Find out what British restaurants to try in Bath. Known for its restorative wonders, Bath was once the home of Jane Austen. Sure, you could attempt to conjure up this elegant city by reading Pride and Prejudice in your tub, but as Bath has a lot more history than your bathroom (we assume, anyway) you'd be missing out. A stroll through Bath is like visiting an open-air museum, with roughly 5,000 buildings in the city drawing notice for their architectural merit. After your stroll, soak in the natural hot waters of the Thermae Bath Spa, once a favorite of the Celts and Romans.

We didn't know about this restaurant but as we were staying at the hotel and in the spa for the day we booked a table for lunch. We were surprised at the quality of the food in any case but when we were able to have the 2-for-1 lunch the price seemed ridiculously low for such sophisticated and delicious food. Not only was the food delicious but beautifully presented with a bit of flair. I just hope they keep up the tradition as I would return to Bath just to eat here again. An attractive and comfortable atmosphere along with good service made this quite a special meal.

Had farmhouse and 12 monkeys. both excellent. Fries also really good. Not cheap but well worth it with decent beer selections Good midweek deals too on website.

Steak restaurant in Bath offering quality food in a great location near the Pulteney weir.
Iveta was the sweetest server that made wonderful recommendations. Never did we fill rushed to leave. The steaks were cooked perfectly, the side dishes were just as good as the main dish, and the appetizer was a generous size. Highly recommend coming hungry because everything was perfect.

The Bathwick Boatman is a tranquil slice of gastronomic heaven, located just 10 minutes stroll from Bath's city centre on the picture-perfect banks of the River Avon. Run by husband and wife restaurateur team Ben and Rosy Hall, the restaurant is set in an
Perfect location by the river with parking and out of the town centre. Staff very friendly and helpful and service excellent. Really good Sunday lunch menu with 4 meat options, 1 fish and 2 vegetarian. Nice selection of puddings. We had the lamb, pork and chicken, all served with veg and Yorkshire puddings. The meat was really tasty with crispy potatoes and the veg were nicely cooked. Made a real change from the usual over cooked boiled veg and rubbery meat! Chocolate brownie was more like a cake than a brownie. A greater choice of ice creams would have been the icing on the cake as I donât like coconut and vanilla is not very exciting. Maybe next time!

Small, busy, much admired, family-run restaurant; serving seasonal, locally sourced, freshly cooked food; charming and welcoming staff; sensible and honest prices. Set in a fine Georgian house in Bath's most beautiful position - between The Circus and The
Lovely food, beautifully presented, extremely tasty in every way. Limited choice for children but luckily both our 11 and 12 year olds were happy to have the steak which came with fat chips and the portions were plenty and not too many other flavours. The mackerel starter was beautifully tasty and well worth a try especially if you think youâve had mackerel in every way before. So many options to cater for allergies and intolerances too, the staff were so accommodating and attentive to your every need.Pricey but worth it.Thanks so much for your positive appraisal of The Circus Restaurant. We're so glad you and your children enjoyed it

Discover something new in a truly historic setting. Delicious dishes on an ever changing menu with French and Italian influences.
Eight is simply brilliant!! My partner is gluten and dairy intolerant and they accommodated that with ease. The dishes were absolutely delicious. We especially enjoyed the vegan polenta dish which was incredibly flavoursome. 4 dishes to share plus a cocktail came to £40 each (once we'd added a very well deserved tip) - brilliant value! Our server was super accommodating and friendly. Would highly recommend. Dear Jen, Thank you for your review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your evening and happy that we could accommodate your partners needs. We are glad that you liked your food and service and hope to welcome you back again soon.

Menu Gordon Jones is all about amazing food, with an element of surprise. All Chef's menus are seasonal, locally sourced and offer real value for money. To really tickle your taste buds try our dishes, all served by our friendly staff in a funky setting.
We were lucky enough to get a table at relatively short notice when visiting bath recently. Itâs in a slightly out of the way location but the restaurant is lovely in an understated way and The food really lives up to the hype. It was imaginative, beautifully presented and excellent value. The choice of music was great too! We also tried Ortira in Bristol and The Pig near Bath and the food at both were great . if youâre visiting the area, try them all!
