Popped in for lunch on bank holiday Sunday. Just wanted a lighter meal as had to walk back to Harrogate. Not a big menu and no alternatives to Sunday lunch. No bother at all when I asked if I could just have a childrenâs Sunday lunch. Really sheltered and sunny beer garden so ate outside on a variable weather day. Lovely and relaxing. Meat cut thin just how I like it. Hubbyâs beef was pink and my pork was moist. Nice selection of vegetables and roasties and Yorkshire puddings good. Gravy a bit thin but tasty. I tried the rhubarb and custard lager after trying a sample. Really did get the sourness of the rhubarb then a slight sweetness from the custard lol. Toilets super clean and the ladies had various toiletries which is a nice touch. Staff couldnât been better.

Called in here on Saturday evening and initially we nearly walked back out as there was loads of dirty tables. We decided to stay as the food looked nice. The fish and chips were excellent and the staff were lovely , toilets spotless so we left a tip and will return. Just need a bit more attention to detail and clear some tables as when we visited it was quiet so no excuse.

The food at this place is just superb, every time we visit. If youâre looking for a top end bistro pub meal in traditional surroundings with a warm welcome, youâll struggle to do better.

A morning stroll with old friends along the riverside on a decidedly autumnal day ended with an early lunch. I noticed a previous reviewer criticised the coffee but there was nothing wrong with ours. I had ham, egg and chips which were top notch and wife had a chicken burger which she really enjoyed. Our friends had toasties and a pot of tea and were well pleased. Service was quick, helpful and cheerful. Another reviewer criticised them for being cash only but obviously too tight to carry a couple of banknotes around with them! Don't they realise prices would have to rise if Riverside did credit cards?

This was the 2nd time round I have visited The Guy Fawkes Arms and I must say it didn't dissappoint. This time was for a Team Lunch with work. We pre ordered our choices from the lunchtime menu ahead of our visit. The service was fantastic and although we were a large group the front of house staff and Danielle looked after our every need. The vegetarian options were delicious and I can highly recommend the Mushroom Soup with homemade bread. It was the best Mushroom Soup I have ever tasted. I would highly recommend The Guy Fawkes Arms to any large parties. The service was efficient, well organised and friendly. The perfect combination. I look forward to visiting again and seeing the refurbishment of the lovely restaurant.Thanjs Danielle and Adam. Keep up the hard work!

Knaresborough has charm. The town is blessed by the tranquil River Nidd. There is, however, a little gem that is situated along the river walk. I understand that The Half Moon Free House Pub may have been struggling in the past but there is no sign of this today. The new owners have turned the fortunes of The Half Moon, around. The pub has been tastefully decorated, it is spotlessly clean and there is certainly a welcoming atmosphere when you venture inside. The Half Moon is bucking the trend - this pub is unlikely to close. The owners have made their mark - welcoming staff, a nice simple lunch and great beer. Well done boys - you deserve every drop of success.

Friendly, family-run cafe on the High Street, in the historic market town of Knaresborough. Famous for our breakfasts and hand-cut skin-on chips, we also serve an excellent range of teas and coffees, as well as the usual cafe fare such as jacket potatoes,
Popped in for a late lunch while visiting Knaresborough. The staff were friendly and efficient and our food was served promptly. I had a delicious bacon, brie and cranberry panini and it came with crisps, a tasty salad (loved the addition of grapes) and a home-made coleslaw, one of the nicest I have had. My husband chose sausage, egg and chips and also enjoyed his meal. The menu is varied, there is something for everyone, and prices are reasonable too. We had no room for cake, unfortunately, as they looked delicious! Highly recommended.Thank you so much for taking the time to give us such a nice review. Do come and see us again!
