Absolutely worth a visit. Unbelievable to imagine the horrors that took place at this park in Kyiv during WWII. Parking was relatively easy and there is a metro stop nearby.

Parkovy Pedestrian Bridge is one of the symbols of the city of Kyiv, and a favourite photo spot. Its distinctive silhouette is especially well seen from the observatory site near Volodymyr the Great monument. This is a light construction 400 metres in length that connects Kyiv city centre at the Right Bank with the recreational area and beaches of Trukhaniv Island. It was projected Ukrproektstalkonstruktsia Project Institute in cooperation with the world famous Paton Institute, and opened in 1957. By design, this is the welded bridge built using the automatic welding. Its length is 426.4 m, the width of the pedestrian zone is 7m. The bridge consists of the three central spans of hanging structure and two coastal areas of beam construction.Today, this is the only bridge constructed specifically for the pedestrian traffic over the Dnipro river; no vehicles allowed on it. Various extreme sports are practiced at the bridge, including the Bungee jumping.

Paton Bridge is considered a masterpiece of engineer-building idea and The bridge has been built betwrrn 1941 and 1953, and its main creator - academician Yevhen Paton - died a few months before inauguration of the bridge in 1953. The bridge was named after its famous constructor.It was for the first time in the world, that the building of 1543m long bridge was collected of the all-welded constructions. An entrance on the bridge from the right bank of Dnipro were set propylaeum of Doric warrant, and from left bank there were set two columns of 20 m high. Traffic across the bridge was opened on 5 November 1953.
