Set in the lovely village of Hillsborough, in rural county Down and named after the hare, hara is a reflection of the countryside around it. Working closely with local farmers and growers, chef owners Andy Turner and Roz Allen have an impressive pedigree
Was trying to find somewhere nice for lunch and remembered reading about here in local paper and wasn't disappointed. Only wanted something small but that didn't matter as service was excellent and nice atmosphere. The corn fed chicken dish was to die for, roasted individually and worth the wait. Will definitely be back for more. Very reasonable for the quality.

We visited today as a family of three for Sunday lunch, and as usual the food was fantastic. The staff are friendly and prompt, and we enjoyed sitting near a roaring open fire. We had the spicy chicken wings and the chicken liver pate to start, and roast dinners for main while my son went for the Jamaican Jerk chicken sandwich. My husband is a chef and was impressed by the roast dinners - proper gravy made from scratch, gorgeous creamy mash and nice presentation. Weâll definitely be back again soon!

The Tap Room is a unique venue for any event from Barbeques to Formal Dining. A working brewery with a Licensed Restaurant in a beautiful and historic georgian setting at Hilden House which is located in the village of Hilden just off the main Belfast/Lis
Wife & I were in the Lisburn area but wanted to avoid the usual town centre traffic, so for the first time picked the Tap Room for lunch. Started with a tasty selection of breads, olives & dips. Wife had steak & ale pie, and crisp pork belly for me. Both were well cooked and presented, and good value. Only downside was that I was driving and so couldnât sample the breweryâs craft beers. Upside of that is the excuse to pay a repeat visit, with the wife driving next time!

Decided on a last minute bit of dinner with the family ( you gotta treat them once in awhile!) opted for this place as recent reviews would suggest it would be worth it ............ hmm .... arrived around half six pls e was very quiet usually not the best sign but we put it down to the weather.... rain in n Ireland ? Never !!! Anyway was seated in s both must say they were comfortable and offered you some privacy, even before we was able to sit down we was asking what weâd like to drink now I know a lot of places so this but give people time to even glance at the menu, was sat down for around three minutes and yet again being asked what weâd like slow down gees Iâve come out for a relaxing dinner with my two princesses ! Anyway we finally got time to look through the menu opted for cocktails both nice recommend the dark and stormy and porn star... oooooo cheeky !!! so thumbs up there little lady enjoyed her milkshake also, signature platter to start wings state there three different flavours but all were same, rubs and garlic bread were nice, mains we opted for a rib eye , fillet two garlic chips and onion rings and obviously pepper sauce ( be rude not too ) we ordered another round of drinks as we literally was down to the last drop in our glasses and I kid you not the drinks took 25 minutes to come out by this stage we had finished our mains got that bad I. Had to sip my peppercorn sauce ! Restaurant wasnât that busy so canât let them off for that, the head chef also came out the kitchen to argue with a group at a table near by whether it was warranted or not other diners which include children donât really need to see such things in my opinion, all in all food was tasty but the service was some of the slowest weâve ever encountered anyway. Sharing platter along with our mains milkshake kids burger and two cocktails each came in at £120 not the cheapest and certainly didnât warrant a tip, hopefully youâll receive better service if you go Iâm sure the food will be a winner thoOh dear me yet another numpty using this anonymous social medium platform to pass an evening with nothing better to do other than slate a business that is striving to do its best,As regards your review - the comedy efforts, grammatical mistakes and poor spelling reflect the individual that you are i.e - ânot one that we want backâ,To address the issues raised we feel it is good in house etiquette to enquire if guests would like some refreshments on arrival - I consider that good customer care??The starter wings that you refer to offer a choice of flavour, not a selection?? - perhaps you should pay more attention when reading the menu. The reason the Head Chef left the kitchen was to deal with a rude and aggressive customer who had two members of staff in tears - Iâm sure in the future you would be grateful if somebody did the same for either of your 2 princessesâs.I do however apologise for your lengthy wait on your second round of drinks but would suggest that if you do decide to return you order a large pepper sauce on arrival

The first waitress, long dark hair and swarthy skin, came over and took the order which arrived promptly.I requested skimmed milk but semi skimmed arrived as apparently they donât do skimmed milk! Pity the waitress didnât know! My scrambled eggs were swimming in water and were so close to white they looked like porridge. The second waitress was so helpful and pleasant and took them away to remove the water. They returned just the same so the waitress offered to drain them herself. She obviously did her best but they still had water in them. Completely tasteless! However the other three meals were very good with no complaints.I watched the first waitress look at our empty plates and didnât bother to clear the table, leaving it for the next available waitress. This same waitress sat and chatted with a customer while my friend stood waiting to order afternoon tea. She ignored my friend, let her stand about and only acknowledged her when I approached. Not much work in this woman and personality minus! Lucky the rest of the staff were lovely.Thank you for your feedback. We pride ourselves on the quality of our coffee. In order that the natural fats in milk are not burned during the process of heating/ frothing milk, it is imperative that only semi and full fat milk are used to ensure quality. We do this under the advise from the roastary from which our coffee beans are harvested and supplied. E.g. Skinny Latte (semi skimmed milk)Latte (Full fat) We apologise for the misunderstanding, but hope we have provided more clarity for you surrounding this issue. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your scrambled eggs. The next time you visit please make yourself known and we will aim to provide you with breakfast on the house. As for our waitresses, in order to ensure the smooth running of the tea room, each one, whilst perhaps unbeknownst to our customers is playing a different role. For example one will be responsible for orders, another for drinks and cutlery, another for clearing tables and so forth. Each one will endeavour to see to your needs within their role as quickly as possible. With regards to your final comments, as well as being a Tea Room, our business has a great number of patrons who become more than simply an order to us. it is not uncommon for our staff to briefly chat to such patrons, as a matter of fact, we feel it is an important part of their job. We trust that it is evident that we are a small family business who value a personable approach. Finally should you wish to book an Afternoon Tea this must be booked in advance by telephoning 02892638099 or by booking at the till area located near the entrance. There are a number of steakhouses in the immediate area surrounding Lisburn Omniplex. Weâve tried them all and without a doubt Del Toro is simply the best. Welcoming decor, friendly attentive staff, great value and the food was nothing short of superb. The rump steaks were exceptional and I would fully recommend this restaurant to all and sundry.

Visited last night as party of a party of 7 girls. We arrived just before 7pm and had been able to book for the early menu specials. Amazing value. Food was absolutely delicious. The staff are more than attentive. One in particular Alan looked after the 7 of us. Was more than attentive kept checking in on us did we need anything more drinks, how did the food taste etc. Customer service exceptional. Will most definitely be returning and recommending to others. Food was really superb. Really went out of their way to make us feel really welcome. Food was really delicious. Well done indeed.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal this evening to celebrate my dads 83rd birthday. Food was delicious, steaks cooked to perfection as usual (Thank you John!) The service was excellent, staff very friendly and treated my dad with the utmost respect.Thank you to Chloe, Jack and Gavin who all made sure we wanted for nothing. And of course no birthday would be complete at Ed's without the hooting of the horn,a chorus of Happy Birthday singing and photo posing which actually made my dad quite emotional! Thanks again for a lovely evening.

This is a place we visit often. The menu is consistently great and the staff wonderful. Tonight was an 86th Birthday Treat for the family Chief and didn't disappoint. Efficient and cheerful service from a great team and again a wonderful varied menu with vegetarian options. They have a great wine list and local beers.
