Located in the centre of Nivelles and with grand views of the renovated Church, LOLI Ambiance Lounge offers the discerning diner a relaxing yet rewarding gastronomic experience. The name is suitably descriptive and staff are well organised and efficient, the tables not too close to be imposing and the food just what is expected from a professional french-speaking chef. Located at the front of the restaurant tables are of a tall design, but with correspondingly high chairs there is no discomfort. Other patrons were quiet and respectful - no noise or raucous behaviour and a non-smoking policy ensured a very pleasant interlude. Sadly though, the only disadvantage was that English was not spoken by the staff. The menu is not vast, but contains a number of meat and fish dishes together with special "meals of the day" all served with a choice of potato options. I was relaibly informed that the restaurant is noted more for these options than anything else - but better to make a reservation and try for yourself.

Don't know about this town, if you don't make a reservation, you won't be able to eat in the highest rated restaurants. This is the case here. I got in because I stayed in the hotel and can finish before 8. Really good food, and worth the trouble. Three course for 35 euros. See the pictures.

This restaurant is only a specialist of cooked fish as sea bream, sea bass, cod, sole fish, etc. Lobster and Mussels only on reservation the day before your booking.
The staff was friendly and the presentation of the food was fantastic. However, I wasn't that impressed with the quality of seafood and a friend got sick the next day after having eaten the Wolffish. Paying close to 25+ euros per main would demand a little more in terms of quality. Maybe we were there on a wrong day but we aren't going back in a hurry.Hello sir, We are very sorry for your friend who was sick but we're not sure that it depend of our food and our quality. We are delivred twice per day and the freshness of our product is very very important for us.The next time (we hope!), can you tell us directly your disapointing and we are sure that we could find a solution.Thank you for your adivce.Best regards, Maxime Van Bellingen.

We had lunch mid-week. The waitress serving us was extremely pleasant and knew the menu well. Starters and main course were delicious, but portions were small. The downside was that the service was very slow especially considering that there werenât many people in the restaurant. This may be due to the very small kitchen. For dessert, we ordered the pain perdu with ice cream. The price wasnât indicated on the menu and I was very surprised to see we were charged â¬12 for one slice of brioche and one scoup of ice-cream!!!!

We ate at the Philippe Meyers restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday. That was an excellent choice. We were lucky enough to taste the "asparagus festival". Marvellous. All dishes were perfect and with a special asparagus aroma, We will definitely rremember the asparagus sorbet. The two waitress were really professional. They managed to change the dessert for a great sabayon

We had the pleasure of having a very nice lunch sampling the "plat du jour". This is a lunch that is usually served during the week and consists of a starter, main course and dessert and changes every day of the week. We took the wine option and were not disappointed. The food was excellent although the portions were copious for us small eaters. It just seems that the older we get, the less quantity we like to eat. The only reason I didn't give this restaurant five stars is because my mother and I asked to have smaller portions (I dislike wasting food) by having one piece of meat instead of two on the plate for the main course. To our disappointment we were served the regular large portion anyway.Hello, thank you for your appreciation. Hope to see you again with smaller portions ... it's promised!

I am sure you enjoyed the artistic work delivered by the chef and the quality of the taste goes even way over the look! There is not one single course not hitting the best mark, all was simply perfect, we had no comment whatsoever about the whole experience!A quick word about the place itself, it is beautifully decorated, three main rooms and the building itself is gracious and outstanding.Next time, no doubt, I will go for the water selection just to try it, we had a couple of spiced waters and woaw, discovery again, matching so well with the dishesâ¦they definitely have resources. It is like their garden where they grow their own vegetables that you also can see in your plateâ¦One little thing though but I know they are working on it, not enough rooms available to sleep over⦠I booked the evening in October for mid-February and I had to go to a B&B nearby but as I had to drive, I only drank one glass of wine.Dear Serge, Thank you so much for your comment. This is really meaningful for us. We are happy you enjoyed your time there and to know that we will welcome you another time. About the rooms, we have now 11 so we do our best to welcome our guests for a sleep over as well :)Sincerely

I went here simply to try the number one rated restaurant in Waterloo.I was initially worried as the entrance via a nondescript car park doesn't make it look too appealing, but inside it's nice. The staff were friendly and the food was good, but in all honesty, I can't say that this is the best restaurant in Waterloo - it's good, but not the best! Some other little things, I was regularly ignored when trying to order dessert, and it took me some time to order it.Worth a try though.

What a pleasure to discover a place that has kept up with tradition while adding just a touch of modernism. None of that molecular BS, just proper cooking. These guys could be the proud successors of Pierre Romeyer!Service impeccable and friendly. Wine list impressive.Highly recommended

Visited spur of the moment on the back of an excursion to Hergé Museum, ordered a kids burger, cheese burger, and Caesar salad, ended up being charged for 3 adults meals but given we were English I just assumed it was us that ordered it wrong, not sure we did, however letâs give them the benefit of the doubt, the burgers were very peppery, this wasnât the sauce but the actual burgers. After eating half both my son and I had to stop as the peppery after taste was becoming too much. The chicken Caesar salad my wife ordered was very dry, over cooked, cold chicken, Iâm pretty sure it was meant to be warmed out but not sure they got round to it. Long story short, save your money and go to a fast food restaurant, you may be disappointed with the fast food restaurantâs food but you will have saved yourself â¬70 and not missed anything.
