The Manor is a well situated, comfortable country inn, providing high quality food and en-suite accommodation. The 17th Century Inn serves a variety of real ales and is Cask Marque awarded. It also offers a private beer garden and a sports bar with a pool
Stayed at the Manor for one night before our Coast to Coast trip. Very friendly staff but rooms are tired and need an upgrade. Would probably try somewhere else if we went to St Bees again.Thank you for your review. I am sorry that you were not pleased with the standard of the room your were allocated. We do have four rooms that require the bathrooms to be updated which we hope to carry out during the winter months. I hope you are enjoying the Coast to Coast walk.

I had a good feeling about this venue from my telephone booking.4 of us got a friendly welcome and were seated at a nicely laid out table. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The choice on the menu was interesting and mouth watering. We all cleared our plates despite the portions being more than ample.I think because the plates were nicely warmed the food stayed hot.The desserts were gorgeous, a nice changes from the usual. All together we spent a really enjoyable evening with excellent service, food and reasonably priced drinks. If I had one complaint it would be the rather musty smell In the entrance hall due, probably, to the flooding the hotel suffured about two years ago..
We came here for quick refreshment with colleagues: Cappacinio, Americanio, and white coffee. The service was excellent sitting in the table service next door. The Manager provided exceptional service, with good service gesture. My colleagues have eaten here before, provided positive feedback for the jacket potatoes, hand made beef salad bagettes. I certainly would come back here for met with colleagues, or with friends to have a chat. Good to keep valued services going for the community.

The Globe is a traditional public house that is a listed building and has some original features. We strive to be very welcoming and original. we serve very good Home-Cooked food and a selection of real ales. This is not a fast food outlet, and your eveni
traditional and fun with a brilliant atmosphere. My daughter has just moved into the area so we called here just for a pint - what a great place and amazing atmosphere. we are going back next week for food so keep looking.

Thought we'd try here for Sunday Lunch after reading all the good reviews, thinking it can't be that good......well it can be that good! Beautifuly tender beef, lots of vegetables cookedto perfection, probably the best Sunday lunch we've ever eaten out,and we eat out a lot. Only problem there was to much for my wife, she didn't want mashed potatoes so she was seved FIVE large roast potatoes instead,I cleaned my plate and didn't have enough room for a sweet which is very unusual for me,also the gravy was to die for!! The chef should be congratulated for this wonderful meal....we will certainly be coming back.

This little gem looks like a traditional fish and chip shop but it is much more than that. The fish and chips are excellent but don't miss out on the adjoining restaurant where there is a good choice of either eat in or takeaway options.

I have just returned from eating at The Brook Inn tonight with my hubby Ronald and while I have never left a trip advisor review in my life, I felt as though I needed to as it was really lovely!!! (not really sure where terry199 gets cafeteria standard from - our meals were far superior to any cafe!!!)I chose the Black and Blue Burger, which was a very delicious beef burger with black pudding, melted stilton and onion rings on a burger bun. The flavours all complemented each other perfectly but what impressed me the most was the size of this thing!!! Absolutely massive and I'm convinced it was nearly the size of my head!!! It came with handcut chips, a salad and obviously homemade coleslaw ... yummy!!!!We arent from the area but if we ever find our selves this way in West Cumbria again we will call back in for more beef burgery goodness!!!
