe that we are going downhill, The Griffin is still a good pub. Regards Team Griffin.

Founded by greengrocer Bill Collison, Bill's serves eclectic British dishes made with fresh and seasonal ingredients.
Had another opportunity to visit Bill's Restaurant within the Rushden Lakes shopping complex and I have to admit, this place makes coming to Rushden Lakes worth it.The staff are fantastic always, and the food is magnificent and in my opinion, value for money. Great food, great service and great setting right next to the lake so thoroughly recommended.
