Things to do in Gainsborough
A very late review!Great little place which is open in the evening Thursday to Saturday providing about 15 seats. Open daily as a sandwich bar.I visited on a Thursday evening with 4 friends and chose from the great set menu (Which I believe changes daily) I had asparagus to start, followed by the most succulent beef - it was similar to a deconstructed beef Wellington and melted in the mouth. This was served with chunky chips and a huge bowl of steaming hot vegetables.Dessert was panacotta served in a tiny cup and saucer. Divine!Great value for money and a lovely friendly atmosphere. Looking forward to going again this weekend

The Rose & Crown pub is set in a small quiet village location approximately 5 miles out of Gainsborough town. We have a large car park and a lovely family beer garden. During the summer months we hold 'free' barbecues and live bands in the garden, we have
We had visited the pub before for drinks, but had never eaten there until a few weeks ago. We took our son and daughter in law for Sunday lunch, and it was exceptional. Home cooking at its very best - everything was cooked to perfection- even the cabbage! The roast meats were all delicious, the roast potatoes crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the vegetables perfect. Look out Masterchef, this landlady, who does the cooking, would be a clear winner!!Wow thats a fantastic review. Thank you. So glad you enjoyed your meal and hope you will visit us again in the near future.Jenny

I won't pretend to be an expert on the Wetherspoons experience but I have been in a few recently. I have in fact been in this one in the last month a couple of times as it is my local and the service has been really decent. This Sunday however when I visited with my wife and children for breakfast it left a lot to be desired.I ordered from the app and I personally ordered an alcohol free ghost ship ale. When the waitress arrived she said that my alcohol free option was out of stock and reeled off the other alcohol free options. I decided on a kopparberg alcohol free cider. She then proceeded to bring me the 4% alcohol version. As someone with an alcohol allergy this would have been extremely unpleasant for me had I not noticed in time. This drink was swapped so no harm no foul.Once the drink fiasco had been dealt with we waited for breakfast, and waited, and waited. After 25 minutes I approached the bar and enquired about our food. I was told that if I had ordered at the bar instead of the app I would have been told that there was a 20-25 minute wait. This would have held water if the table next to us who arrived after us and also ordered on the app hadn't been served before us.The food when it eventually arrived was mediocre and definitely not worth the wait and from the orders going wrong on tables near us it seemed like the staff was just having one of those mornings.I'm hoping this was an anomaly as I like Wetherspoons and I like the Sweyn but I don't like alcohol and I don't like poor service. My apologies for your recent poor visit. You didn't say what date you visited, I would have liked to speak with the staff member that mixed your drink up as that could have been a big problem for you. I will reiterate at the next staff meeting about the importance of getting it right.

My sister booked this venue for our 50th birthday on Saturday. Staff were really helpful in ensuring we had everything we wanted throughout the night. Friendly service to our guests. We just had some sharing platters placed on tables but apparently they were really tasty - they certainly looked good. Thanks everyone. Thank you very much for your review Andrea, it is very much appreciated and we are pleased it all went well.

A quirky little tearoom that is very popular for Birthdays, Baby showers, Hen parties and Wakes. We specialise in afternoon teas but offer a full menu. We also provide outside catering at competitive prices. The tearoom is available to hire for up to 25 g
I recently visited The Vintage Tearoom with family who are not from the area. We had a lovely afternoon tea with plenty of fresh, well-filled sandwiches, sausage rolls, delicious homemade cake and warm scones which came with lots of jam and cream (we asked for extra cream- this was no problem and we were not charged extra unlike other places we have visited). We drank plenty of tea and coffee which we found out was all included in the price of the afternoon tea making it excellent value for money! The decor is certainly different and we all loved the hollywood wallpaper mixed with the vintage themed photos which perfectly suits the tearoomâs name. The staff were friendly and very accommodating- nothing was too much trouble. Overall, we had a lovely, relaxing experience - really enjoyed the 50s background music which made our visit all the better. We will definitely be returning and weather permitting on our next visit we would love to sit in the well kept , dog friendly garden. Thank you again ladies for a wonderful experience! Thank you so much for the brilliant review you have given our tearoom, we really do appreciate it when someone takes the time to use trip advisor when they are happy with a service rather than only if you are dissapointed with something.I am lucky to have terrific girls working here at the tearoom and they really are a team, they always give 100% and I couldn't ask anymore from them. So this type of review is a delight to read.thank you once again.Lesley Ablinowner.

We are a 241 marstons pub restaurant with the added feature of delicious pizzas made fresh and cooked in our pizza oven!!! We cater for all, wether its a bite of lunch midweek, steak and wine something from our specials board or a sunday lunch!! And the
We have eaten there on a Saturday Lunch (around 2pm). The pub was basically empty (maybe 10 tables max). We ordered at 2:15 starters and main. We had our starters after 30 minutes and only had our food at around 3:30. The starters were really good but the main (chicken grill) was inedible. We had dry chicken (so dry I almost chocked on it) as well as really sloppy and fat buttermilk chicken. But the real surprise was when the waitress (who was lovely!) went to get a manager for us. Indeed, the manager simply ignored us and never came. I definitely donât recommend this place to anyone who liked to be treated with consideration.I am very disapointed to hear you did not enjoy your visit with us on Saturday, i want to assure you i will be investigating this as guest experience is embedded as culture within this business and clearly you did not recieve the great experience i promote within my team. Please feel free to reach out to me on 01427 677520 if you would like to discuss your visit further.I apologise for this experience and hope we see you again for a more positive encounter. We stayed for a night at The Becketts as my husband was doing the British Superbike School at Blyton race track. It was the perfect place to stay, very close to the track, a lovely, cosy large room with tea and coffee facilities (including biscuits and even porridge pots and alpen bars!) Comfortable bed and lovely ensuite bathroom with soaps and gels. It was so great to get changed out the bike leathers and simply stroll across the way to the actual pub to have something to eat. The pub itself was lovely really nice decor and a fab beer garden... The staff were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome... The food was absolutely fantastic, beautifully presented and really tasty.. Perfect! We would recommend this establishment absolutely and will definitely stay again if ever we're in the area.

A friend recommended Reeds but id never been before. Living in Gainsborough, id heard of it but only really found out where it was when i started PT sessions in the studios above it. Lovely little place right on the riverside. VERY reasonably priced. Very polite staff. Lovely atmosphere. Beautiful food. I opt for the Eggs Benedict but they do some amazing things. Never heard any complaints.
