We focus on simple, honest food cooked to order. The freshest ingredients where possible and a mix of innovative dishes with comfortable flavours. Our premium charcoal fired oven and grill is the first of its kind in Staffordshire. It's where the magic ha
Me and my family came for my grandad's 80th birthday and sat at the round table in our own little space. The staff were lovely and attended to our needs on the day. Ordering the medium sirloin steak I was delighted as it was cooked to perfection! All my family enjoyed our meals, however, I wish the portion sizes were a little bigger as they are on the small side.

Real pub, real people, friendly staff. Lovely location by the canal, nice in summer. Simple and wholesome menu. Charity tea and cake days last Friday of every month are lots of fun

Lovely place with good food, it is probably advisable to book. We were recommended this place by our host at an Airbnb. Better to drive as taxis to/from Stafford around £40 return trip. Nice pint of Holdens as well.

Decided to try this place for our anniversary meal. We shared a starterOf lemon sole goujons which were very nice. Ordered mains of belly pork and sirloin steak. Steak was overdone but still tasty. Chips a bit stale like re warmed up. My wife had the belly pork which was a bit salty but tasty. The potatoes with this were very poor. The veg of broccoli, cauliflower and peas were just frozen warmed up in a dish and the dish had a pool of water in it. Service was dire. Had to chase more drinks. Had to chase a steak knife. The waitress never came over to ask about food till the end. When we told her she just said sorry about that and collected plates and left. Overall not a great place to eat. Won't be going back there again.

We were staying in a local hotel but wanted to go out for dinner in one of the local pubs/restaurants. We booked a table in the restaurant (upstairs) for Saturday evening. This place is great value for dinner; £15 for 3x courses. The food was absolutely lovely and tasty. The staff could not be more helpful or attentive; really appreciated the service plus friendliness. The bar downstairs was really busy, with live music. We had a few drinks before leaving. We would gladly return.

Situated on the Cannock Road in Penkridge by the banks of the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal, The Boat is a traditional and lively pub serving real ales & delicious homemade food. We are a family friendly pub with real ales and a menu of freshly p
This place has a very enthusiastic chef and the food, staff and ambience work very well. However the gents toilets let the the whole experience down.Whoever cleans the toilets should look behind the toilet door, really sorry but itâs unforgivable to have this kind of filth on show.

I booked this only from reference of reviews and pictures online. We travelled over 80 miles, for a surprise meal for my boyfriends 21st birthday. On arrival, we was greeted by lovely friendly staff and seated straight away. The food was amazing, we both had the steak meal on the menu â2 courses for £22â. The steak was cooked to perfection. We both also had desert, myself with the lemon tart and my boyfriend with the chocolate sauce and ice cream waffle. Both again, could not be faulted. To top the night of completely, I had previously messaged them mentioning that it was a surprise meal for my boyfriends 21st, and this did not go unnoticed. They brought out a plate with happy birthday written on, with some chocolates on the side, which I thought was a lovely gesture. I could not fault this place at all, every staff member was lovely and the food was 11/10. Will be returning if we are ever down this way again, Thank you

We visited Woodlands last night to celebrate my mother-in-law's 80th and we were absolutely delighted! The food was excellent and couldn't be faulted and the same could be said about the service. Everything was very reasonably priced and we'll certainly be returning. The only very minor negative was that the dining room felt a little clinical but I appreciate that's a matter of personal taste!Dear st0ckp0rtsThank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review on Trip Advisor I am so glad to hear your mother in laws birthday celebrations were a success and everyone enjoyed their experience in WoodlandsI shall certainly pass on your kind comments to the team Many thanks RoxanneWoodlands Restaurant

What a fabulous find close to both Birmingham & Wolverhampton in the beautiful village of Penkridge. A very pretty from the outside & trendy on the inside great pub. Very popular with fabulous friendly staff and the most amazing family room for myself, husband and Ollie our large Labradoodle dog. Lovely touches of home made biscuits, good quality tea and coffee. A huge room very airy, cottage feel and immaculate. Great little village with friendly locals a truly great little find when next in this area on business. Well done Tony & the team.Wow, thank you VERY MUCH ! What a superb review, thank for the taking the time to leave such great feedback.Kind regardsTony Later

We are a family run Tea Room based at Pillaton Garden Centre, serving freshly cooked breakfasts and a fantastic lunch menu. All of our food is homemade by us in the Tea Room. We pride ourselves on our great tasting, reasonably priced, drinks and food. Our
Iâm bemused by the feedback on this cafe? So, the big breakfast which consists of 2 bacon (reasonable quality), 1 sausage (abysmal quality) , one egg (ok), 1 hash brown (good), 1 slice of black pudding ( poor quality) beans ( opted out), mushrooms(Ok, deep fried though), brown toast (run of the mill, sweet brown bread). Included in price tea or coffee £9.95. You can upgrade your drink to something like a cappuccino for an extra 50p. We opted out of the beans and asked for an egg instead - without any mention this was charged at an extra 50p. Thereâs no service, no mention of where to get your own cutlery, serviettes etc. When we asked they were pointed at to fetch ourselves. We asked for a portion of jam for the toast and were quoted 35p, and declined. We go out for breakfast almost every weekend day and for this price we expected premium ingredients and good service, knowing many fairly local establishments that offer this at around this price (actually all a little cheaper). This runs like an upmarket greasy Joes breakfast and whilst thereâs absolutely nothing wrong with self service and a bog standard breakfast this can be bought in many establishments from £3.50 - £5.....Grossly overpriced and insultingly average (at best) !Hi, Thank you for taking the time in length to write this review. We were all expecting this from you after you came in Saturday and thank you for the other too. To be honest after speaking to the staff I donât think we would like you to return anyway. Our breakfasts are 5 star, thatâs why we are always busy, our regulars canât all be wrong. Our food has been the same for 2 years, nothing has changed itâs all good quality butchers food. As for no service?, you were served at the till, then your food was brought to your table, then my own daughter went and got your cutlery for you, she told me so you have lied there, We also after you left cleared your table, in my eyes thatâs service. My staff are very polite. We are a family run garden centre, the prices we charge are what we can afford to do them at, all the prices are on the menu and no one is forcing you to have them, you also did not complain to the staff about your so called poor breakfast. I am going to carry on doing what we do well and ignore this review as itâs inaccurate and very unkind. If anyone had a problem with their food they should bring it up at the time, as after is no good to anyone. Thank you for your time, we all wish you well from Pillaton Tearoom
