Lake Naivasha

Reviewed By DisneyDarwin - Spring, United States

Lake Naivasha is a haven for birds and hippos. We took a boat tour with an expert guide who put us right on the birds, over 40 species. Plus, we got a good look at several hippos. Then we went to Crescent Island and walked up the mild hill to see giraffe, antelope, warthogs, wildebeest and more, plus grand views of the surrounding area. On top of that, the weather was perfect, so we couldn't have had a nicer trip.

Mida Creek

Reviewed By PilipiliNdogo - Nairobi, Kenya

The adventure starts from the “wobbly” boardwalk as you balance yourself as you walk till the end, this was such a thrill Board your canoe here and the calm ocean gently rocks you to the creek, if the tide & water level is low you can get off at garden of eden to catch the sunset as the water turns to a shimmery gold, such a sight to behold! If you’re adventurous you can kayak, stand up paddle boarding or float around the mangroves in the creek experiencing it all and hopefully see some birds hunting in the shallow waters. We used a local guide who was very informative & affordable.

Mara River

AfricanMecca Safari scheduled the most wonderful safari I ever had. AfricanMecca Safari is very accommodating to your individual plans and schedule. I had a wonderful trip. Everything was perfectly organized by AfricanMecca Safaris to my entire satisfaction. This trip not only met my expectations, but was even better than expected. I stayed at the Little Governors' Camp. I loved the personalized attention, the tents, the food, the service. Everything was fabulous. Above all, of course, were the safari rides. My driver and guide was Joseph who was awesome. I was able to obtain very close photographs and videos of many animals. The highlight of this trip was watching the Great Wildebeest Migration. We could see the first crossing of the Mara River in 2018 taking place right in front of our eyes. We were the third Jeep to arrive to the scene, so we had an excellent viewpoint. Thousands and thousands of wildebeest, and many zebras kept crossing the river. We were there watching one of the best wonders of nature during almost 2 hours. Unbelievable! Unforgettable! Awesome! I highly recommend visiting the Masai Mara National Reserve which is is best place to watch the Great Wildebeest Migration with hundreds of thousands of wildebeest crossing the Mara River.

The lake and boat Tour are a must to do. The lake is connected to lake naivesha due to high water Level for some years now. Although Flamingos vanished a phantastisch range of birds can be observed. From eagle to pelican. Dead trees in the lake and several Families of hippos make it a magic place!! Monkeys giraffes Zebra etc can be spotted on the land. Ask for Steven to hire the boat. He knows Everything!!! Hanna and Michael

Lake Simbi Nyaima

Reviewed By EnricahDulo - Nairobi, Kenya

We passed by here briefly during a work trip to Homa bay. It wasn't my first trip, however, it had taken years since my last visit. We drove round the lake. Paid a guide to share the narrative or myth about the Lake. It a great place to visit, especially with small children so that they can learn a bit about culture and history. Simbi Nyaima is less that 5 minutes drive from Homa bay - Kendu bay road. You branch off at River Kibuon, opp. Obama Road.
