Walked from Brecon to Talybont along the tow path and what a fantastic walk !! Managed a quick refresher at the Royal Oak in Pencelli (right on the canalside) - super little pub.

Lovely walk through the Welsh countryside and woods. There are several paths to take, well signed with intermittent posts and coloured arrows. Beautiful scenery and great for dogs. Our walk took approximately an hour.

If you venture off the beaten paths here - starting at the corner through the style you are treated to some lovely hidden paths. Nothing wrong with the bigger paths but I prefer wandering through the older parts of the woods where the trees are closer together and the path less obvious.

Amazing bike park. We stayed here for two days biking and wasn’t disappointed. It’s mountainous so tough hill climbs but so worth it. E bikes are brill here!!! The views are amazing and the downhill trails exhilarating. It has a lovely river running through the valley with an easy trail to explore for the less adventurous. We’ll be back.

Bike Park Wales

BikePark Wales is the UK's number 1 mountain biking destination. We have 40 sections of lovingly created bike trail on our 850 hectare (1200 acre) site. We have an on-site uplift facility allowing riders to get a lift to the top of the hill with their bike in order to enjoy the descents, much like at a ski resort. Riders wishing to pedal to the top may also do so via a single track trail. We have trails to suit riders from intermediate to expert level rider and we also offer on-site coaching, bike hire, a lovely Cafe with log burner and an onsite bike shop. The top of our mountain offers fantastic views of Pen Y Fan and the rest of the Brecon Beacons.

Great place to ride. We stuck to the blue trails, which are a lot more challenging than you might think. The trails are absolutely brilliant, but the staff are what make this place what it is. Professional, helpful, and friendly. The lovely chap who set up my 14 year old sons hired Trek Remedy took extra time to ensure it was set up properly for his size and weight, even though there was a long queue waiting behind us. Big thank to you him for making my son feel comfortable on his first BPW trip! And then there was the uplift van driver - typical Welshman - super friendly, super helpful in ensuring the bikes were all strapped in safely and helping out the smaller and younger riders, and full of banter. I hope these guys are there next time we go. They are a great asset to BPW. The canteen can get busy, and it took us around an hour to get our food and have lunch. Next time we’ll bring our own food to save time, and just eat in the car. The car park is literally next to the cafe anyway. The food is basic. £9 for a burger. All in all, a great day. A BIG thank you to the two staff members mentioned above again! ????
