The coral island of San Andres is a diverse ecosystem of reefs, geysers, groves, and cays. Needless to say, it’s perfect for diving, snorkeling, and outdoor exploring. This paradise has multicolored warm waters and 12 mangrove forests, and the beach cedars of Johnny Cay are like natural condos for beach birds. Keep an eye out for overlooked pirate treasure at Morgan’s Cave before chowing down on rondón, a signature Caribbean dish of fish, pork, conch, plantain and coconut milk.

I was so happy to stay there, nice people, good hosts, nice pool and comfortable rooms. I went to the Island to take a scouba training for three days, and I wanted to have a nice, comfortable and quiet place to stay four days and get focused on stay relaxed; and this is such a good hotel to have all that. PS, breakfast included was great.

Stayed here last week for three nights. Check in was fast and easy. The staff was always super friendly, helpful and for those of you who don't speak Spanish, their English was better than mine. The room had two double beds, was spacious and clean. The AC worked well. The bathroom was large, modern, with plenty of counter space. There was a wet bar with a sink, coffee maker and fridge. Over all the room was very comfortable. There are a few things you should be aware of. There is no elevator, but the staff is very accommodating if you need help with your luggage There is no hot water to the sink, but there is to the shower. I asked about this and the staff confirmed it. The internet worked well, with one exception. If you have an iPhone, each time you leave, it disconnects you and you must get a new username and password from the office. The staff will gladly give you several at once, so this is not a major issue. There is coffee in the lobby and a coffee maker in the room, but the room coffee maker in the room is the type where you put a filter in and brew the coffee. The coffee in the room is instant, and the warming feature on the coffee maker does not heat the water up warm enough. I always carry an immersion heater, and this worked fine. The location is excellent. It's about a three minute walk to the beach, and there are countless shops and restaurants nearby. Overall a nice place to stay with a wonderful and helpful staff.

I tried to send this recommendation to the owner of the property, but as I was expecting, he does not care enough about his property to bother to reply to me. Here are a resume of our experience in this so-called Hotel: 1.- After a few years of the hotel being open, it is clear that they need to invest in maintenance. Our room had a faucet ready to fall and a rusty and broken metal wire on top of the shower. Fallen lamps from the ceiling. Basically, lack of maintenance. Decoration is not anymore like in the pictures. Furniture need repairs, etc.. 2.- Hotel Staff: a bunch of 19-20 years old run the hotel the best the could. However, when you are paying almost 100 USD per night, it is not an excuse. They lack training proper welcoming, no uniforms, walking with music in the cellphones while working. Check-Out was even better after 7 nights at the hotel: No one came to say Bye or to apologize for forgetting to organize our taxi to the airport. Priceless. 3.-Kitchen: Breakfast is a First Come first served. If you want to have something for breakfast, wake up at 7:30 otherwise you will be left with the leftovers. The kitchen produces almost the same amount of food for brekfast, no matter of occupation of the hotel. There are 6 items to pick to have breakfast, half of the days there are only 3. I guess it depends on the mood of the Kitchen Staff. You can book directly from their website with dinner included too. My recommendation: DO NO DO IT Dinner is the experience from hell. 5 of 7 days we had 2 hot dogs for dinner with a tortilla. Half of these days the hot dog was the one of the previous night refried. I would be full of shame to present any of these dinners to any guest. 6.- RV Parking: to welcome you into the property, there is a nice RV parked in front of the reception, where 2 members of the Staff sleep at night. Great view! 7.- Cleaning: 7 nights in this "hotel" and not a single time the sheets or towels where changed. Almost everyday the floor is mopped, but no a single day within the week there is a deep cleaning of the room. Even if the client does not put the towel on the floor, after 3 days the property should change them. 8.- Room Toiletries: to welcome you, you will have 4 soap units that will be all you will receive along the 7 nights of your accomodation. Do not trust the pictures in Booking or Tripadvisor. There is no Shampoo or conditioning. I have been in hostels that care more about the guest that this hotel. 9.- In our SUNSET Room: there was lights coming from the garden during 5 days, really complicating the experience of sleeping. After the 5th day, those lights were off for some strange reason. This hotel is a gem! 10.- Communications: administration and guest communications are outsourced, so do not expect nor fast responses neither great coordination with the Hotel Staff. If you are an experienced traveler and you are considering staying in this hotel with your family or your partner, I will challenge that idea, find something else somewhere else in the island.

Excellent customer service. Awesome people and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Good facilities with swimming pool and in a good location. The staff at Brisas del Mar are always ready to help. Thanks to Nayit for the good service.

This place must have paid reviewers because I do not understand how it could have such good reviews. The place does not look like the photos. The staff was rude, there were many bugs, the bed was hard as a rock, and the service was terrible. And if you rent a room with the jacuzzi like I did, know that there is no heat, these are just small cold water baths. As a matter of fact, our shower didn't have hot water either. I will say the only redeeming factor was the chef, super friendly guy. To top it off, the owner is a liar and a slime ball. Trust me, you will find better places to stay. I would suggest booking any other hotel on beautiful San Andres!

The owner, Gloria, and Alex are very attentive and can help you with whatever you want. Some rooms have air conditioner and beds are reasonable, all clean and very simple. The bathroom don't have a shower, just a tube with cold water (which is not a big problem because San Andres is so hot). They rent a good car to go around to the island with a good price. They don't have breakfast but you can cook in the common kitchen. And despite of sweet Gloria, the location of the hostel is not so good. It's located very near of the airport but far from the downtown. Some people say they can go there in 15 min by walking, but for me, it's not a good way and at night is a little bit dangerous because you need to pass by something like a forest. I always returned by taxi and a tip for this is telling to the driver that you wanna go near of the new control tower of the airport.

San Luis PLace by Dorado, we are located 20 minutes from the airport, in the residential area of San Luis on the beach, in front of the beautiful Caribbean sea where I could see the aquarium key; It is located on the main road of San Luis, free of any stress and ideal to rest. We have 16 rooms, 4 with ocean view with balcony and 12 rooms are standard with side and front view to the main road. We have breakfast service, which is paid directly at the hotel.
I went with my husband and son. The design of the San Luis hotel is a whole lot beautiful than many hotels on the island. Although, the rooms are nice and clean but nothing special. We stayed for four days and there was no room service. The restaurant had all kinds of food but the food in the San Luis Hotel is a little better than in the other hotels. The special dishes were very expensive. The juices and lemonades weren’t made with purified water and my husband had a terrible stomachache. The beach is beautiful, the only thing you have to keep in mind isn’t to go when the island is in dead seaweed season because the smell is terrible.
