South Africa’s most popular tourist destination offers the urban thrills of Cape Town, its adjacent wine country and an aura of the rich political history of South Africa. The Overberg's perfect whale-watching perches provide excitement of a different nature. The Garden Route's lakes and forests and the Klein Karoo's ostrich-farming towns and vineyards present another take on the Cape. For extra kicks, try bungee jumping or cage-diving among Great Whites.

Cairnbrogie is so much more than just a farm...it's a destination! Enjoy spectacular views of the Plettenberg Bay coastline while mountain biking or hiking one of our numerous trails. Fish in the dam, enjoy a coffee at the pump track and take the children to watch the cows being milked. By supporting Cairnbrogie you support an essential conservation effort, The Robberg Coastal Corridor.

The Homtini Cycle Route is a circular route starting from Krisjan-se-Nek picnic site. Distance: 19km, circular (anti-clockwise).
If you're only here for a short while and you need to choose an MTB trail, this is the one. 19km distance, plenty of hills so come prepares. Seriously fast singletrack through the forest, lots of tree roots to negotiate, then the killer climb...I pushed up most of the way but is all worthwhile when you reach the top. Finishing off with a fast singletrack back through the forest to the starting point. Took me about 1h35. Get your permit at the gate, park at Krisjan se nek, near the big tree and start. Route is well marked. Do it.

Now one of my favourite short(ish) mountain bike trails - 24kms. You start in the beautiful natural forest and are quickly onto a sublime single track. Not too technical although there are some knarly roots to catch you out if your attention wanders. Then onto a jeep track before getting onto a concrete single track which takes you straight down to the cliffs overlooking the sea. A steep climb on loose rocks and then undulations on a jeep track before the trail goes back into the natural forest and onto a fairly technical single track before you return to the start. Best done with a fellow rider!

Come and join the adventure in Jonkershoek. Whether you are a mountain biker, trail runner or hiker, we have a trail for you. Mountain Biking: 35km of plantation roads & 35km of single tracks, 3,8km green kids trail and pump track. Trail Running: 35km of plantation roads & 9km of footpaths. Hiking: hikes ranging from 3,5km - 53km
Nipped into Jonkershoek for a quick hike / trail run before flying out. Paid R50 and took my Corsa Lite hire car a few kms into the reserve. Park at the end of a loop road and walk. Superb trail for walking next to river and really not strenuous. Proteas were out, trails well maintained and safe enough to go on your own. I did the 2 waterfalls trail and round trip took me just over an hour if you put a bit of pace on it. Strongly recommend this. Alternatives for MTB trails with many different distances.

We did most of the trails and enjoyed them all. Some were more challenging than the others but all were in good shape
