I was looking for somewhere to have a catch up with my wife over a weekday lunch, and good reviews pointed me here.Understandably it was quiet, but given this I was expecting a bit more of a warm welcome and attention to customer service. Instead it was very transactional, I had to ask for a number of things that weren't offered and there were no checks that things were to our satisfaction.I had a bacon burger, my wife the pie of the day which were edible, but not particularly enjoyable. Quite large portions that may appeal to some.Overall for the money (£25 with drinks) I would not say it was good value and I would go somewhere else rather than return.hi dave i am very unsatisfied that you had a experience like this at our venue, we do like to try and give a very welcoming atmosphere i would like to invite you back again to try again and hopefully the experience will be better for yourselfs many thanks Aaron webster

Mostly friendly, reasonable price and quality. Nine times out of ten I don't get any issues. Size of 'Large' fish often varies.

This is a lovely Country Pub/Restaurant in the countryside some 5 minutes drive south of Oxted. The restaurant has great views over the fields. Good parking. The food is British/International, good quality and reasonably priced. The service is friendly and attentive. On warm evenings a drink on the terrace is a must. Best to book as it is popular.

We were staying in Hever and had a lovely day visiting the area around Edenbridge so went to this pub for an evening meal. In a nutshell is was horrible. The room was grubby and had old Christmas decorations still up and loads of ash and old rubbish in the fire place. I had prawn cocktail starter and it was horrible. The prawns were smothered in a slimy right pink sauce, tons of it , yuck definitely not home made and so easy to do well. My husband had pate which was also poor. I had a burger for my main course and ended up taking it home for my dogs.it had a very unpleasant smell and taste. They claim to have a secret ingredient but it obviously doesnât work! My husband had scampi and chips and it was dry and tasted very cheap. The whole experience was terrible after eating at our hotel in Hever the night before where the food was fantastic. Also people at the bar were f...ing and blinding loudly which was not the ideal dining background. Never again

The King Henry VIII is a truly historic English pub, from its dramatic Tudor chimney stacks to its oak beams, open fires and panelled bars, all restored using traditional Tudor craftsmanship. The current building dates from 1647 but a pub has occupied the

Disappointed with Hever Hotel so booked here for dinner.Attractive Gastro type pub . Very friendly and warm welcome to an attractive dining room. Wines by the glass were an excellent Rioja and Merlot.Food was hot, tasty and prepared to order with a polite but fairly brief wait between courses. Not hurried to leave the very relaxing atmosphere. This is the type of pub that is a credit to the owners and proud that we can do things well as a country.A very BIG thank you.

Very welcoming pub restaurant. Staff were welcoming and engaging and made you feel that they were there to really look after you. Food was very good with a good selection of mains. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly even though very busy

Great food, a superb garden for children. Inside lacking a bit of ambience but will hold large groups so worth enquiring. Great food, faultless service.

16th Century Traditional Public House serving essentially home made British food which is organic where possible. Great Ales and fabulous wine.
This was a very disappointing lunch in what looked like a nice local restaurant. I ordered a chicken, bacon and advocado salad. The restaurant was not busy but it took a very long time for me to receive my meal. When it eventually came it didn't include any advocado! I mentioned this to the waitress, she checked with the kitchen and apparently they didn't have any advocado at all. This had not been mentioned when I ordered - if it had been then I would have ordered something else. There was no apology at all .I am endeavouring to understand the reasons for your experience which I find totally unacceptable.Consequently processes are now in place to ensure that this never happens again at The old Eden.Sincere apologies for your experience and look forward to you visiting The Old Eden again to experience our normal excellent service and quality food.
