Find out what British restaurants to try in Faversham. Faversham /ˈfævərʃəm/ is a market town and civil parish in the Swale district of Kent, England. The town is 48 miles from London and 10 miles from Canterbury and lies next to the Swale, a strip of sea separating mainland Kent from the Isle of Sheppey in the Thames Estuary. It is close to the A2, which follows an ancient British trackway which was used by the Romans and the Anglo-Saxons, and known as Watling Street. The Faversham name is of Latin via Old English origin, meaning "the metal-worker's village".

A traditional warm and friendly rustic pub in the heart of the Kent countryside that oozes in character with its exposed wood beams, hanging hops, log burner & inglenook fireplace. The George, as it is affectionately known, started life as a farm building
Had dinner here whilst staying at Hempstead house(see separate review) It's a lovely old pub/log fire /lovely gentle background music(Bobby vinton/everly brothers /dionne Warwick you get tge picture) We started, with warm bread olives and dip The bread was fresh from oven and olives proper ones (kalamarta probably) partner had squid and, whitebait. I had the mussels in ale both very nice. Main course was stuffed chix breast and lamb and mint suet pudding with mash and veg. All cooked perfectly and the accompanying gravy was properly reduced and flavoured no bisto here!! Finished with spotted dick and custard. The waitress was extremely friendly and competent I thoroughly recommend here for a high quality reasonably priced dinner in lovely surroundings. And will be back for sure

A relaxed comfortable restaurant located within The Railway Hotel, Faversham. Serving fresh and predominately local food prepared by experienced chef Nick Martin and his kitchen team.
Three courses for under £18 can't be bad, however no one is going to get fat. The pigeon was bland, the pork belly and potatoes overcooked. The chocolate brownie nice but too small.Having read so much about the pork it was very disappointing.Plenty of room between tables and quiet unobstrutive staff. Real shame as really looking forward to meal.

What a great find, The Red Lion on the Ashford Road in Badlesmere advertises that their kitchen is totally gluten free. What a joy to think that you can eat anything from their menu without having to worry. We had the tempura vegetables with sweet and sour sauce and the Lion burger, both were excellent, followed by the homemade ginger cheesecake. The hosts were wonderful, the service was great and the pub is dog friendly. They have a fantastic outdoor eating area and a play area for the little ones in the garden. If you are travelling from Faversham along the A251 Ashford Road, stop at The Red Lion in Badlesmere, we will certainly visit again.

We visited with friends last Sunday for lunch and had yet another wonderful dining experience. The service was excellent, as always, and the three course set lunch superb value. We all enjoyed our three courses and Ruyman and Sarah were attentive and very efficient, as always. We cannot fault this local gastro pub and look forward to visiting again soon.

Wish it was the first night as would be returning to the Plough. Tucked away up winding roads then the green opens up before you with the Plough proudly at the head. Friendly welcome from team and locals alike. A pub where you can get a drink or have food, not like a lot these days where you are expected to eat but we chose to eat and food excellent. Very good atmosphere full of chatter and laughter. All beers/ ciders and fruit juices were from Kent, a true Kentish pub Thank you for posting your review, we are delighted to hear you have discovered us and enjoyed your experience with us. We hope to see you again next time you are in the area. Marianne & Richard

Homemade, foodie hideaway in a tranquil historic faversham mews. Café/bistro serving fresh, local & seasonal food. Community, arts & music centric.
The Yard is a lovely little establishment tucked down a tiny side alley of Preston St in Faversham. Don't be fooled by the small entrance, it opens into a cozy dining area with an eclectic choice of vintage style seating. I love getting a seat in one of the 2 armchairs that flank the fireplace or on a sunny day I'll take a table in the adjacent garden area. Coffee, tea and cidars are among the drink choices and the food is a wonderful selection of salads and sandwiches that are sure to please. I love the salad with warm brie, apples, and walnuts and a toasted piece of crusty bread at the bottom that I pair with a fruity Kentish cider. There is also a nice selection of desserts. I've been there several times with friends and my boyfriend who lives in the UK and it's one of out favorite lunch spots. I'm sure you'll agree with me.

Small country pub with two inglenook fireplaces, outside dining patio, and free wifi.
Great atmosphere, good food, good service made for an enjoyable evening. We had dinner inside, where it was a bit warm, but moved outside for dessert. Try the outside terrace on a summer evening. We are very glad you enjoyed your experience with us and hope you return.

Imagine a venue rich in history with a cool, retro vibe, high-quality food and the warm, welcoming atmosphere you get at home. It's right here. Pull up a vintage milk churn stool and prop yourself up at Kent's loveliest restaurant and bar for dinner, drin
Great food, beautiful decor & lovely to learn that by eating here you are supporting a small family business. Run with exceptional attention to detail and good old fashioned customer service. We stayed at the Cave resort and booked a taxi, costing £10 each way. Tried to Uber but not very efficient in this area atm, Iâm sure that will soon change! The steak was particularly enjoyed & we will definitely return when next in the area

The Dove at Dargate is a stunning gastropub set in the heart of the Kent countryside, only 15 minutes by car from either Faversham, Canterbury or Whitstable. Refurbished and reopened in August 2018 under new ownership, Head Chef William Shenow-Brady and M
Birthday dinner for 5. We'd heard some good things locally about The Dove and decided to give it a try. Service excellent, food superb, a varied and wonderfully in crafted menu. Presentation was really good, attention to detail very evident. It's in a Sheps pub so draught beer requires caution. Plenty of choice otherwise and an excellent wine list, many available by the glass. Highly recommended.
