The Bluebell is a smart, modern place to relax offering fuss-free food and drinks that retain the reputation for quality weâve hopefully earned at Stones. Come and join us at this beautiful old pub very soon. Dogs are welcome in our outdoor space and bar
Went for an evening meal to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. Staff were very welcoming and helpful through out. The meal was of a very high standard both in presentation and flavours. I would recommend this venue to anyone who enjoys good food and a pleasant ambience. The only minor drawback isthe tiny car park, so most people had to park on the road.Dear Geoff,Congratulations! Weâre pleased you were able to join us at The Bluebell and that we were able to contribute so positively to your celebration.Best regards,JadeOwner, The Bluebell

The Old Yew Tree Inn is a cosy village pub serving real ales and home cooked pub favourites run by landlord and lady Chris and sue
Went for a 'Christmas Fayre' meal - absolutely fantastic in terms of both quality and price. Hosts Christ & Sue were really welcoming and friendly and we had a wonderful evening. Would thoroughly recommend - normally pub Christmas meals taste like they have been cooked and then microwaved as required. This one was so fresh and tasty it could almost have come from mum's kitchen! A couple sitting adjacent to us said they eat at the Yew Tree at least once, but probably twice, a week! This pub might not be on your doorstep but it really is worth the effort to go there.

This curious little spot on a nondescript street in a nondescript village in Derbyshire has been attracting a fair bit of media attention, most likely because of its quirky interiors and charming affable host. So curiosity got the better of us, and we checked it out on one dismal rainy bleak Saturday morning recently. We were a bit confused about the opening time as noted on its FaceBook page as it didn't appear to be opened as advertised, and when we went in we were asked to return a half hour or so later - which we did. It's certainly a quirky spot. The interiors are a combination of shabby chic, mis-matched bric-Ã -brac and unusual paraphernalia occupying every nook and cranny of the inside. A multitude of ornamental bird cages hang all over the place; ornate mirrors adorn the walls; there are shelves bursting with unusual collectables, and a resident canary (I believe his name is George} chirps merrily away in his window-view cage.We enjoyed a simple lunch: a toasted cheese and ham sandwich, and a tuna mayo sandwich, along with a strawberry milkshake and a diet cola. The food was nicely presented, tasty, and represented good value for money.I wasn't totally convinced about the general cleanliness of the place. Apart from George the canary spreading his seeds all over the floor, our drinking containers and cutlery weren't pristinely spotless. We'll give it another go, probably in the summer when the weather it better and we can utilise the outside seating area (also filled with quirky bits and pieces). It has the potential to be an outstanding local curiosity.

Called for coffee and cake and we were highly delighted with this extremely friendly café. The banter between the staff and regulars is brilliant. The home baked cakes are wonderful especially the date and walnut cake. Everything is homemade and looks delicious. Small café but very popular. Must visit again for lunch.

Hubby and I visited for the first time today, as we have been looking for a new lunch spot. Nice central location and the cafe itself is nice. Quick, efficient, polite and helpful staff took our order. I had quiche, wedges and salad. Loved the fruit in the salad and the wedges were like crispy skin baked potato - definitely homemade. Quiche was very tasty. Hubby had steak pie, chips and peas which he also liked. Price was good and portions were large. Can't fault anything. Very good!

My son and now daughter in law booked this for a wedding venue. I am not rating it as the whole wedding package thing as I wasnât part of all the prep. Firstly the outside, lovely looking building, spotlessly clean and a beautiful backdrop. You can see how much attention has been put in to the exterior. Wonderful gardens and plenty of seating outside. The lights at night were really nice. There was ample parking for all the guests on site. Next the interior. Again absolutely spotless. Looks and smells clean. Itâs beautiful with an old barn feel yet modern. This place starts to feel a bit special. I canât express enough how clean it is. From the bar and restaurant to the function room. Clean as a whistle. Time to go into our rooms check in was effortless and we wasnât disappointed with our room as again spotlessly clean. What a lovely room. Bed really comfy too. Some tea, coffee and hot chocolate making facilities too. Air con worked a treat as me n the Mrs are a bit on the warm side most of the time. The wedding part that we was involved with seemed to go fine. I do want to mention the buffet they did. It wasnât your traditional buffet, this was something special. The chicken chasseur, if thatâs how ya spell it, was really yum. I mean I could have taken a bowl of that stuff up to my room and I would have been a happy boy. Everything was perfect. Breakfast time. Loads on offer. My better half had eggs benedict and these are her words âthese are the best eggs benedict I have ever hadâ and believe me we have eaten in many places with this on the menu. I had the full english, you just have to donât ya, and it was everything a full English should be but a bit smaller than I would normally have but thatâs the same wherever you go. Check out was effortless. All the staff we encountered during the evening and in the day were all courteous, respectful and seemed happy. The service we had was seamless. I want to say to whoever is in charge of the cleaning please pass on our thanks to your team, we were in room 110, because the thing that stood out for me was the cleanliness of this lovely building inside and out. Also a big thank you to the catering side/kitchen staff because the food we ate was amazing. Thank you to the entire team for making my sonâs wedding a perfect day from what I saw. Thank you for your recent review of The White Hart!Wow! What a fantastic review and lovely feedback. I will be sure to pass on your comments onto our teams and especially the housekeeping team as I know they will really appreciate what you have said.I will also let the team know about your comments about the wedding buffet and day itself, as a lot of hard work goes into every one we have.We can't wait to welcome you back and it is so great to hear about your son's perfect day! thank you once again for such lovely ocmments

The Horse and Jockey is a contemporary Gastro Pub and Hotel in Wessington, Alfreton, Derbyshire. Located in a recently refurbished historical pub building, in the heart of the village. We are focused on providing friendly service in a wonderful setting wh
Called in on the way past for a drink as we had seen that it had been done up since passing last. It had a nice atmosphere and we liked the new decor. We had gin and tonic and liked the antique looking glass that it was served in. The food looked and smelt nice, though the menu didn't look like it was fine dining and the fish and chops looked good. We did think it would be nice to go early doors for tea one night, so we will be back to try it. Bar staff were friendly, although busy in and out of the bar, so we had to wait a little while to be served, not an issue to us though on this occasion as were in no rush.Thank you for visiting us! We are pleased to hear you liked our new decor and found our bar to have a good atmosphere! We look forward to welcoming you back soon!

We managed 3 courses each.

Beautiful 15th Century Chantry Inn serving fresh home cooked food and cask ales. Function room available. Carvery Sunday 12-3pm.
I have already rated excellent and still do. However, having dined here five times in the last couple of months, I can now comment on some of the dishes. The sizzlers, lasagne, gammon, ham and eggs, salmon and poached fish are all superb. On a personal note-Great battered cod but still had skin on.The steak pie was a casserole with a lid of fragile pastry that shattered when you tried to put your fork in it. Otherwise very tasty. The Gumbo pepperpot to me was an expensive bowl of leftovers from other items on the menu.A bigger specials board would be good as then you don't always know what you're having before you get there. On a very personal note-they don't stock newcastle brown.Hi there, Thanks so much for your review, we're glad you enjoyed us enough to pop back so many times! We hope we can continue to allow you to try more of our dishes and find some more that do suit! It is often very interesting to hear different opinions on our dishes. Next week we will be changing our menu for our more autumnal selection, so we hope you will come again to try this menu too. Just for any future reference: We are always more than happy to take the skin off your fish and chips, please mention it next time. We take your note about the pies and are actually changing to a new recipe for the pie, it will be an all encompassed pie next time! And we just so happen to be taking the Gumbo off! - So I hope we have solved all the dishes that don't quite suit. We look forward to seeing you again in the future, Many Thanks! Olivia.
