A welcoming family-run country pub with good food and friendly staff. Extensive outdoor seating with a children's play area makes this a great venue for family dining. Food available all day at weekends.
Galley Hall is a lovely place, very comfortable with a great garden and patio area. The childrenâs play area was a hit with my 3yr old granddaughter. The staff extremely friendly. But sorry we didnât rate the food, we all had a roast dinner, which was a bit like school dinners. My granddaughter had sausage, chips and peas, which she said she didnât like, thinking she was being fussy we tried it and must admit, it wasnât very pleasant, sausage was cold and chips under cooked, we should have sent it back.We would go again but just for a drink and on a lovely evening to sit on the patio.

4 of us had Sunday lunch at this gastro pub. Staff were attentive & couldn't have been more helpful. Atmosphere was inviting. We chose roast pork and lamb. Once fat was cut off pork there was very little meat left. Lamb was tender. Vegetable selection disappointing; very few carrots & courgette was hard. Roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese were fine also the desserts. Nicely presented food but could have been a slightly larger portion of meat.Overall, a little disappointing and a little overpriced at £21.50 for two courses. Sadly, I doubt if I would eat there again based on today's experience. However, the lovely staff helped to make up for the disappointing meal.Hi James,We appreciate you taking the time to review your visit even though it was slightly mixed. The comments in relation to your main course have been shared with our kitchen. In terms of price, we do compare favourably with other pub/restaurants in the area withall of our dishes being freshly prepared.Hopefully, you will consider a future visit.

I visited the Sun today with family. Whilst the service was good the food was average and they had run out of a lot of things (including chips!) which seemed odd as we got there when it opened. I paid for a regular scampi which came the same size as the smaller bite meal. Sadly I donât think we will be returning soon as it was expensive for the meals we had.Hi Etaggie, Thank you for taking the time to feedback about your recent visit. Please accept my apologies for the average food and the availability of some items. We love having happy guests by providing great value, good quality food and certainly on the occasion of your visit we let ourselves down.I am pleased the service was good on your visit and do hope that you visit again so we can restore your faith in the team here. Please do drop me a line at [email protected] and I will reserve you a table.Kind RegardsJez

Lovely old pub with a great garden. Not tried the food but both the Sunday roasts and BBQ look great. Particularly like the fact the pub has live music, especially when the weather is good and its outside in the garden. Thanks for your comment ,you would not be disappointed with our Roasts all meat comes from our local butcher. All the best.Nigel and Mel

Wish I had come across this little cafe sooner! Great menu for breakfast and lunch. Food nicely presented too and friendly service. Only recommendation would be to offer more interesting drinks such as chocolate bar milkshakes like oreo or terryâs chocolate orange then it would be perfect for me! Will definitely return and also looking forward to visiting the Hoddesdon branch!

This was always the best local restaurant I. The area. Visited last night. Took staff over 30 minutes to put drinks on the table and starters appeared before drinks. Special menu disappeared. The half chicken was 2 small pieces of chicken with bone. Sea bass and rib of lamb was ok. Noticed prices gone up. Very very noisy o e section full of blokes drinking and loud conversation. Then music in small area where people eating. Couldnât have a conversation at the table couldnât hear ourselves talk. Would not rush back.Hi Tobyhertfordshire, thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent experience. We are disappointed to hear that you are not satisfied with your visit. This is a local restaurant for us and we have been here on numerous occasions. That said we canât recommend it enough. Even though the restaurant was quiet the waiter was very attentive and polite. The food itself is fantastic! Scallops and calamari for starters and Dover sole for my main and sea food risotto for the other half. A great selection on the main menu as well as a good selection on the specials menu. Also a great choice of beers and wines

Bull Pub
pub newly refurbished, much better. had jacket spud, tuna and salad, very poor portion size, think was about a tablespoon of tuna and very small amount of salad, nice enough, but you should certainly think about increasing the portion size, we were all still hungry after eating. good service very friendly staffThank you for your recent visit and for taking the time to post this comment. We always strive to give our guests the best experience. We arrived on a very busy night and was greeted by a friendly, efficient young lady who seated us straight away. As it was our first visit we first noticed the unique decor which created a lovely non intrusive atmosphere. Our waitress was clearly busy but she was still very attentive and our meals and drinks arrived quickly. We really enjoyed the whole experience and will definitely visit again when weâre in the area. Thank you Marvellousmarie2016 for your 5 star review and such kind words. We are very happy to hear you enjoyed your visit with us and hope to see you again soon.Kind regardsChrissy

Went with a friend and was very impressed with the service and food. Went with a groupon voucher which was a bargain for 2 people. Only thing Iâd say is more seasoning on the battered plaice, was a tad under seasoned. Love the noodles and chicken in the omelette.
