Things to do in Garibaldi

Angelo's is a barbecue (gaúcho style) and grill house quite famous in the cities nearby for their meats, and their fame is well deserved. The food is great - tender, juicy pieces of great meat served non-stop and straight from the grill, while complementary carbonara pasta, french fries and cheese sticks are always replaced in the table.Their wine chart is reasonable and it's easy to find something to match the food (their wine is a little bit overpriced, though).Service is good and the waiters are good-humored and fast, but they are, in general, a little bit unorganized. They struggled to fetch us a table for 8 and it was funny to see that, once we were seated by one of the staff, there was another one in the other side of the room still looking for a table for us.The place is well-located (in the main avenue), and it's fairly easy to find a place to park. Also keep in mind that the place is small and seems to be always full, so it might be a good idea to call and make a reservation in advance if you don't want to wait outside (the place doesn't have a waiting area).

This was probably the best surprise I had in this region of Brazil. I had high expectations for this trip and I can honestly say they were all met and in this case surpassed. By far my favorite restaurant in the Vale dos Vinhedos, this small restaurant with a fixed menu which may or may not be paired with local wines, it´s your choice. This is slow food, to be eaten with loved ones, in a cozy setting and impeccable service. It was my birthday and I could not have asked for a better meal. The chef Rodrigo, came to our table and presented himself, the menu was explained and the dishes began coming out in no time. We decided to have a bottle of local wine (their wine list has the best wines in the region for very affordable prices) which kept getting better with every dish. The mushroom risotto was out of this world. Probably the best I have ever eaten. For dessert a pyrotechnical sensation with a flaming deconstructed apple tart. And since it was my birthday they sent out another dessert with a candle and the whole restaurant chimed in singing happy birthday. Another delight, a melted alfajor, which was the perfect ending to a cold night and one of the most amazing meals I have ever had. Congratulations to Marcia and Rodrigo (owners/chef) for such a lovely spot which made my birthday even more special.
