Excellent destination for nature lovers - we went on a random weekday at about 5 pm amd were amazed with the bird life on show - to see flocks of egrets, painted storks, huge flocks of black ibis, rosy starlings and several kingfishers darting around the edge of the lake was AMAZING - Bangalore is great for wildlife and this is an amazing place to see it!

Sankey tank which was constructed in 1882 to meet the fresh water supply demand, now houses shoals of fish, many ducks, swans and welcomes migratory birds. This man made tank looks like a natural lake. This place is easy to locate via google maps and is open from 6 AM to 8 AM and 4 PM to 6 PM. One can easily travel to Sankey tank via public transport. There is no entry ticket / entry fee. It is well maintained, hygienic, clean and is surrounded by old tall green trees with its branches widespread across the area. There are some small colorful shrubs, potted plants and lawn which adds to the beauty. It has a children's play area, a trail to run, jog or simply take a refreshing stroll, there are benches and gazebos to sit back, relax and enjoy the view . This is a good spot for photography lovers. Ducks swimming around in the lake flapping around or feeding upon some grains and the sight of various birds (local and migratory) is just soothing and charming. The quick flutter of morning birds, ducks quickly feeding off the ground at dawn and the attractive lights at dusk with its reflection on the lake gives the same place two different but equally beautiful views. This place is good for family, children and friends.

The beautiful Ulsoor Lake, located in the city center, went through a phase of being thoroughly neglected before it was spruced up again. Boating is a possibility here. A visit to this lake can be combined with a visit to the nearby Gurudwara (Sikh house of worship), Bangalore’s largest.
soothing place near MG road for the people in Bangalore to take a break from the relax. nothing as such ki people need to travel for it

Hebbal lake gets its name from its place Hebbal in North Bangalore. The best view of this lake will be from the famous Hebbal fly-over on the outer-ring-road (ORR). The lake is well maintained, with lush green trees and a beautiful sun-set can be seen from this place. I drive past this place every day .. and enjoy the view of this lake.

Cycling tracks with cycles available for hire on the spot. Walkways lined by water-facing benches. Sloping lawns that go down to the edge of the water. Home to many migratory birds, the huge, recently cleaned-up Agara lake is now a lovely spot for your regular morning/evening walks and weekend outings.
