Yorkshire (/ˈjɔːrkʃər, -ʃɪər/; abbreviated Yorks), formally known as the County of York, is a historic county of Northern England and the largest in the United Kingdom. Due to its great size in comparison to other English counties, functions have been undertaken over time by its subdivisions, which have also been subject to periodic reform. Throughout these changes, Yorkshire has continued to be recognised as a geographical territory and cultural region. The name is familiar and well understood across the United Kingdom and is in common use in the media and the military, and also features in the titles of current areas of civil administration such as North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and East Riding of Yorkshire.

Wow. What an experience. I had not realised how little I knew about beer. Or the range of things needed to produce the different tastes and textures. It starts with what is in the water, moves past what temperature you use, and finishes with the variations of yeast available. Throw in some hops and grains and you have the mixture for a perfect afternoon.

Come and enjoy a most enjoyable brewery experience. Based in the heart of the countryside. This brewery is based in an old mill.In fact it's based in an old Spinning Mule room. We make real ale in the traditional way with a unique spin. Come and join us at one of our events or maybe book in for a brewery tour.
Lords has a really great atmosphere. Really relaxed and laid back. The bar staff are lovely and really friendly. It’s a great place to get together with a big group of friends and family or have a pint with one or two. I love it when bands are playing and the owners are great. Great job guys!! Keep Brewing!!

T&R Theakston Ltd is one of the oldest family breweries in Yorkshire and home of the legendary Old Peculier Ale. Visit this historical brewery in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales town of Masham. Experience first hand the craft and skill that goes into brewing our beers, the brewing process is built on almost two centuries of tradition, passed down through five generations of the Theakston family.2013 is a very special year as not only are we celebrating the 186th year of our company's foundation in 1827,but also ten years since we bought the brewery back from Scottish Courage and once again became a family owned independent brewery. Have a pint of our legendary beer in the Brewery Tap - The Black Bull in Paradise, names after the original inn, the Black Bull, where Robert Theakston first brewed our legendary ale and also the site where our brewery stands, once known as Paradise Fields. We always have six differnent Theakston Ales available on tap including our famous Old Peculier served from wooden casks. There is plenty to do and see including the Cooper’s shop where the cooper crafts the wooden barrels – one of the last remaining working cooperages in the country. Leave plenty of time to browse the gift shop full of ‘Peculier’ souvenirs and other Yorkshire delights.
We love this place. The tour was great and informative and the bat is a delightful little place. We had 6 different beers included on the price of the tour which was a good way to try them

An authentic and unique microbrewery in Hipperholme, serving 8 distinctive ales at any one time. Spotlessly clean and thoughtfully run, Cock o' the North provides an ambience second to none, the subdued lighting and measured sound system compliments the well appointed beer. Some 180 different beers rotate along 8 hand pumps on the polished granite bar. Attention to detail belies the ordinary exterior, therefore a wide variety of quality spirits, lagers and ciders are served. Keep up to date with all of Cock o' events through the group on Facebook. Search 'Cock o' the North' to become a member. Welcome, we hope to see you soon.
Been here many times to music events. Excellent selection of ales brewed on site, very pleasant and helpful staff and a great venue to relax and try the 40 plus different brewed ales and ciders.
