Working on the island for a week and fancied a burger with a bit extra so found the smoke house. Got luck as it is supposed to be shut for a refurb Great burgers and a huge portion of fries Really enjoyed the evening

We didnât get to eat or to drink. A nice sunny day where you could sit outside and wait to be served. And wait. People arrived, sat down and waited and left. Perhaps they were busy although didnât look it, maybe understaffed or maybe they just donât care - who knows.Apologies, it was particularly busy on the 11th. This time of year we unfortunately do get caught out by a sudden influx from time to time. The staff were very busy. Please accept my apologies again.

We ate here 2 weeks ago, the food was first class and good value for money.My only criticism was the food came out at different times and my Dads was warm not hot. We did bring this to the attention of the manager who gave him a free desert.Love venue with a nice atmosphere, we will be visiting again.Thank you for the lovely review! We recently held a birthday celebration for 25 family and friends which proved to be excellent in every respect.There was nothing not to like about our experience and our guests feedback was all very positive . The menu offered a good range of options and the wine we chose was to everyones liking.The service was judged perfectly which for the numbers involved was testament to John and his team - so a big thank you to you all !

Large pub with still a lot of character due to all the sailing memorabilia. An extensive menu is available (Breakfast, sandwiches, baguettes, burgers, main meals including steaks ) and a specials board as well so Lots to choose from for everyone. It was busy at lunch time so we had to wait a little to place our order , but the food was served quickly. The facilities were clean so would happily return if I was in the area. Thank you for your review, it was good to hear that you enjoyed your visit to our pub.

We were at Django's for the music, wondering whether the long drive into the countryside would be worth it. Any fears were soon dispelled by the attractive setting, lovely buildings, and friendly welcome. I only had a piece of cake, but it was delicious. As delicious as the music, in fact, but Paul Armfield, like Django's, is well worth finding.

Welcoming and friendly staff as soon as you enter the door which is always appreciated despite it being busy, love this quirky old pub anyway but food was great. There were 8 of us booked at short notice, everyone was delighted with their food. We'll be back!

We booked Thompson's based on an internet search and reading TripAdvisor reviews, as we live in the north of England. We'd had a lovely day with beautiful summery weather and a trip to Osborne, and our visit to Thompson's rounded off our visit beautifully. We had the tasting menu, which was superb in every respect. All staff were friendly, relaxed and very knowledgeable. The food was beautifully presented and prepared, and also gave us an opportunity to try things we wouldn't attempt at home, such as cuttlefish 'tagliatelle'. I mentioned to the waitress that I wasn't a big fan of parmesan, but it wasn't a particular issue, and voila, the kitchen staff made sure my meal was tailored to my tastes, even preparing some gnocchi to replace an element of one dish. Oh, and the we have to mention the quirky cutlery, the good quality Riedel glasses ( yes, we use them at home ), and the complimentary amuse buche and pre-ssert.

We visited for lunch (without pre-booking ... it wasn't busy out-of-season) and I enjoyed pork & black-pudding served on red cabbage while my wife ordered a chicken curry which defeated her in its generous portion size!
