We ate at the Philippe Meyers restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday. That was an excellent choice. We were lucky enough to taste the "asparagus festival". Marvellous. All dishes were perfect and with a special asparagus aroma, We will definitely rremember the asparagus sorbet. The two waitress were really professional. They managed to change the dessert for a great sabayon

We visited this restaurant on a Friday evening, and took one of the set menus. It was extremely good value for money; beautifully prepared and presented fresh food. It wasn't perfect - for example we had a parsley sauce which was a little too salty, but overall it was a very good dining experience. The wine was not overpriced, the service was friendly and efficient, and we will definitely return before too long!

Located in the centre of Nivelles and with grand views of the renovated Church, LOLI Ambiance Lounge offers the discerning diner a relaxing yet rewarding gastronomic experience. The name is suitably descriptive and staff are well organised and efficient, the tables not too close to be imposing and the food just what is expected from a professional french-speaking chef. Located at the front of the restaurant tables are of a tall design, but with correspondingly high chairs there is no discomfort. Other patrons were quiet and respectful - no noise or raucous behaviour and a non-smoking policy ensured a very pleasant interlude. Sadly though, the only disadvantage was that English was not spoken by the staff. The menu is not vast, but contains a number of meat and fish dishes together with special "meals of the day" all served with a choice of potato options. I was relaibly informed that the restaurant is noted more for these options than anything else - but better to make a reservation and try for yourself.

What a pleasure to discover a place that has kept up with tradition while adding just a touch of modernism. None of that molecular BS, just proper cooking. These guys could be the proud successors of Pierre Romeyer!Service impeccable and friendly. Wine list impressive.Highly recommended

We spent Christmas day here, lunch time. The food was OK. Service was kind and with a smile. The choice is rather limited but what was served was well prepared. Not worth taking a detour, but when you are in the town, OK to go to.

When I received the phone call to ask if we fancied dining at this establishment, I was a tad hesitant. This is because the last time I went there, I was so deceived I vowed I'd never go back.So upon walking in, I see nothing in the way of decor has changed. The chairs still make a God awful noise when you move them. The boss (her husband more like) didn't even acknowledge our entrance though he was less than a meter from the door. We were shown to our table by an extremely polite young man who would look after us along with the other young lady.Let's not talk about the drinks because my G&T was perfect. The food however..... Well I ordered a chunk of red meat with a shallot sauce and fries. The meat was absolutely fine but the fries (and the croquettes on my daughters plate) showed that the oil needed changing. I tried my daughters venison and it was absolutely awful. Tough, overcooked and badly presented. I tried it which means this review should not be removed for commenting on another persons plate and I did pay for it. The dish was unseasoned and was the final nail in the coffin as far as my thoughts on this place are concerned. I shan't be going back but will say that if you like nothing but average, then this place is fine for you. But with so many good places in the village, this will never be a place I would consider for myself. This said the waiting staff were absolutely spot on and a credit to the place.

This is a warm atmosphere with a roaring fire on which the chef grills meat.I haven't been in warm weather so no idea if it is bearable inside or if he cooks outside to lower the temperature inside. It is not a cheap brasserie, but the meat is absolutely excellent. Tender, juicy, tasty. It comes from a special place and the boss does not cut corners when it come to quality. His side salad has a terrific "vinaigrette". Not a very extensive menu but there again everything is fresh and there are also suggestions that are regurlarly modified. No exceptional wines on the menu even in the more expensive ones, but there again, this depends on your taste and mine are clearly not the same as the boss. The boss is smiley, but one of the staff curiously looks like "Dobby" from Harry Potter and it is a little bit harder to get him to smile. Other member of staff are very welcoming. On average a very good place to eat or party, and certainly a place to go to when you want a good hearty meal with excellent meat and large (very large) portions.

We had an excellent meal there on a Saturday night in November. Very attentive service, really delicious food, particularly good beef, extremely well cooked and presented and a clever 2 size appetizer menu. Desserts were delicious too.The wine list was totally adequate. The atmosphere is smart but relaxed, the room we were in had the atmosphere of a loft as the building used to be a craftsman's workplace. Lovely place for a meal en famille, not terribly romantic though unless the other dining room is more cozy. A very good address indeed.

I don't normally do reviews locally as I want to remain fairly neutral in our village however, Dimitri and his team deserve a mention. Right from the moment you're welcomed in this converted bank, you know that you're in a nice relaxing environment. We took our apéro in the reception area before walking past the glassed kitchen to our table. The seating area is very contemporary with tasteful decor. For starters I went for classic garlic prawns whilst Lady S went for noix St Jacques. Both dishes perfectly cooked and nicely presented. Now the best bit if you're a burger freak. You can receive a separate card and construct your own burger. This is a really neat idea, and I'm sure more varieties will appear soon. But my cheeseburger was pretty darn good. The quality of the ingredients is pretty high and I love the fact that you can see into the kitchen and the chef who's obviously loving what he does. This is s welcome addition to the local eating scene and already seems to be pulling them in after only 6 weeks. I seriously expect that soon reservations will be obligatory.Really enjoyed our evening.
