Built in 1739, The Boot is a cosy, traditional English country pub restaurant, complete with an Inglenook fireplace, traditional bar area and newly extended restaurant "Wellingtons". Whether you're after a quality pint from our selection of real ales from
Had fish and chips, thought it poor quality. Cold chips and fish poor quality. Also expensive for a poor quality meal. Service was fineHello,We are extremely sorry to read your review and would like to request a few further details? I have spoken with our staff from the last few days and none can recall receiving a complaint on the Fish and Chips, can you please confirm you informed a member of staff about your dish? Our Tuesday evening Fish and Chips are on special offer of only £7, so I deduct it is not from then. A member of our team would have been more than happy to replace your dish if they had known! I am glad to hear service was good, we pride ourselves on excellent, personable service :) All of our food is freshly prepared and cooked to order so it is surprising to hear the chips were cold. Our haddock is fresh and as you can see from previous reviews it is usually raved about. Please can you email us with further details, we would of course appreciate more information and a chance to redeem ourselves? Please email - [email protected] :) Thank you so much!

Hi we visited here for lunch, the setting is lovely, the place was clean, the service was excellent and the food and drink were of a high standard. Having not been here for a couple of years it was great to see that the standard was still high and we would definitely return.

Another wonderful night at Prime, as always service and food on another level, we were greeted and seated by a lovely Host who immediately sent over our waitress for the eve, her name was Sorina, she took our drinks order and arrived with a lovely glass of Prosecco for us all complimentary which was so nice. We shared the starters Pate and Camembert between the 4 of us, there was plenty as accompanied by the delicious warm cheese scones which also are complimentary. I had the burger which is always so fresh served on a light Brioche Bun, my 3 family members all had steaks, a fillet, a Ribeye and a Sirloin, all were cooked to perfection, the sides were hot, we always have a great meal at Prime, this was the first time my Son had eaten here and he is a real foodie, he absolutely loved it. Staff always are so friendly and polite, Sorina was fabulous tonight. Many thanks and we will see you all again soon.

The Feathers Public House and Kitchen is a big point of difference in a small community. The history of this building is a journey in itself, having been many loved homes and businesses throughout the five hundred years or so she's been standing. It is no
We went for a quick lunch. I had the club sandwich and my daughter the flat bread salad. The club sandwich was ok. The bacon could have done with a couple of minutes more cooking. Also it got a bit soggy. The flat bread salad was very nice. £2 for a pint of soda water is a bit steep. If there was a rating between average and very good thats what I would have opted for. Better than average, not very good. Dear guestThank you for your feed back.Im sorry for your soggy sandwich.I will be sure to pass it on to the kitchen.Hope to see you soon.Kind regardsVictoria

We are lucky enough to live about 5 minutes drive from this wonderful cafe, and we are regular customers. The coffee, and hot chocolate are very good. There are some very good cakes available, and the staff could not be more friendly. There is some seating on the pavement outside if you prefer not to be inside. For those of us "oldies", Wednesday is "pensioners' discount "day.Strongly recommended.Thank you very much for your kind comments and recommendation to other customers

There was no special occasion or reason for a visit other than wanting to have a good meal. That was exactly what I got, but this time I did challenge Allan to make that pudding he had promised - a thick chocolate ganache without alcohol. More of that in a second. So they apparently keep to the same menu to avoid disappointment to people who have heard that x or y is good and then find it is not on the menu anymore. Well they mentioned a couple of specials and one was the chilli squid dish I had last time - so that was an easy choice for me and it was a) absolutely gorgeous and b) I still don't like the Iranian inspired mayonnaise it comes with as a side accompaniment - at least I am consistent! My wife went for the prawns and melon which she was very pleased with (even more when we were given some to take away at the end of the meal).I had a hard time choosing a main, but after checking the beef lasagne didn't have pork, that is what I decided to have. Nice indeed with a great salad and dressing, but almost too much as I had the anticipation for the pudding and wanted to leave room. I had worried that having lasagne was a bit of a dull choice but the layering of the sheets and ingredients was perfectly level and flat and the pasta sheets had this ort of fluffiness to them that made it different to just being homemade. My wife went for the crab linguini which she raved about while eating, and then raved about all the way home. And so to pudding, where we were taken to the small kitchen and shown the chocolate pudding and given the choice of a red berry compote or sliced oranges. I went for the orange and by heaven, the chocolate was to die for - smooth, thick, and SO much chocolate. The orange cut through it and contrasted really nicely. It was no wonder I bought all the rest of the pudding - after all he had made it just for me (I will let my wife have some, but the rest is mine, all mine). So yet another winning evening of (literally) personal service from a talented chef without the trouble of having to go to London. This really is a place that astonishes the palate and is very recommended by me - just don't be booking when I want to go because it sometimes takes a bit of patience to actually get in.(It is a BYOB for those of you that drink alcohol)

We were passing through and chose this place for Sunday lunch as it was listed as dog- friendly and it looked like it had a lot of greenery around it for a nice post lunch walk. We were not disappointed. Very friendly welcome, nice ambience, offered the dog water. Good menu choice- the usual Sunday roasts offered ( I had a lovely vegetarian Chestnut roast with all the trimmings incl veg gravy and a great yorkshire pudding) and hubby had steak which was a good size and he said was perfectly cooked. Great chips too! Yummy dessert choice. Nice lakeside walks nearby. Will definitely come again if in the area. We both had two courses, and bill was just over £40 incl two pints of beer so we thought this was good value.

Very good menu selection includes decent vegetarian choices as well. Service was attentive & quick. Food quality very nice. Clean & professional. They worked hard on creating nice 84th Birthday Party for my mother. Wheel chair access into restaurant is OK. Seating is also spacious which helps. Glad that the night was enjoyable!
