Reviewed By UkiTravellerWe got married Castello Doria in Porto Venere and stayed at Locanda Lorena on our wedding night and it was everything we could have asked for. We ate a delicious meal at the owners restaurant which consisted of authentic Italian cuisine and fresh seafood before returning to the villa for the night. We happened to get the entire villa to ourselves which was perched atop a sea cliff with romantic views of the Italian coast and the Mediterranean. The island has lots of hiking trails, some sea caves and an interesting history. The hotel staff treated us like family and made sure every need was met. The owner had pictures in the restaurant of most of his guests hanging on the wall so we made sure to get one with him for ourselves! We like to explore new places but it will be hard not to come back here year after year! We will definitely be back to celebrate a future anniversary and our wonderful memories of our wedding stay.

Big and cozy rooms, terraces and garden where you can have a great breakfast, enjoying local pastry and focaccia. The host can also offer car park at good rates (consider to book it, as parking in Portovenere is not so easy). Relais Santa Caterina is just 2 minutes walking from the heart of Portovenere. 5 stars to Martina!!! She will make your holidays perfect, providing good advices for places to visit and where eating local cuisine.

The room was very clean and the view was breathtaking. The breakfast was good the onset made greasy season juice and everything was warm and fresh. Overall great hospitality very recommended.

But a nice quite and friendly beautiful little Albergo with only 7 rooms. But if you meet Mateo and see the rooms you are back long time ago. Here is no speed like in Porto Venere. Time stood still here, but the view is the same of hundred years ago. And that is holiday for us. Maybe for you to? It is like the French say; Le Trouvaille! Your host is very helpful!!

The main attractions in Portovenere, including spectacular views over the sea from great historical buildings, are all within easy walking distance from this location. Recommended.

Best possible location but even better staff
Reviewed By kennyaberdeenWe stayed here for three nights and took advantage of the discounted underground parking a 5 minute walk away. The hotel is in the centre of everything in Portovenere with a 2 minute walk to the ferries and all the restaurants, shops and tourist information literally steps away. The hotel is very modern and spotlessly clean inside and historic outside. The rooms are compact but have everything. Beautiful breakfasts are served on an upper terrace with views of the busy tourist harbour and the sea. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly. We accidentally left some clothes behind and Deborah & Agnese had them forwarded to our home in Scotland.
