We so wish we had a lovely local pub like this one in our village! Friendly and welcoming, excellent reasonably priced menu and comfortable seating areas. We had a very tasty, well prepared meal with good service. This is obviously the reason that this place was so busy on a Monday evening!

The Tea room is a very popular addition to the garden centre, it has been constructed in stylish up-cycled, industrial retro design, using individual pieces to create a unique space for customers too enjoy their refreshments. Luke Newson owns and operates
The setting alone has brought us back time after time for years, but for a while this terraced garden centre in Birdwood seemed to have closed. But re-invented as Leaf, there has been a transformation, and since rediscovering a favourite spot we have been back countless times over the past couple of months. The Japanese Acers that grace the entrance are to found throughout the gorgeous terraces and there is the feel of a well thought out and beautifully designed interior and exterior. (I could sit for hours on the comfy sofa reading the good selection of gardening books...)We lunched yesterday with rain threatening, but we braved the elements secure under the giant parasols. Coffee was excellent in the mugs they introduced recently. (We need mugs - older hands struggle to hold the handles of cups!, They found some for us on an earlier visit - they listen to their customers - so, now there are mugs...)The lunch we had was quickly served, generous in size and quite delicious. The staff are lovely throughout and ready to stop for a chat and a laugh and a great deal of useful information. On leaving you will be struck by the extraordinary views from the car park - and you know you'll be back.

My wife and I called here after a recommendation from the Waterways Museum. It is situated in a quirky and colourful lane that leads to Gloucester's magnificent cathedral.Fairly small and slightly old fashioned but brimming with great eats and drinks. Also the gentleman (Kevin?) serving customers proved to be charming, cheerful and friendly.Great coffee and cakes! Child friendly too. Highly recommended.

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime as a early birthday treat for my husband. Were greeted with a warm welcome and were looked after brilliantly throughout our visit .I chose the Steak and Stilton pie with chips and peas and my husband went for the Vegetable & Feta Crumble pie, both of which were delicious. The filling in mine had huge pieces of meat and the pastry was beautiful. The chips were really nicely cooked as well.Really liked the interior of the restaurant, spotlessly clean and loved being able to people watch through the windows :)Will definitely be back.
