Donât be fooled by pet friendly cafe! Every week I come here to buy a coffee to go and a sandwich after a morning walk with my Labrador. However this morning I was welcome by an snooty older woman who informed me she is the manager and rudely asked me to stand at the door with my dog !! Will not be coming here again!!! Donât be fooled by the pet friendly as far from it!!!!Hello LeanneYou have already written to me by email (to which I have responded) , you have posted this same review on Facebook and you have now chosen to write on Trip Advisor. We clearly fail to understand your issue yesterday. You could not have been asked in a more polite and respectful manner to move to the end of the Sandwich Bar Counter with your dog, with an explanation why. Whilst we welcome dogs into our Cafe, pets are not allowed in open food premises, hence why you were asked if you wouldn't mind moving to the till area, away from the food, as this area is not part of the Cafe..By your own admission, you said in your email yesterday that you 'always wait by the till', therefore, as a presumably sensible dog owner we simply don't understand why you have taken such offence at being asked to move to a more appropriate waiting place, rather than walking up and down the counter with your large dog.I never stated I was the Manager, I did advise you that I was in fact the Owner, and therefore the health and safety of my customers is my top priority. As I have already stated to you on two previous occasions now, there is no way in which the manner you were asked to move to the till area could have been construed as anything other than respectful and polite, and I'm sorry you have chosen to take such offence.Best wishesSally

The staff were excellent, friendly and efficient. We had sesame sausages, battered cod and halloumi salad. it was OK - couldn't say really good! The noise was high we couldn't hear ourselves speak. There were large groups in and its always difficult if the bar downstairs is busy as it was. ( Saturday 7.00 pm ) The food came too fast and we had finished 2 course in 55 minutes! Hi Dianep,That you for taking the time to write a review about your visit. I'm disappointed to hear you didn't find your visit as positive as you'd have liked. I do hope the pace of evening hasn't put you off from dining with us again. Please come again soon.ThanksTom

Had lunch there yesterday. Chose from the light bites sandwich based menu. Food came very quickly and looked like it had been thrown together. Chips under cooked. Beef on sandwich almost raw and too tough to eat. Outside eating area swarmed with wasps and no attempt use the usual deterrents. Bar person offered a tab to be set up and then kept my carder duration of the meal felt like a criminal. The food has definitely gone down hill from a couple of years ago

Recently awarded Cheshire Lifes dining pub of the year The Bells of Peover is a beautilful, Grade 1 listed dining pub that has been under new ownership since September 2009. Food offerings range from homemade bar snacks to full a la carte menu. Our food i
Lovely setting and the pub has character to spare. We ordered the steak as we were celebrating a special occasion (more of this later). The food was excellent, the steak was done to perfection, one of the best fillet steaks I have ever had. There were some frustrations however that rather spoiled the overall experience. The service was haphazard drinks orders were mixed up, we had two drinks and they got it wrong twice! We ordered coffee which they forgot about and generally some of the staff seemed very poorly trained. As for the special occasion. The website affords you the opportunity to state if your visit is celebratory in any way. I did state that it was our wedding anniversary but at no time during our visit was this acknowledged - what is the point of having this facility on the website if it is then to be ignored.I would say the kitchen is superb but front of house needs vast improvement.

Six of us went for a birthday celebration. The landlord welcomes everyone and the atmosphere is great. We all enjoyed our food - probably the best we have had in a long time! We would definitely recommend The Dun Cow, but it is probably best to book because it was really busy. Thanks very much for you reviewRegardsCurtis

We were staying overnight in the town while travelling further south. Not sure where to eat and drink and basically stumbled across The Rose and Crown while wandering. We went in initially only for a ârefreshmentâ but we found the staff so welcoming and the overall ambience so good we stayed a while! We had a great chat with the clientele and when we asked a good place to eat in the town the recommendation was where we were sitting.Great choice, lovely food and very reasonable in price. If in Knutsford give The Rose & Crown a try.

First time visit to enjoy a family Birthday Party. Not a big pub, but nicely appointed with a good atmosphere and excellent menu. Although there were over 20 of us, the management organised tables, so that we could all fit in the front dining room. We ate from a special 3 course menu, which had a good variety of options. The food was well presented and of good quality; the service was exemplary. We had an excellent afternoon, so well done Bears Paw and hopefully it won't be too long before we return. RecommendedDear Mojoblue717,Thank you so much for the incredibly kind review! Itâs pleases us all to hear how much you and your party enjoyed the food and service. I cannot lie, squeezing 28 people into the main room was a bit of a task, but we relish the challenge! I certainly hope to see you and your friends & family again in the not too distant future.
