After several days driving through and around Scotland's most amazing driving routes, we stopped in Glenisla for our final night. It's a little way out of Blairgowrie but an engaging route out of the town. Plenty of parking for our cars and a very friendly welcome from (we presumed) the proprietor. My room (5 or 6 I think) was absolutely delightful; no wardrobe? No matter! Plenty of hanging space and drawers for a short stay. Quality fixtures, fittings and linen. Wonderfully warm and sound-deadened. The bar music was playing until quite late but with a few G&Ts inside it didn't bother me for long. The chef is a talent and I know they're doing their best to keep him. A superb little menu (Haggis bonbons anyone?) for both dinner and breakfast. We particularly liked the bar in the annexe which was modern and cosy, a welcome change from the twee wood-panelled examples you find in many older hotels. Finally, our slightly complex bills were resolved quickly and efficiently on checkout. A great choice.

Traditional fresh fish and chips .
Your first impression always counts a lot and on entering the shop the staff look great in blue colourful uniforms. Pleasantly asked for my order and told it would be ready as soon as it is cooked despite a few in the queue. We had Chicken fillets (7),for a change, and with a good amount of chips cost £6. All were very tasty and as just cooked very hot. Shop just off the town square so easy to find.

We have enjoyed eating here with friends and family both for lunch and evening meals. Kelly and Iain cannot do enough to make you feel welcome and the service is first class. What a fantastic menu they offer both at lunchtime and he evening. There are different specials available each time you visit. If you are vegan or vegetarian they even offer a delicious choice of food with a separate menu for each. You will be spoilt for choice. The desserts..well it's a difficult choice. You will just need to make several visits to try them all. The sticky toffee pudding and Eton mess are to die for!. What are you waiting for...go and try it yourself. Highly recommended.Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are delighted you enjoyed your visit to us and look forward to welcoming you back another time.Kind Regards Ian & Kelly

I was there twice, lunch and dinner within one year.Very comfortable parking.Staff eager to please.Interior in doubtful taste, I am afraid to say.Food partly interesting, but not worth the Michelin recommendation they keep since years, and which appears to be dated. Is on a similar level with the Droverâs Inn in Memus which lost the recommendation rightfully in 2019Not very romantic, nor appealing.

We had a great venison casserole (with 3 root veg mash) here whilst staying in the area. The meat was so tender and the whole meal was well presented & delicious. We also had a good, reasonably priced takeaway pizza from there another night as they were full in the restaurant. If you saw it when driving past, you might not be tempted to stop but once inside its a friendly, cozy pub with great food.

Had lunch here today with my sister and was delighted at the choice of specials on the menu. I had a large plate with falafel, hummus, flatbread, cucumber dip, coleslaw and side salad. The coleslaw was slightly spicy which was delicious and the salad was mixed and very fresh. My sister had a open smor-bread selection with 3 different fillings, all of which were delicious. We didn't leave a single morsel on our plates!

Open to the public and I have never seen a restaurant in a golf centre as busy as this one. Packed and really good.
It's always a pleasure to eat out at the Strathmore Golf Club Restaurant - they have got it down to a fine tee. Conviviality -great hearty food -marvellous plentiful carvery on a Sunday and to summarise.............although slightly away from the madding crowds, it does seem like the in place to go around here. Book in advance.Jenny -if you are lucky enough to have her serve your table is a sweetheart - she is guaranteed to make you laugh with a witticism or two. Don't pass by it if you are up this neck of the woods (as we are regularly on holiday) We are back up in October and hopefully my husband will do the honours ie drive for as Dean Martin said "âIf you drink, donât drive. Donât even putt.â with gratitude for a darn good watering hole and eating establishment. Louise, John, Kayleigh and Jess

Littleâs Restaurant has been open since early 2011 and has already established itself with a regular loyal clientele Willie Little is well known in the area and has a wealth of experience in the catering industry with Littleâs being the latest in a line o
Fell upon this place quite by accident. Remarkably warm on a cold day considering the restaurant sits within a converted church. For starters I had salted cod mousse with langoustine tails pickled with cloves and star anise. I needed extra bread to wipe every morsel from my plate........ absolutely delicious. Then had smoked king scallops served with a seafood selection. Did worry that the smoke flavour would hinder the sweetness of the scallops but so subtle it was a triumph. Again practically licked my plate clean. If I had to find fault I would simply say that âstraw friesâ are not my favourite version of cooked potato. My wifeâs goat cheese bonbons for starter and cheese soufflé were also equally well received. The service is relaxed but confident in the produce crafted in the kitchen. The pride and enthusiasm of the staff is palpable. All in all a very pleasurable and memorable experience. Without being too disrespectful to Blairgowrie, if this restaurant was located in any other major town/city there would be a 6 month waiting list!

We are located on the B954 approximately 1 mile North of the roundabout on the outskirts of Alyth. We offer a wide variety on our lunch menu - there are always daily specials too. We bake all kinds of cakes and scones and serve them with our homemade jams
We had opportunity recently to visit the restaurant on several occasions. We sampled breakfast...eggs benedict superb!...and lunch...and two evening meals ( Friday and Saturday).....along with occasional coffee breaks. The food was imaginative, well cooked and very good value. Donna and her team couldnât have made us any more welcome. The location of the stunning restaurant is amazing with views over the Glenisla 9 hole golf course. We just loved it here and would HIGHLY recommend it.
