Called here with friends for dinner and drinks.I ordered the steak pie, which was delicious with a thin shortcrust pastry top, served with new potatoes and a good mix of fresh veg.Good service and surroundings, my small bottle of wine was served to me in a small tumbler shaped glass, I requested a wine glass and was told I would find these on a dresser at the very back of the restaurant which was a bit odd, but did not detract from the food.

I am extremely fussy and have extremely high expectations of standards when it comes to hotels and restaurants. This passed every test with flying colours.Building - beautiful inside and out. Beautiful old world charm with really comfortable and high quality decor and fittings throughout.Staff - extremely friendly, professional and attentive, nothing is too much trouble.Restaurant - great quality food and wine with vert reasonable prices. I can't remember the last time I read a breakfast menu stating - order as much as you want. Equally I can't remember being offered a cheese board where you have so much choice and again with no limit on what or how much you wanted. I always find that a common problem is lack of choice on crackers, or the small number being insufficient for the cheese - not here.Seating areas - numerous quality areas both inside and out. Outside provides the most beautiful, relaxing views you can imagine.I'm sorry to go on so much, but that is due to just returning from the most enjoyable, relaxing and rewarding stay there. In the words of Arnie .... I will be back!

The Crown is Hawes' iconic pub set in the very heart of Hawes. Our menu changes daily according to seasonal ingredients. Food is prepared fresh every day so menus change daily. We prefer not to take table bookings so come along and see whatâs on our Speci
After a day visiting Aysgarth Falls and the Wensleydale cheese factory we had a lovely walk around Hawes Village browsing the shops. Before heading off to Blacksheep Brewery in Masham we called in here for a drink. My friend and I chose a pint of Barista Stout from Theakstons. It was delicious. We would definitely come back for another pint if we are in the area again.

Gin and Tonics were served already poured, no option to adjust strength. Our wine was brought to the table already opened, was it what we'd paid for? There was a problem with my husband's meal, manager was unbelievably rude. Have visited hundreds of restaurants all over the world, never been treated like this, could not possibly reccommend.

Thirty four of us visited the Creamery on our way back to Warrington after four very good days in Northumberland. We had been with Ellen Smith Coach Tours, our usual travel company and our great driver Brent. They had organised a demonstration at 3.00pm of how their cheeses are made and a lovely and amusing young Yorkshire lass gave the demonstration, which was genuinely interesting. There was then the opportunity to look around the Visitor Centre and purchase cheeses, which we did and then some refreshments in the dining area. For once on this trip, I had piping hot soup! This was a very friendly place with typical Yorkshire good humour and to be recommended.

After leasing The White Hart out for a year and a half Patricia and Matthew came back into the pub in November 2017. We take pride in providing customers with a quality dining experience in a relaxed and friendly surrounding. All of the food that we serve
Staying at a campsite a few miles away in the neighboring dale, decided to pop into Hawes for a family evening meal.Lovely central pub. Quite traditional with the whole fireplace and hand-pulled ales theme. However the food is the star of the show. Not saying we went in with low expectations, but we basically picked it randomly so hadn't given the food quality much thought. The food was easily the standard that decent restaurants charge considerably more for. My wife had the lamb (a favorite of hers) and with no sense of hyperbole, thought it was one of the best lamb meals she had EVER eaten. My seafood dish was also excellent and our four year old ate up all of his fish and chips. Can't be 100% certain but find it exceedingly hard to believe anywhere in town can match this place for quality. Service was also excellent, atmosphere very pleasant and prices quite reasonable. Can confidently say we will only be eating here when we return! Considerable compliments to all involved!

Had high hopes for this place. Iâve recently moved into the area and was recommended to visit this chippie. Iâve drove past it a few times and today I thought Iâd pop in with my partner. The cafe seating area is great, but it went all down hill from there.Despite waiting quiet some time for our food, we was disappointed when it finally arrived. The fish was terrible, it was completely soggy from the amount of oil, when I cut into it you could literally see the oil dripping of. The chips had no flavour and were just soggy, like theyâd been sitting there for a long time. Apart from that the pricing isnât terrible. But at the end of the day you are paying for garbage food.We left our plates pretty much full (and I never leave anything on my plate)Go at your own risk.
