We have to visit Castle Cary most weeks and go to The Place for coffee and snack which is always delicious. Staff are so very friendly and they also welcome our precious little Yorkie. Thank you so much. Highly recommend The Place

A wonderful traditional country pub inn with a warm welcome. Enjoy our modern dining restaurant and stay in one our elegant guest bedrooms. The Stagâs Head Inn at Yarlington first opened its doors in the 1850âs and weâre proud to welcome you to our charmi
Met some friends here for Sunday lunch, reserving a table was a good move as it was pretty busy. We had starters all the way through to dessert....all the courses were fantastic! No question or request was too much either, servers were attentive. Would certainly recommend if you were in the area

Matt's Kitchen is run out of Matt's house. It's intimate, unique and always best to book. Strictly cash only and BYO.
We had been recommended Mattâs Kitchen by a friend who lived locally during our visit to Bruton. Thankfully we listened to the advice. From booking our meal to leaving the restaurant post meal everything was straight forward and enjoyable. Matt happily catered for a vegetarian in our group and the rest of us were able to try everything else on the menu. Great to have some time in company of the chef himself as he explained his menu and made his recommendations. A choice of 3 starters preceded a choice of one main then a choice of 3 desserts. We tried them all and trying to choose a favourite with pretty much impossible. BYO drinks and cash only make the experience quirkier still but overall itâs an experience you shouldnât miss out on.

Came here for lunch the other day. It was busy but our meal arrived remarkably quickly, given the number of people there. Lovely menu. Good food, really tasty and they do smaller portions if you want to cater for people with smaller appetities. Really couldn't fault it. Will be back.

Outstanding quality and service for a Saturday afternoon lunch in this lovely countryside pub in the beautiful surroundings of Somerset. Simple lunchtime menu but superior quality food with real cotton napkins - a sure sign of quality and attention to detail. Highly recommended for food quality and a good choice of local ciders. The Local still cider form the village won the Champion of Champions for the whole of the UK

The Orchard Inn is a privately owned free house in a lovely Somerset village serving good quality, home made produce and reasonable prices. You don't have to believe us - go to our web site to see the most recent menu and prices. We are able to offer smal
Our walking group arrived early, but our pre-ordered lunch for twenty came out quickly and efficiently. Everyone seemed very happy with their choices and my steak pie was one of the best Iâve ever eaten. Many of us chose from the âsmaller appetitesâ menu, and it proved to be more than adequate. A great pint of Butcombe too!

Modern seasonal menu in a welcoming setting. Simple Food done well. Fresh juicing. Seriously good Coffee and Cake! Beautiful terrace offering outside seating. Vegetarian food always available.
My friend and I both really enjoyed our meals here - delicious food and a really nice atmosphere. I will come again the next time I visit Castle Cary.

We stayed for one night's dinner bed and breakfast. The room was very peasant and our evening meal was delicious. The service was very friendly and attentive without being obtrusive and we felt well looked after. Breakfast the following morning was equally enjoyable with outstanding quality ingredients. It's easy to see how Jools and Sally achieve their well justified awards - we will be back!

This is the second I have eaten here and the Sunday roast is excellent, well cooked choice of meat, beef, pork, turkey and chicken. Beautifully cooked vegetables and roast potatoes. Excellent friendly service. Tip if you havenât got a huge appetite op for the small portion even that is plenty of meat and vegetables. Choice of deserts is fantastic as well. Highly recommend

Recommended to us by the owner of a holiday cottage nearby, the recommendation was worth it for the quality of the steak I enjoyed, along with the chips and the accompaniments. Not the biggest range of food on the menu, and if my wife was writing the review she might have given 4* as the lasagna was not to her taste (plenty of mince, but only one layer of pasta, and to her taste a rather thick coating of cheese on top). Portions quite large. Would have liked a "lighter" option for desserts, the three on offer on the day we ate were quite stodgy so we settled for just coffees. Booked a table as it was a Saturday but it wasn't overly busy (in June but before the Glastonbury festival) and our reserved table (along with several others) was in the bar area near the kitchen rather than the restaurant area. Never-the-less quite pleasant surroundings. Service was unhurried - occasionally difficult to get the waitress' attention.
