Reviewed By Yam0784We stayed here for 2 nights in the family room which was comfortable and cosy. One could see the snow laden mountains from the window on one side and lidder river on the other. Meals were provided and food was homely. The garden was super pretty. A big shoutout to the owner Mr Ibrahim who is friendly and ever-smiling. Personally, I feel the price of the rooms could be cheaper as the lodge is far from the main market. In general, Pahalgam taxi drivers try to fleece tourists which is quite annoying. An advice would be to go to Pahalgam from Srinagar on a prepaid taxi and not hire a taxi for the entire trip. Only local taxis are allowed in Pahalgam, so the other taxi is an absolute waste. Unfortunately, taxi drivers aren't helpful. I am hoping no one gets a rude taxi driver like we did. That was a big letdown of our trip.

Cozy, pretty and quiet place in Pahalgam
Reviewed By reviewschandreyiWhen we walked up the road towards Oswal Cottage, we couldn't believe our eyes. A pretty sight caught us as the beautiful pansies and daisies welcome us to the grounds. Oswal Cottage is a standalone house with multiple rooms overlooking the pine forests next to the property. We had the most pleasant stay here after spending a night at a terrible hotel in Pahalgam. The caretakers are on their feet for anything you need and made amazing kebabs for a bonfire night we requested for. Rooms are clean and linens are fresh, and the owner Suhaib makes sure you have a good time here. Their wifi is pretty strong too so you can catch up on work if needed. We didnt though :)

Great location, good room, very bad behaved staffs
Reviewed By littleprabinLocation is near the main market and the rooms are also very decent. The manager is well trained and speaks nicely to customers. The rest of the staffs are very bad behaved. The management must get them through some trainings to educate that customers doesn't mean only money. Before you leave the hotel they start asking for tips. And even when you give them 100 rs as tip they show a bad face as if you are doing a big mistake. The hotel restaurant is very bad maintained. We had breakfast included in the plan. After serving breakfast the cook was showing me the calculation of the money that we eat during breakfast and telling how its a loss business of including breakfast in the plan. Its very unacceptable. Management please look in to your staff behaviour.

Reviewed By surana_nalinVery good hotel Mr manzoor their front office manager took great care of us . Great Hospitality by their team and food was also good. Would recommend this hotel to travellers. Only one con is that it is little far from main city centre, otherwise team is quite helpful.

Freedom Palace is in such a quiet place and full of nature that I ended up staying here longer. It is placed in a very quiet area in the hills but in walking distance of the town but you can also hire a tuktuk out to get you up and down the hill throughout the non snow season if you don't like walking. Baba Bashir runs this small place and rents out for 300-600INDR, all with shared bathrooms....he will also cook you breakfast and dinner in the evening for extra.....and invite you for a chat. Set in beautiful surroundings and extremely quiet. The place can be hard to find so is best to ring Bashir so he can meet you in town to take you there. Rock bottom prices,beautiful views and very quiet. Baba Bashir will make you feel at home.

Bring your trout fish from the troutfarm below and ask Bashirji to make your yummy food or cook yourself. enjoy bonfire at night. Tents also available. Shepherd nayboors invite you for tea, nice hiking trails around. Best to stay few nights or more. We stayed 5 nights and had a great time. Call Bashirji 9419727384 or his son Musta 9622852265 to negotiate your stay. Recommended for simple and budget travellers, high maintainance tourists look for something else.

Reviewed By Sahni25The location of the hotel is just exceptionally good , just above the river . The rooms are very neat and tidy . The staff is very helpful and specially the owner Mr Ali is always on the upfront to help the guests . The best part is it’s away from the hustle . The market is just 5 minutes away. A must visit place for everyone.
