Discover Restaurants offering the best British food in Cheltenham, England, United Kingdom. Cheltenham was just your average, sleepy town until the discovery of a spring in 1716, after which it became Britain's most popular spa town. (Like Palm Springs without the casinos.) Local Cheltonians have a reputation for being wealthy and respectable, and a walk along the Promenade will give you a first-class view of their wonderful houses, shops and gardens. After taking in the waters at the Pittville Pump Room (great name for a spa), check out the Art Gallery and Museum to learn about the social history of Cheltenham.

We had lunch whilst shopping in Cheltenham. The restaurant is down some steps and seemed rather dark inside, not helped by the dark and tired decor. However the service was very good and food was delicious. Everything cooked well and very tasty, reasonably priced too.

Seated within minutes, main course took a little while to arrive but not a problem (they were very busy), pleasant dining room with a lovely 'feel' i.e. relaxed and informal. Customers looked to be mainly local/regulars with a few tourists like us in the mix. Clean plates all around, always a good sign.I chose from the specials a T bone pork steak with chive potato cake, green beans and tomato ragu - really good, my wife had pork tenderloin with similar vegetables and a mustard sauce (we think) again really good. Followed by one sticky toffee pudding with custard and two spoons.

Critically-acclaimed, small, independent restaurant specialising in sustainable British seafood and local Cotswold produce.
The food was incredible and beautifully presented, however, a starter-main-dessert combo left us feeling hungry. In hindsight we should have gone for the tasting menu (5 or 7 courses) rather than a la cà rte. Italian wine was great. But we went home and had to make ourselves sandwiches to fill up

An urban infused plant-based vegan-vegetarian licensed cafe and restaurant serving breakfast, lunch & dinner in the heart of Cheltenham Spa.
I have been visiting Cheltenham for years. I am trying to eat clean but with amazing tastiness. A tough call sometimes, but not so at Vinnieâs!! I had vegan Chilli and rhubarb cheesecake. Gorgeous place, super central, relaxed, good mellow tunes, smiley staff and the most heavenly food. I am leaving fully satisfied and guilt free (health in tact)!! Thank you Vinnieâs!

Cotswolds food pub.
After deciding to give this a place a second go,,,After a so so meal a couple of years ago,,,,, Its an OK pub, If passing by But certainly not a "Destination" Pub The menu was one of the most uninspiring i have come across in ages, Apart from a jokey bit about "Brexit" Burgers ! The Slow Braised Beef & Sherry Pie, was naff, It came with a big lump of Puff pastry, With not much meat beneath it,, Nowhere near being good, Loads of average pubs do better Anyway my burger was quite good, With nice Bought in Burger patties ! Reminds me of Burger van days. The beers are ok, All in, a nice pub for drinks if passing, But on one side you have lovely Stowe on the Wold, And the other quite a few nice eateriesHi JohnThank you for leaving a review.Im not really sure how to respond. We used to make our burgers but volumes where that high that our butcher now makes them to our specification in Winchcombe. 100% chuck steak from the 7 Vales, 7oz in weight of pure beef. Homemade Willesey Smoked Baconnaise, award winning Taw Valley Cheddar. We currently sit at No.1 in the Cotswolds on TA for burgers as well as highly place by The Cotswold Gentleman, I am therefore surprised you have compared them with a burger van...Regarding our pie, I have only ever had 1 complaint in 4.5 years regarding any of our pies but I will investigate this as our meat content is usually 6-8oz.We all have different tastes and maybe we just aren't for you, as much as I would love to please everyone.Im sorry you were not pleased with your experience at the Halfway House.Kindest regardsTania

Traditional public house with pretty rear garden. Food served lunchtimes and evenings all freshly prepared on the premises. Nothing frozen nothing fried ( except the chips on steak nights!) . Fresh Stone baked pizzas and BBQ on warm dry evenings.
Popped in here for lunch, a small, clean, nicely decorated pub on a residential street, hidden away from the hustle and bustle of town.On first impression, I thought the menu was quite limited but we ordered a 'cheese sandwich' which was anything but a boring old 'cheese sandwich'. It was huge with loads of salad on the side. I had curried lamb shank. Oh my word!! It was AMAZING. Seriously good food. A huge portion too, which was good because I was very hungry, it came with rice and vegetables topped with pomegranate seeds, 2 small naans and it was absolutely delicious. The service was also excellent, I can't fault a single thing and can't praise the food highly enough. It is at the top of our favourites list now.
