The Smugglers Inn offers a cosy bar, a delightful restaurant and accommodation by the sea at Blue Anchor Bay in Somerset. We are on the edge of Exmoor and the Quantock hills and make a perfect base for walking holidays. The West Somerset steam railway run
We ate twice at the Smugglers due to the excellent food. Good choice on menu and superb specials board. I had Rice Pudding with mango Chutney, delicious. The menu had a good choice on.,pies ,fish etc.. not the cheapest place weâve eaten but worth every penny . Dining room beautifully laid out and airy but suggest booking as it gets very busy . Food not rushed as cooked fresh and it is a place for an evening out . Separate bar , plenty of parking, and I believe there is accommodation as well. Need a car due to location. Would certainly recommend. Dog Friendly .

Long wait, how long does it take to cook breakfast? The owners obviously do not put customer service high on the list of priorities. Just another tourist passing through!!. It was not busy. 45 minutes to cook breakfast, we had finished our coffee. I like my coffee with my food11

On holidays so decided on fish and chips for dinner .We purchased 4 lots for us, note that no card payments are accepted. Chips were lovely. However fish needed few more minutes, fish itself was thin, batter was bright yellow, thick and not crispy at all. I usually love the batter bit but in this instance I had to take it off.Shame.

Loved the carvery so much we visited it twice - as they do a carvery on Wednesday as well as Sunday. Both times we were given wonderful food, beautifully cooked. One of the best things is that you get decent portions of meat here, rather than the scratchings at some other carveries! The gravy is amazing too, along with a good selection of veggies. The best carvery we've tasted in the area at a reasonable price.

We had walked from Minehead along the Coast Path and arrived here to find it full of similar walkers with their rucksacks! You sit in a lovely garden with splendid moorland views. The owner had put a water dispenser and glasses which was a nice touch. We had a cream tea and my wife, who is a bit of an expert, remarked at the quality of the jam and the cream. The scones were nicely warmed too.A thoroughly pleasant way to wind away an hour in a wonderful part on England.

Local, independent cafe/bar priding itself on high quality coffee, food and service. We source many local products to use in our largely homecooked menu which includes sandwiches, panini's, homemade beefburgers, pieminister pies, our own soups and weekly s
We were in Minehead for a birthday and decided to visit a little cafe that we had been to before. Unfortunately it was closed due to a private function so we wandered along The Avenue and came across Cream. The menu looked good so we ordered a Moroccan chicken panini and a scone with jam and cream. The panini which came with tortillas and salad was huge and so was my scone. Unfortunately due to the size neither of us completed our meal although we were tempted to ask for doggy bags. The young girls serving were delightful and we would certainly return but would probably share a meal next time. However great value for money.

Historic Harbour side Pub Inn & Hotel. A landmark building with its history of hospitality going back over 100 years. Our atmospheric restaurant and pub food experience will be very much 'River Cottage' style with Seafood, Fresh Fish, Local Farm Produce,
We ate in the restaurant section of this place and it was amazing. The room was lovely and the service was spot on. There was a lot of choice in the menu and some additional specials. We had some pheasant and venison for the main course and both were absolutely stunning. Desserts were good and we found a lovely portugese red wine in the list. A great place that i would love to return to.

The Apple Tree Tearooms is to be found half way up the tree-lined avenue in Minehead. Serving a healthy cooked breakfast, soups, jacket potatoes, toasties, sandwiches and baguettes and salads and Ploughmans. Luscious home-made cream teas, cakes, cookies a
We went in on the 1944 weekend, as previous visit had been brilliant and wanted to try something off their menu. There wasnât to many people there but an abundance of staff talking. We took our seat and about 10 minutes a young girl came to take our order. Though we kept making eye contact to try and get someone. Though they were busy chatting. My wife ordered a cream tea and l had the apple tree crumpet special. Food and drinks were bought out and very well presented. People then started to wander in and was nice to hear one of the young girls explaining what was going on in minehead over the weekend. Went to use toilet, and should win an award for the cleanliness. Went to pay again was ignored as conversation was more important. Hence the 4, in my score. Though would return, beautiful surrounding, delicious menu using as much local ingredients as can be sourced.

Visited whilst on an Exmoor break - we had Ham, Egg and Chips (ham tender and tasty, chips fantastic and perfectly cooked eggs) and Scampi & Chips (fantastic, huge and like no Scampi I've had before 'proper' Scampi). We narrowed it down to three puddings between us.. Homemade Apple Crumble & Cream.. Salted Caramel Ice Cream made nearby.. And Ameretto Creme Brulé - out of this world. People running it really lovely, restaurant itself warm and cosy. All in all a great experience. Only downside being its 3-4 hours from home :(
