It started with a seed, an idea to create a secret garden of food and drink. A place where antiquities and trinkets hang from the walls, and resident botanists craft unusual concoctions. Some arrive for the live music, some for the conversation; but here
Meal was okay, average, the burger was a bit dry, needed more sauce. we more enjoyed our cocktails and the decor is pretty. We went for a anniversary date on Saturday evening but it was so loud, i wouldn't go there for food on Saturday evening again. Many people appeared after 8pm as thy have a bar too.Good Afternoon dominikaw957,Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. I am so glad that you enjoyed you cocktails and your anniversary evening. I will pass on your comments about the venue being loud. We look forward to welcoming you back very soon! All the best,The Botanist Team

Perkins Bar & Bistro, located at Plumtreeâs beautiful former Victorian Railway station, enjoyed an exciting transformation in 2016. Emerging as Perkins Bar & Bistro to fanfare from critics and public alike, the new eaterie offers food thatâs modern and fr
Okay - so I've said it before, but I just have to say it again . . . . this has to be about the best eaterie of it's type in the East Midlands. Popped in for the third time this year a fortnight ago, this time to celebrate my wife's birthday. As ever, every aspect was exemplary. Booking / greeting / venue / service / ambience / food & wine / value. Well done maitre'd Jane and all concerned. A little culinary gem. Dear Zafrican,Oww, what an amazing review thank you so much!!What can we say, apart from is great to see our customers happy and it make us smile when we achieve that, we proud of our little restaurant and we always try to make everyone feel special!Thank you so much and we hope to see you again very soon. Kindest regards,Heather

Whether you are looking for a stylish and individual wedding venue, an inspiring setting for a business meeting or somewhere to host a spectacular party, The Carriage Hall offers contemporary style in a striking restoration. What was once the old Plumtree
My brother-in law and his beautiful wife were married here and both the ceremony and reception were stupendous. The afternoon meal was so tasty and filling. The outdoor area catered to the numbers and everyone had a seat.I have to question the drinks, £9 for a double spirit? You are not ALLOWED to order a single. You are only ALLOWED to order pints and not halves-if you want a half you have to pay the price of a pint. Then came the shenanigans with the wedding cake! The gorgeous bride walked into the hall to ask for a knife to cut the cake only to be told that the cake had been cut and laid out on plates a couple of hours earlier! You can imagine her dismay-she nor her husband had given permission for this-never mind tasted their own wedding cake!I got the distinct impression that the staff were in a rush to go somewhere- where? Home probably. The rating above was for the food and premises. The drinks and wedding cake saga a disappointment because everything was running so smoothly.Hello,Thank you for your kind words regarding the food and venue, we are very happy to read that you enjoyed your meal.In terms of the drinks, we absolutely do serve single spirit measures and half pints at a lower price. We are sorry if there has been any miscommunication and will be sure to speak with the team regarding this.Every wedding we run has a detailed planning process and the cutting of the cake and first dance is always booked into the itinerary, unless the couple do not wish to do it. We would very much appreciate it if you could contact us directly by emailing [email protected] with the name or date of the wedding you attended so we can speak with the couple about this.Kindest regards,Heather

Booked this for my daughter's 24th birthday for 6 people.. 4 were not needing a special diet but my coeliac daughter and my wheat, dairy, egg and yeast intolerant daughter needed a special kind of service to make sure they were fully catered for.I was delighted with the staff at The Tailors Arms who have gone out of their way to cater for these special diets and have been so attentive. The gluten free sandwiches and cakes were delicious and we particularly like the gf scones.. very yummy!! The vegan/dairy free sandwiches and cakes provided for my other daughter she really enjoyed. We had a wonderful time with great food and I can't recommend them highly enough ... whether you require a straight forward afternoon tea or have complicated requirements like my lot!!Thanks guys

We have recently tried The Frame Breakers and have returned twice in quick succession we love it so much. Such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and a truly dog friendly pub as well (not just dogs tolerated). Food is tasty and filling and a good selection of real ales and gins. A fabulous village pub where everyone is welcome!

One of the finest restaurants I have ever had the pleasure of dining inStaff absolutely fantastic food to die for and great value for moneyYou do hear horror stories about how expensive some of these top restaurants can be , but Sat Bains offers great value for what is a top dining experience.Even with When it came to the wine we simply wanted a dry white wine and left it to the sommelier to recommend and he recommended a wine that was circa £45 a bottle which I must say was excellent We shall certainly be re visiting Sat Bains again soon, as nothing was too much trouble even to the extent the wife had her photo with Sat in the kitchen.11/10

Had a lovely afternoon tea here, cannot fault the place at all. Lovely friendly service, beautiful tea set, options for any dietary requirements (gluten free, dairy free, vegan). Gets very busy so may be good to book to assure no disappointment. The staff were very kind and happy to help with any requests. We had a baby with us and he was welcomed with open arms. So impressed Iâm going to take my Dad next week.

We were a party of 5 for Sunday lunch - 4 adults and a teenager. I had the picnic platter and the others shared the roast beef platter. Mine was delicious but it was really too big for 1 person, tne scotch egg and sausage roll were the nicest I have ever tasted. We asked the roast beef to be done several ways - from medium to well done and this was surprisingly not a. problem. Great food and efficient service, I would definitely go back.

The White Horse Inn is a traditional public house that offers a warm welcome and good food- reasonably priced.
Weâve been here numerous times in fact itâs our âgo to for a good mealâ when we got the flyer for a new menu and 2 for 1 we thought weâd go back. However there were very limited options actually in 2 for 1. We chose the roast pork which took 45 mins to come. There was the smallest amount of stuffing and the Yorkshire puddings were burnt. Overall it was a nice enough meal but as a fan of this place I was disappointed with this experience.
