The city was built to house the Université Catholique de Louvain; following the linguistic quarrels that took place in Belgium during the 1960s, and Flemish claims of discrimination at the Catholic University of Leuven, the institution was split into the Dutch language Katholieke Universiteit Leuven which remained in Leuven, and the Université Catholique de Louvain.

Never in my life have we left so much food in our plates. We ordered nachos, California burrito, steak with fries, "fillet americaine" et boullet avec tomato sauce and fries.Fries must be made out of card board I guess, they are absolutely horrible. Unforgivable for a country famous for its "frites". The guacamole and the salsa in the nachos are horrible, terribly taste and texture.Attention: the "fillet americaine" is raw meat!!! I had forgotten, agh! I didn't like it. The steak was good though! Yuhuu. Nice fast and efficient staff. Nice enough terrace. Must be fresh in the summer nights. Go there for a draft beer, which they know very well how to serve, some appetizer without high expectations and a nice chat with friends in the terrace. And that's it.

For my birthday, I decided to invite ten old friends to a restaurant. When I lived in Louvain-la-Neuve, I mainly studied English. Considering that, I thought I might better invite my friends to an English place, or at least to "an English sounding place". That's the reason why I chose the restaurant Le Cambridge. I called them a couple of days before to book a table for eleven people. When we arrived (all my friends were with me), a waiter first said he didn't know my name. I then asked him if someone had booked a table for eleven people. He recognized that it was right. I asked him what the name of this person was. He replied: "I can't recall it, but it was an ugly name". Such a shocking answer! Such a blow in my jaws! On my birthday, surrounded by my best friends! I would have liked to vanished under the ground!One of my friends got angry and suggested that we leave straightaway. However, I decided that it didn't matter, my name was just a name and it wasn't as ugly as that fellow pretended. I told him we were these eleven people they were expecting. Without apologizing, he showed us our table. The rest of the time we had there wasn't as horrible as it had started, but it was conditioned by this awkward start. We ordered, had dinner and I paid. The food was bland and the service cold, if not downright rude, like at the beginning. I will never go back there, even if I was paid a fortune to do so.

Visited spur of the moment on the back of an excursion to Hergé Museum, ordered a kids burger, cheese burger, and Caesar salad, ended up being charged for 3 adults meals but given we were English I just assumed it was us that ordered it wrong, not sure we did, however letâs give them the benefit of the doubt, the burgers were very peppery, this wasnât the sauce but the actual burgers. After eating half both my son and I had to stop as the peppery after taste was becoming too much. The chicken Caesar salad my wife ordered was very dry, over cooked, cold chicken, Iâm pretty sure it was meant to be warmed out but not sure they got round to it. Long story short, save your money and go to a fast food restaurant, you may be disappointed with the fast food restaurantâs food but you will have saved yourself â¬70 and not missed anything.

it's just a place for a quick lunch, don't expect more. their panini and spaghetti are not outstanding but acceptable. I particularly like one male servant there - he is always cheerful, helpful and warm, which is rare in Belgium as they are mostly cold or rigid.

La Crêperie bretonne is the best crêperie in Belgium. There is a very large choice of both sweet and salty crepes. My favorite is the crêpe with mushrooms. It's open from early morning to late at night. It's only two hundred meters away from the train station. It's an ideal place to meet friends or even for a date. As a student, I went there at least twice a month. Good memories!

Enjoyed lunch at la Galoupe. The interior is nice, with a mezzanine. The atmosphere is intimate. With nice weather, there's a terrace. We enjoyed the salad "Comme là -bas" and the hamburger. Both were very tasteful and originally presented. We also enjoyed the extended list of beers available. Service was friendly and very fast.

The atmosphere is amazing, the hotel is brand-new and I loved the place (9/10)The staff was new, yet more than ok: kind and smiling even if you could notice the processes are not in place yet - which makes sense; it had just opened (7.5/10)The menu has some unusual and original choices and whatever you are having is well-prepared, tasty (9/10) and in reasonable quantity (7.5/10).Usually, hotel rates are high and the notes become pricey but I found it very reasonable.Overall experience is a 8.5/10 - I'll go back, and probably sleep there as the hotel looks very nice (receptionists are amazingly kind, professional, friendly and patient !!)Dear, Many thanks for your positive review concerning your stay here in Martin's Agora.
