A friendly, family run establishment ideally located close to Southport's famous Lord Street, Promenade and Southport's Theatre and Conference Centre. Whether you are here for business or pleasure, you are assured of a very warm welcome and the hightest standards of cleanliness, comfort and hospitality. As with all the guesthouses in the area parking is limited and is allocated on a first come basis. As well as a typical full English breakfast being available there are vegetarian options and if advised at time of booking a tofu vegan dish can be prepared.
We booked this last minute as it was very reasonably priced and included breakfast. We received a warm welcome from Gary and Shirley. We had the small double on the 2nd floor. It was clean, tidy and had nautical features to the room. There is no view from the window but as we don't spend a great deal of time in the bedroom when visiting places, it wasn't an issue. Breakfast was freshly made, local ingredients and was cooked to taste. When Gary realised I didn't eat egg white he gave me 2 eggs which was a lovely touch. The ensuite was spotless, the shower very good and water pressure was very good. Another nice touch was having a bottle of water replaced in our room every day. The hotel location is just behind the promenade so not far to the beach. A lovely few days away.

Tucked away at the trendy corner of King Street and Portland Street, just a stone’s throw from Lord Street, is Southport’s newest and most stylish place to eat, drink and sleep. Our Staff are welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. First class service in superb surroundings, combined with outstanding food, is of the upmost importance to us. Whether you visit us for a drink, for dinner or to stay in the hotel, our aim is to WOW you. Visit The Metro to experience it for yourself, we promise you won’t be disappointed.
Book 1th till the 2th the bar Should be open to residence whether or not the residents are in there or not come back at around 10:15 pm to finish the night off at the bar we were told to go to bed had to have a drink in the bedroom very unhappy couldn’t believe it been to this hotel many times think we will find another location in Southport Had breakfast in the morning wasn’t it off to standard like the times we have been The food was mushy no yoghurt the bare minimum The owner of the hotel should retrain all members of staff to keep the custom as it’s not a bad hotel but seems to be going downhill?

Resident owners Josie and Ian would like to welcome you to Edendale House a family run guesthouse. Peace & tranquillity with friendly service. Set in a residential area of wide streets and Victorian houses. One of the very few hotels that can offer an off road parking. The dining room is delightfully decorated with breakfast served at separate tables. There are eight bedrooms situated on the first and second floors, which are accessed by stairs. Every room has a TV, clock, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, and complimentary toiletries for your arrival. Every room is individually decorated and has its own thermostatically controlled central heating radiator. Edendale House is only a short walk from most of Southport's main visitor attractions, but less than an hour away from Liverpool, Manchester, Chester, Preston, Lancaster, and the Lakes, perfect for a touring base.
Me and my mum stayed here as a birthday break away. We were welcomed straight away and instantly we felt at home and we knew we had come to the right place! Our room was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean! We couldn't have asked for more. Breakfast was spot on. Again, it was like we were at relatives house and we'd gone to stop the night. The whole experience was a 10/10. We will definitely be going again.

Big thanks to Ian and his staff for making my stay comfortable and enjoyable. Booking direct with Ian is very simple and very quick. The room is very comfortable and warm. Great shower room. The adjoining bar has great food and drinks to offer. This is to second time I've stayed and will be looking forward to booking again when I call to see my brother. In a great area of Birkdale. Thanks again Ian. Look forward to seeing you next time. Thanks to Ollie working the bar.

The 14 rooms are spread across one floor, some facing the famous Lord Street. All rooms feature super comfy bed/s and sleek bathrooms. Each room is equipped with a flat screen TV and has access to high speed Wi -Fi. Superb location, within walking distance of the Promenade, Southport Theatre and Conference Centre and The Atkinson Theatre. Shops, restaurants and wine bars are just a short walk away. So is the train station with frequent connections to Liverpool and Manchester. Parking is available off-site 125 yards from the property. In the evening wander into the Peaky Blinders bar downstairs to try one of our 15 draught beers or enjoy a glass of fine wine
Stayed on Easter Sunday. The accommodation was pretty appalling - we didn’t expect an upmarket experience but the room was so small you had to climb over the other person to get out of bed and the place was grotty especially the shower room. No excuse for failure to clean the accommodation

Newly converted from a bank to a cosy real ale and wine bar with brand new rooms above. Close to Meols Hall and next to all village amenities. A wonderful spot to enjoy the sunshine (if and when it arrives !)
Stayed in the Thomas Shelby suite, very luxurious. Amazing bathroom, very comfortable bed, great nights sleep. Staff were lovely and very welcoming. Bar area really cosy, good food which was well priced. Would definitely visit again.

I recently stayed in this hotel and was disgusted to find after waking up the matress sheet to have a dirty white stain with addition evedence to leave me in no doubt this bed and not been changed after the previous guest, I also used the bathroom hand towel that had been nicely folded to find when opened up to be dirty on the inside again confirming the room had not been cleaned and fresh clean towels added, shocking and made me feel dirty until I got home to shower and changed
