The restaurant style is ok, but the menu is very limited and the food not that great for quite a high price for the stuff you get. Nice terras in the summer. I would suggest, just go there for a drink and a small bite, but no main course

Village bistro just in front of the church/main square. Open all day long, which is great for a late bite. Nothing spectacular, but friendly stuff. Offers an ordinary selection of 3 or 4 soups, 3 or 4 pasta dishes, some salads and some (frozen and microwaved) main dishes. This didn't bother us, we were just happy to find a place which is open throughout the afternoon to serve us a hot lunch after our long walk.

We had a lovely diner at De Cantarel. My partner had scampi's, big prawns, in a mild creamy sauce and she found them delicious. I had a duo of game, tender as butter and cooked to perfection, accompanied by season's vegetables and a lovely sauce. Staff was very friendly and prices very reasonable. A place to recommend!

Well, this wants to be a luxury restaurant, so be prepared to pay the prize. Serving only set menus, no "a la carte", which came as a bit of surprise for us. They have two menu options one for 37 and 50 euros, aperitives for around 10(I didn't take a look on wine menu so I can't tell the prices). The food was allright, its only minus : the main course(fish dish like "sole meuniere") was far too salty. I really loved the desert skillfully reinvented "crepe suzette". The decoration of the restaurant and the views (+terrace) are worth it. Moreover, the staff was EXTREMELY friendly and comprehensive. So all this created a great atmosphere that compensated for the quite average main course. For all what you get, the price is acceptable without being exaggerated.

Herberg Moeder de Gans: with an atmosphere of its own! Picturesque, rustic & small-scale countryside. A cosy outing in a nostalgic atmosphere & an environment where folklore & tradition belong by the daily life. Where the quality of simplicity is normal.
The place is a great stop , relax in the nice garden , it's a famous stop for bikes , walking , ... so could be crowdy . friendly staff and we had great food.

The reception was very friendly and personal. We really felt at home and very welcome. We had the eastern menu accompanied by fine wines. The chef was on top of his game and makes the difference. The food was well balanced, and I especially liked the bellpepper crème brulee. Well done. The main dish, lamb chops was good and solid. The chocolate desert was good, but the (abundant ) use of cream made it a tad heavy. The price quality ratio is excellent. This is a good, solid restaurant with a chef who knows the tricks and trade of classic French cooking.

Afspanning De Swaen in 's-Gravenvoeren (Voeren) already served as a resting place for horse and rider midway through the stagecoach route between Liege and Aachen in the 16th century. Now is the perfect place to enjoy a drink or a meal on the terrace, in
Set in an 18th-century house and courtyard, De Swaen offers local specialities such as trout and cheeses from the region, commonly called the Voerstreek. Yet the real attraction is the cosy atmosphere and extensive beer list, which offers a number of Belgian beers including trappists. Don't miss the Grimbergen Blond, which I understand is not available in the United States. It's a great place to stop to rest if you've been hiking or bicycling in the region. About at 45 minute bicycle ride from Maastricht, Netherlands.

Trains traveling over the Montzen track pass a tunnel which runs underneath the Voerense Bos between Teuven, Veurs and Sint Pietersvoeren. It's a fantastic hike already. A break at the trout farm however makes it even better. It's situated near the "Schloss der Commanderie". Dishes are surprisingly high end although basic but delicious trouts are also on the menu. Try the local Chardonnay with it. It's from a vineyard only a few hundred metres away. Beer lovers should try the Commanderie 7. The atmosphere is good. Staff is very friendly and ably. The decoration could use a little attention to go better with the great products and service.

Hoeve de Bies is under new management since August 2018. Maurice and Peterhans worked together at a two Michelin-star restaurant before and now they have this absolute magnificent place. We had an extraordinary dinner that easily beats other restaurants in the region by a mile. The wine selection is splendid as well and the service is excellent and very friendly. Go here!
