Find out what Brazilian restaurants to try in Morro de Sao Paulo. Part of Morro de Sao Paulo’s charm is its mix of upscale, new hotels and restaurants with older, shabbier pousadas and taverns. This car-free and carefree island has just one road and a handful of beaches… it’s a wonderful place to get away from it all.

We were staying in praia do encanto ( fifth beach) which is quite far away from all the restaurants and bars of beaches one and two. Decided to take a walk to beach number four and have lunch there. After one hour walking, we were advised by a local to try piscina. The restaurant is right on the beach ... Very relaxing atmosphere but maybe because it was not exactly high season. What was really special here was the Pirao that came along with the Moqueca. We loved it and would've gone back the second day had we stayed in Morro longer. I think it's worth having lunch or dinner here if you're around that area.

Toca do Morcego has a great view of the sunset but you need to get there early to get a good spot. Okay music, wi-fi, pricey and admission fee. I prefer appreciating the sunset at the Portaló Hotel Lounge which does not charge any admission fee, has better music and price and offers outlets all around.

Bossa Nova Bistro is the ideal place to enjoy a meal, tea time (with the traditional cheese bread), or a drink in a quiet setting and cozy ambient, with the best of Brazilian and international cuisine. Our menu carries the signature of Chef Georgio Rock ,
Got to this restaurant almost by accident, coming from a sunset at the mirante do farol. I had had a look for the best restaurants in the island on tripadvisor but this restaurant wasn't listed there, probably because of its lack of reviews in other languages (which is the reason I'm writing this one in English, more people should know about this place). We ordered spaghetti with shrimps and steak with mushrooms. The food took a little while to arrive, but the waitress was really sweet and came to our table often to remind us that it was taking a little longer than usual because the meals were all freshly made and I guess we were the first dinners of that evening. In the end, I had one of the best steaks I ever had (and I'm a steak lover) and my girlfriend was impressed with her shrimps. Also, the portions were quite big, expect to leave stuffed. But the best part is definitely the view. The restaurant is set on a big terrace facing the ocean, sitting on the slope between the port and the lighthouse. I almost regret going there after the sunset, as this is definitely one of the island's best spots to see it.I don't know if the staff speaks English and the menu was in Portuguese, but it's definitely worth a try. They don't offer "combo" options for two (at least for dinner) and they are a little pricier than the average on the island, expect to pay a little over 120 R$ for a meal for two.

For over 10 years we offer our custmers the sensation of experiencing the flavours of gastronomy made with art, which includes breakfast, snacks and dishes such as out traditional shrimp in the green coconut and the already consecrated Risottos.
Very nice place in Morro de São Paulo. Nice ambience. Agreeable, good coffe and light cakes. They went the very extra mile: my wife did not want regular milk. They produced coconut milk from scratch and made their first capuccino with it. Came out very very nice. So definitely would recommend. Will try dinner tonight

Gastropub with international home cuisine with Brazilian music, blues, samba, jazz in rustic outdoor porch and garden. Individual dishes. It's the only restaurant that serves lamb in Morro de Sao Paulo, amongst other meats, poultry and sea food. Salad cho
Delicious food for a great price. We came for lunch (around 2:30) and got the shrimp in coconut milk and the grilled fish with capers. Each comes with a side of potatoes, rice, beans, and a delicious salad filled with fresh veggies, cheese, mangoes and other fruit. Main dishes were between 20-30 reais each. Portions were big!Dice, the owner, was a wonderful host and cook. She brought lots of energy to the place. The restaurant is attached to a cute outdoor area. Even though itâs a little farther away than the main area, itâs worth the walk!

We were there for lunch following the recommendation of the owner of the pousada we were staying at. It's a bit out of the way as it is on the opposite side of the main drag but a worthwhile detour! Three out of the four lunch selections were tasty and well presented: the moussaka not so much as it bore no resemblance to the real thing.

We enjoyed an excellent dinner with our 2 kids. We had the seafood platter with lobster, clams, squids and fish served with rice and french fries. Food was great, service nice and the setting right next to the sea was wonderful. Our youngest does not like seafood so he had a steak which was also excellent.

The culinary of the Restaurant is e fusion of traditional brazilian food with a touch o international gastronomy. Our Chef created our delicious dishes based on fresh regional products.
We have been sitting in the terrasse on the square, very beautiful, in a not very busy evening. We ordered an 'argentinian picanha', that arrived very fast (too fast) in a ridicoulous small portion. taste was ok, but I felt it was precooked. The caipirinhas where too sweet, even after the reccomandation to put little sugar. But most of the evening was ruined by a terrible singer, it was a relief when he stopped, but they charged for the life music, even though it was not announced anywhere. Expansive and not worth it.
