We visit the Mikke already for years and years and also my family does. And it keeps on being satisfying and qualitative honest food. The place is not really cozy but during the years you become used to it and gives you comfort of nothing has changed so also not the food and the way food is served. Very friendly waiters, always the same which adds up to the fact that they don't change a winning formula. You cannot make reservations here so sometimes you need to wait a bit. I always switch between the steak en scampi's, which are great! For starter the soup, shrimp croquettes or shrimp salad, very simple but very good.. nothing more needed!

Renowned restaurant at the Belgian Sea Coast. Renovated in 2015. Trendy bistronomy with a contemporary interior. A large menu and choice of seasonal suggestions.
Just great food. Professional and very friendly staff. Some original dishes like e.g. lobster grilled in the green egg (very advisable, super), and of course some pimped classic dishes. The kids had chicken with fries. This was the most tasty chicken they've ever got. So, no rubish for the kids, just top quality.

My school friend was driving from Brussels to meet me after 31 years and I was looking for a nice place serving good local food at a reasonable price... and got more than that! It was last Monday, I went there 2 hours earlier to book a table and there was only one available... that was already a good sign. Sitting at our table, outside on the terrace, was lovely in the evening sunshine. The service was really friendly, and in French. And the food was just what we wanted... delicious fondus au parmesan, shrimp croquettes, scampi's, and of course chips/mayo! Oh, with my favourite drink of the Belgian coast, a sangria! Merci le Parasol!

I had the suggestion of the day for lunch, which was a typical dish (vispannetje), albeit with french fries for I guess the tourists. Before there were some olives as well as pumkin soup and bread. The soup was ok, but lacked flavour. The same can be said for the main course, in which the little shrimp were not freshly peeled, and the whole was rather watery. The service was attentive and friendly, and the setting is nice. Plus point is that it was open, even in November. A negative point for small eaters is that you cannot order just a starter. You really think 19 euroâs is too much for what you got?For the price you payed; 19â¬; you got a pumpkin-carrot soup with fresh baked bread and butter, a portion of olives with garlic, a fishermanâs plate with steamed saumon, steamed cod, mussels and FRESHLY PEELED shrimps, a fish "waterzooi" sauce and gratinated with parmesan cheese, french fries âà volontéâ and mayonaise!!! But you still think 19 euroâs is much too expensive for this??? This is so FUNNY!!!! You really make us laugh :-) :-) !!! I do not know what you are used to pay for soup, bread, olives and a fisherman's plate!!!The âwaterzooiâ-sauce, you call it âwateryâ⦠???????And all our starters can be ordered for main course â¦!!!!! Do not lie!!!So please be correct en fair when you put something on Tripadvisor! Certainly when you only pay 19 euroâs for staying in a restaurant!

We where immediately shocked about the prices. So we only took one main dish. We also stayed with one glass of wine. We have to say that the food was perfect, but the atmosphere is anonymous. The young servers are well trained technically, but you don't feel welcomed. As there are no curtains or other fabric to lower the acoustics, the place was far to noisy so everybody had to talk very loud. It nice if you like snobbish places, but we have other preferences.

This restaurant was opened in February 2017 by a young couple. Nils cooked and Sofie served us a delicious dinner. Both appetizers and main courses on the fixed menu were picture perfect and delicious. The elderberry dessert was amazing. Sofie's English is excellent and her young daughter charming. A great recommendation from our B&B and at the Carnac Hotel so easily reached by tram.

Their name says it all :) -> Enjoy a great feeling, Feeling great.Very friendly place. Family run. Zen, quiet and peaceful. Very clean.Large choice of snacks, pancakes, waffles, every day Belgian dishes. They propose daily menus (fish, shellfish, meat). Their coffee is served with a tiny piece of cake and a shot of yummy creamy "Avocat" liquor which is a Belgian speciality. This drink has nothing to do with avocado. It's made from Genever alcohol, egg yolks and sugar. You don't drink Advocat/Advokaat, you enjoy eating it with a spoon.Reasonable prices. No parking problem. We always try to enjoy their pancakes, waffles or something light whenever we are in the area.Highly recommended.

Very nice place to relax when you have walked in the dunes and on the beach on a windy day in winter. We visited in mid-January when temperatures were around 5 degrees C.

This place offers such an amazing all round experience, combining a splendid and daring choice of tastes, smells, flavors and sounds. Every single dish is absolutely sensational, both in looks, taste, smell and personality, and the passionate owners add so much more to this culinary feast that a new benchmark is set : any restaurant visit after this will never be the same.
