Myself and my wife visited this hotel for one night this month. The bar area was open and outside looked great , pity it was too cold to take advantage of it. It wasn't the cheapest bar for lager compared to the other few bars which we visited but it had a handy pool table and staff were welcoming apart from Shaun who seemed to be having a long day!!!Breakfast in the conservatory was nice, food was excellent and service was first class. The room was small and bathroom smaller but value for money. The location was excellent as it overlooked Loch Lomond. We would like to visit again.John & AlisonHi John, Would it be possible for you to email some specific details over. Thanks, [email protected]

My wife, daughter and I had been into the Carrick Spa for the morning and decided to have lunch at The Claret Jug before heading home. The service and level of attention shown us by Mark was absolutely superb. He was very polite and pleasant and could not do enough for us. He was superb. The food was delicious if a little pricey and the atmosphere was lovely and relaxing. Overall a lovely afternoon following a relaxing morning. A treat.Thank you for taking the time to post a review on TripAdvisor. A Great Country Pub which serves great food!
We booked a table as we saw that they advertised a Sunday roast. OMG, what a roast. We have the Trio of meat. Beef, Turkey and Pork Belly. The photos do not do it justice. We also got a big bowl of roasted vegetables and ordered a side of Cauliflower Cheese. Not that we were hungry afterwards but we had to order dessert. Sticky Toffee Pudding and Marmalade Bread and Butter Pudding. We WILL be back.

We visited this terrific little restaurant for the second time. We had the advantage of the beautiful weather which enhanced the magnificent views. We spent a great three hours on the island which included a nice lunch served by friendly and polite staff.Highly recommended.

Stunning location decided to have lunch in the bar area and managed to get a table on the terrace overlooking the loch. Slow service to get our order taken when the food arrived one item was missing which took at bit of chasing up. Staff very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed looking at the whisky selection in the bar and photos of famous Scottish people.

Evening meal with family Friday during weekend break. I ordered salmon fillet which came with veg, it was superb. Husband had fish combo and sister and brother in law had fajitas. All excellent. Service was fantastic. Staff extremely friendly and polite. Venue was spotlessly clean. The view of the Loch was stunning. Would highly recommend and will definitely be going there again.

The main restaurant is stylish and informal, with striking baronial themed decor and intimate lighting that help pay tribute to the history of the building. This restaurant features an open kitchen, unique salmon bar and delicious locally sourced produce
Having dined here several times I would say the restaurant is nothing special and very expensive for the quality. The steaks are good, but not great. I recently had the venison and the accompaniments were terrible. A raw pear, skin on, cut up on the plate? Whoever thought that was a good idea shouldn't be working in a restaurant that sells 2 courses for £49 (though many of the dishes carry additional supplements).

We came her for my daughters birthday. Food was very well made and the view on to the farm grounds is great. This is a lovely place with home baking and true Scottish hospitality. There are llamas here also that were being clipped during our visit.

My husband and I had Sunday lunch here. We did 3-course meal paired with wines. It was outstanding, the whole experience: delicious food, great wine pairing, very attentive service, the ambiance of the place. The meal started with 4 amuse vouches, 3-courses and after petit fours. We ordered different meals and all of them were great as wines as well.Overall: Great value and wonderful experience. We would highly recommend this place and hope to come again.

The Cruin is situated along Loch Lomond about 5 minuted drive north of Balloch
We were invited to a wedding of our friends' daughter some time ago on a keep this date free basis and when it came around it was such a wonderful occasion that it is worth mentioning the venue, the Cruin restaurant on Loch Lomondside. The venue is about a mile or so beyond the better known Duck Bay Marina and is part of an estate involving newly built wooden lodges and chalets. The restaurant can only take 100 guests for a function and our menus were decided prior to the day. The food is absolutely delicious, plenty of it and set in a well laid out function room, also we had nibbles and canopes all wonderfully cooked and prepared , served by a happy smiling staff where nothing is too much to help. Best wedding meal etc that I can remember and a lovely evening dancing to a live band. Excellent day all round .
