Ok, room at back, 10of us. Unfortunately adjacent tooutside area and smoke from smokers wafted in. Food was good, however hand cooked chips not so. Chips donât have skin on, and should be crispy and delicious, unfortunately yours were not. Steak cooked as required. Staff friendly and accommodating.

This was my first time at The Maltster's Arms and it was a pleasant pub with flavorful food. I had a spicy marinaded chicken with a bean salad, mango salsa and a honey glaze which was tasty followed by a Scottish dessert called Cranachan which included whipped cream, raspberries, oatmeal and honey was absolutely delectable and sweet! My mother enjoyed her sea bass and her chocolate and hazelnut terrine! The bar staff were absolutely friendly and considerate all the way! The service was spot on and I will return to this Brakspear pub again!

One of Henley few remaining traditional public houses serving a great choice of drinks and homemade daily specials as Well as traditional pub food . Run by Nigel and Julie since 1999
Went here for an evening meal while walking the Thames Path.Decor is a little dated with fruit machines and snooker table quite prominent. However, the welcome we got was really friendly and the food was excellent. We had a shared starter which was delicious and plentiful.I then had homemade fish cakes which were fab and my husband had fish and chips which again was excellent. We felt really well looked after and you couldn't fault the food for value and quality.Well worth a visit.Hi OxonLioness . So glad you decided to choose us for your evening meal. Hope you enjoyed your walk . Thanks for your review, we are a very friendly pub with traditional pub facilities, darts , pool, BT and Sky sports. Thanks

Shaun Dickens at The Boathouse, Henley-on-Thames, brings together fresh, local British produce, an unparalleled riverside setting, and the very highest standards of service. âRecently awarded our coveted AA 3 Rosette Award, our uncompromising approach to
Dinner tonight at Shaun Dickens in Henley on Thames. What a gem, what a surprise, though with a score of 6 in the Good Food Guide it shouldnât really have been a surprise. Dickens has worked with some seriously good chefs, notably Raymond Blanc of the Manoir aux QuatâSaisons (Michelin 2 star) and with Thomas Keller at his 3 star Per Se in New York - and the pedigree shows. Here is really fine cooking at very reasonable prices. There is a tasting menu as well as a carte, but we opted on this occasion for the midweek menu (2 courses £28, 3 courses £34), which is really excellent value with no corners cut. A small cup of delicious soup as an amuse-bouche started things off, with excellent home-made focaccia and well-salted butter. The chicken terrine starter was moist and well flavoured, served with tomato gel, chutney, gremolata and rocket. Our main course, lamb belly, was a lesson in how undervalued âcheapâ cuts of meat can be quite wonderful when properly handled: this was perfectly caramelised on the outside and meltingly flavoursome on the inside, served on a bed of crushed peas with charred baby gem and Jersey Royals, with a well-reduced & properly seasoned lamb jus. My sweet of pineapple came with both fresh & compressed fruit, a trace of pink peppercorn and a slice of coconut cake. My friendâs dessert of baked Witheridge o a slice of fruit loaf with apple jam and honey was almost a meal in itself, a quirky but very satisfying cross between a sweet & a savoury.Wines are fairly priced, the small selection of First Growths priced better than fairly. There are no halves, but a fair selection by two sizes of glassService was charming and helpful, but it was worrying to see it so quiet on a Thursday evening. So wake up Henley! This classy and accomplished restaurant would hold its head up in London any day of the week; support this local gem, youâll regret it if you donât.Strongly recommended.

In a lovely spot with plenty of parking at the station, this was a good experience. The steak was very good (and not cheap but in this case you definitely get what you pay for). Good selection of local beer and a very good wine list.Weâre so pleased you enjoyed your meal with us. And thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, itâs much appreciated! Our steak is particularly special. Itâs 28 day aged grass fed beef from the West Country. Spectacular cows! We really hope youâll visit us again soon. Kindest regards, Kevin

We came here for a belated wedding anniversary celebration. We had seen the owners on Saturday Kitchen a week before and had fallen in love with their cooking. We opted for the ten course tasting menu with wine selection from the sommelier Arnaud. I am not one to surrender the wine list lightly, but I am delighted that I did. Each course offered a taste sensation, some more familiar some new.All in all, this was as good as it gets and we will be back.

Went here the other night for our 4th wedding anniversary and came away so glad we did, it was the perfect night, food and service for our special occasion. The service as you would expect is exemplary and the food....wow is all we could say. Had the scotch egg starter and my wife had mushrooms on toast which were exceptional and then had a chateaubriand to share with sides of honey roast carrots, triple cooked chips and buttered greens with Parmesan and bacon. It was amazing to look at and tasted even better - seriously one of the best meals out we have had. We were so full we couldnât manage pudding but the staff surprised us by bringing out a little brownie and happy anniversary plate complete with sparkler which was a lovely surprise and touch by the venue. Anthony worrell Thompson came out also towards the end of the night to greet everyone in his chef whites which again was nice to see that he was in the kitchen making what is beautiful food. I would say this place isnât the cheapest but you do get what you pay for and it was worth every single penny. Will definitely be back and would highly highly recommend.
