Hotel/Bar/Bistro - serves typical Gasropub food but at proper tables and chairs. Has Prosecco on tap!
Having an enjoyable afternoon at the Taste of Grampian festival seeing the best of local produce was heartening with so much quality produce on show. Heading home we called in to the Douglas Arms in Banchory which was quite atmospheric with a lot of people enjoying food and drink in the comfortable restaurant and lounge. We were advised there was a new menu with a lot of attractive tasty options on offer from a helpful member of staff. We decided on their healthy options of yummy sounding salads. The food was delivered reasonably promptly and was well presented. Have to say we were both delighted with our choices and will be back soon to try more of the options on their new menu. Nice place, friendly staff, decent prices and good eats. Thumbs up from us so do check the Douglas out.

The Raemoir Cafe was a lovely place but the menu was a bit too fancy for children. I had the jacket potato which claimed to have avocado, hummous and carrot, however when it arrived it was mostly red and yellow peppers which I can't eat so was very dissapointing. The whole place was excellent though.

A friendly, cosy gathering place where you can share locally and ethically sourced food. We invite meat-lovers, are vegan-friendly and our menu can be tailored to be gluten and dairy free! Try cake and a coffee, lunchtime dishes or evening candlelit dinne
First time visit and stunned by the utterly delicious cakes. Full of flavor, great texture, moist cakes and some really unusual and wonderful latte options like the turmeric latte. Chai latte was fantastic. Tables available inside and outside. Our kids loved sliding down the grassy bank until our tea and drinks arrived. Staff friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back.

Country House Hotel & Restaurant. Tor Na Coille is a 4 star, family-owned & run Victorian Country House Hotel, located at the western edge of the town of Banchory, on picturesque Royal Deeside. Set in acres of wooded grounds, this magnificent granite buil
Applauds all round for the staff at Tor na Coille restaurant and reception for their professionalism in organising a private dinner for our family of 19 which went very smoothly. We pre-ordered a variety of different meals for different palates, which they delivered together to our party on the button. We also arrived earlier than planned, but they managed to accommodate us seamlessly in their lounge while getting our dinner ready. The food was also superb, no-one had any complaints and all plates were finished. The decor to the lounge and restaurant was very nice, clean and comfortable.Overall, a very nice experience from a professional team who delivered above and beyond the norm.

A lovely setting, yummy food and great service. Went as a walk in for Sunday lunch and they accomodated us at a quiet table outside - perfect! Menu was varied and 2 courses with tea/coffee for around £24 is a good deal. The waiting staff were friendly and chatty and if there was a slight deal then very apologetic. Really enjoyed my visit and lunch.

Potarch Café & Restaurant has a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. We aim to consistently offer a wholesome menu using local, fresh and seasonal produce. For our younger customers we also have a large children's playarea which includes a sand pit, wendy
We stumbled on the Potarch while staying on Deeside and looking for somewhere to have lunch. We were intending to sit outside at one of the picnic tables as we had our wee dog with us and it was too hot to leave her in the car. However, the manager invited us inside as the place is very dog friendly. We were lucky to get a table as it was busy being Sunday. Once seated and restraining our excitable pup the manager again appeared with a water bowl for the dog and proceeded to give her some gravy bone biscuits claiming he always fed the dogs first! The lunch menu is more adventurous than many smaller restaurants but we quickly opted for the set lunch menu for £12.95 for three, yes three, courses. What a good decision that turned out to be. A choice of five starters of which I chose classic mussels with shallots and wine which came in a small cast iron pot piping hot and plenty for a starter all large plump and juicy. My wife had king prawns with chilli and followed with fish and chips which she declared moist and very tasty the modest portion being ample for a three course lunch. I had the slow braised beef casserole also in a cast iron pot which kept it very hot. For me, who adds all sorts of flavours to such things, it was a bit bland but nonetheless very tasty and tender and ample portion. We could both have been satisfied with that but since sweet was included I opted for the Eaton Mess which was a delight with strawberries and she had a fresh fruit salad topped with a lemon sorbet which she said was wonderful. We shall certainly make a point of eating here again. The staff were really excellent led by the dog friendly manager who who assume is French and he certainly knows how to run this small but popular restaurant, quietly directing the staff and watchful of the customers.Thank you for your wonderful review! Our staff thank you for your comments and we are pleased that your little dog enjoyed it too!We hope to see all three of you again in the future.

I'm from the US and I was visiting some friends as we were staying near Banchory..I have to say, great quality for the price. Right from the start we were greeted and sat and the service was attentive, as well as the other servers were attentive to the surroundings. I had the chicken and asked if I could have it with a salad, I wanted to stay light and they accommodated me. Also, the previous night we ordered takeout and fish and chips were AMAZING!!!!! I love the fish and chips here, as opposed to the states. Anyways, great place to eat. Great view on the patio and very accommodating to large parties and families.

We went to the Milton for lunch. We ordered soup and were amazed to see how small the bowl of soup was. The bread it was served with was stale and the soup was cold. My husband also ordered a bacon roll which came at the same time as the soup. The young waitress who served us was charming, sadly the other two waitresses were not so. Been before but was very disappointed this time. I left feeling very hungry

Family run Farm Shop and Tea Room offering the very best home made meals and cakes, using local and seasonal produce. Set in the beautiful Finzean valley in Royal Deeside, the shop has stunning views of the Estate and beyond. The shop sells a wide range o
Wonderful day so sitting outside was very pleasant. Our order was prompty taken and our sandwiches and soup arrived quickly. The soups were delicious and hot and the sandwiches were made with their own bread which was beautiful. My only complaint was that after lunch I wanted to buy a loaf of bread but the last onese were sold whilst we ate! Another time, we will be back! I left with some of their frozen meals which were very good. I'd recommend this place happily and can confirm it was busy, testament to good produce and service. Many thanks for your kind review and good to hear that you enjoyed your lunch! I'm glad you came to Finzean on a sunny day and were able to eat outside making the most of our stunning rural setting. I'm afraid our bread does sell quickly so if you know you are coming out to Finzean do phone ahead and we can set a loaf aside for you.
