Osso is an excellent contemporary style restaurant adjacent to the High street in Peebles. At night focuses more on three course Dinner, during the day is more 'laid back' and cafe style. Has won awards.
We had a lovely dinner at Osso - Halibut filet with truffled mash & wild mushrooms. The service, ambience and food were excellent. We found the restaurant through viamichelin.com where Osso is listed as a "Bib Gourmand" The Bib Gourmand spotlights restaurants that serve âhigh-quality meals which include two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for $40 or less. We highly recommend!!

Fish & chips done right. Been coming here for years. Always consistent. Great quality & value. Super fresh moist haddock in a crispy batter. Excellent chips. Some of the best fish & chips not just in the borders but in the known universe.

We were delighted and perplexed that we seemed to be the only people in Coltmans on a Thursday evening in early October. Initially, I felt the restaurant was lacking in ambience and could have benefitted from some mood lighting such as candles on the tables however, we were there to eat. The bread on offer was so delicious I was in danger of eating too much of it. My dining partner enjoyed his starter of hot smoked salmon but was totally knocked out by his main course of venison. He is still raving about how well it was presented and how wonderful it tasted. He does get out rather a lot, so for him to praise this dish so highly was unusual. I enjoyed my ribeye steak followed by a simple coffee. My companion chose to end his meal with a selection of sorbets which seemed to hit the spot. We had fabulous wine, Hogs Head if I remember correctly. We would recommend this restaurant highly. Definitely a place to book for a weekend in Peebles.

Had never tried the Crown Hotel before but was pleasantly surprised by the large restaurant. Staff were great and food was excellent. Fish was a large portion but great if you are really hungry.

Restaurant within Windlestraw Hotel
Windlestraw was a fantastic recommendation by friends. This boutique B&B is situated on the side of a hill, and our room was probably the most lovely and comfortable I have stayed in with a beautiful outlook over the Tweed. The owners, Sylvia and John, are very friendly and professional. The couple support current local artists and craftsmen as well as having a large collection of books, ornaments and photographs from their days working abroad. All this complements the beautiful Edwardian interior of the building â there is so much to enjoy here, inside and out.Dinner and breakfast were delicious, homemade and very interesting, using locally sourced produce. One of our party is coeliac (gluten intolerant) and the couple went to so much trouble to accommodate him and, where a substitute was required, to ensure his food was every bit as tasty and enjoyable as ours. Thank you Sylvia and John!
This traditional pub seems to have lost a bit of character in a refurbishment at some point but still fine none the less. We had lunch. 2 out of 3 meals were lovely! Would definitely go back as it was only an issue with the reheating of the pulled pork. They be isnât charge us for it so it wasnât a problem. The waitress could benefit from some more training but the man, I am assuming is a manager of some kind, was great. Very chatty and knowledgeable. A bit pricey but was actually delicious so we didnât mind.

On the 9th June 2019 we launched Cafe Sitooterie â tucked away in a delightfully-secret spot overlooking Caddon View's hidden garden. The café serves coffee & teas, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, cakes, evening meals and is also licenced. The food ethos re
We stayed at this great B&B for the third time and even came back on the same trip for a second go. Welcome, room and ambiance were as perfect as ever. Lisa and Steve are excellent hosts who make you feel at home at once. Lisa is an absolute lovely gal with perfect manners and an impeccable, always friendly and efficient service, flying through the room like a fairy. Steve is a gregarious, affable and fun-loving guy and a great cook. Sadly, about half of the guests staying at Caddon View seem to forfeit the pleasure of testing Steveâs and Lisaâs talents as restaurateurs, at least this was the case on the three evenings we stayed there this time. And what a shame this is! We think of ourselves as very demanding and perhaps even somewhat spoilt patrons but couldnât find a flaw in the absolutely delicious three course dinners Steve prepared every evening. Everything was beautifully presented and perfectly served by Lisa, done to the point and a pleasure from the first to the â sadly â last bite. Caddon View is fully licenced and its wine list has a very nice choice of reasonably priced wines (a little too heavy on the overseasâ wines for our taste, as is the case with most wine lists in the UK, but including, among others, a gorgeous red from the Veneto region in Italy). To cut a long story short: an overall perfect stay and we will certainly be back!

Stopped off here after MTB ride around Innerleithen after a recommendation Looked a Nice place. They offer a bar menu so we thought we were in. However, we were told they are not serving the bar menu as they are fully booked. Seemed pointless having a bar menu imo. Usually if your busy you have to wait a little. But nope. Even the restaurant was only half full. Oh well went somewhere else and had a cracking meal. Felt let down.
