Belle Vallee is a 19th Century Maison d'Maitre set in 18 acres of private grounds. The rooms are all large, ensuite with unique bathrooms and with views over the gardens and valley. The house has a large lounge with open fire and paneled dining room. The gardens are beautifully presented and an ideal place to relax. Set only 5 minutes from the medieval town of Domfront. Classified as 4 epis. Dinner available by prior arrangement.
Richard and Victoria run one of the most amazing places to stay in Northern France. Their hospitality was amazing. We arrived by bike as a group of friends, and were immediately offered a drink sitting outside in the glorious garden. The accommodation was really comfortable, with large rooms. Dinner was provided in house, and was delicious, accompanied with some wine. Richard and Victoria have a lovely family too ! All in all they could not have made us more welcome. 6 star service. Thanks, and we look forward to returning soon.

In the heart of normandy at 50km of the seafront,a family who live here for 6 generations welcomes and advises you about the curiosities of the area. The suite and the breakfast are in the half-timbered manor (15th century) with its old pigeonhole. Gite and other rooms near, in a mansion (19th century). In the place nice garden and landscape for nice ballads, tasting in cellar (apple produces)and original spa (Spom).
Firstly I want to emphasise we were here for a wedding, and didn't intend on spending too much time in the establishment, having many friends to catch up with while we were in France, but we still very much enjoyed our stay. We stayed in Le Pigionnier. Part of the very old house. There was a more modern house across a very quiet road (where our parking was allocated). The points which, although didn't affect our enjoyment, may well be a consideration for other travellers, especially if you plan to spend longer hours here. There were no tea or coffee making facility in the room. This may be normal for French B & B though, so not so much a criticism as personal choice. There was a basic (although very tasty) breakfast of bread, cheese, yoghurt and assortment of jams. No cereal, fresh fruit, pastries or cold meats. The owners may have been able to provide a more extended breakfast menu, but we didn't need it, so didn't ask. There is no television, radio or clock in the room. The lighting is low, with none in the shower / sink room. Due to steps in the older house, it wouldn't be suitable for people with mobility issues. For these disabilities, the more modern house may be a better option. The hospitality of the owners was outstanding. Their knowledge of their home and local area was fabulous, and they were willing to share this with guests. The area, for us, was wonderful. The only noises were birdsong. True peace and quiet. The bed was wonderfully comfortable, and with small windows either end of the room, it enabled a cool, gentle breeze while outside it was a still 30 degrees! The grounds are large and very pretty. This really is a country retreat, so if tranquility is your thing, with mile after mile of French fields, then this is the ideal place. If you are looking for all mod cons, this may not be the place for you, but as a getaway from the rat race with basic provision from your B & B, it is ideal. A vehicle is a must.

We visited the Chambre d’hotes @ the end of august and had great time! The rooms were very clean and beautiful. The weather wasn’t that nice but in the evening we stayed in their very cozy living space with a big woodburning stove. The breakfast was very good and had everything we needed. But we definitly have to come back to try out their pancakes. Jean-Fred and Corrine were very nice people and are very helpful! The garden is very big and you have a nice cozy fire place outside. Also a nice heated swimmingpool but due to the weather we didn’t really spend time around it. Thanks for the great services and the nice stay. Your domain is very beautiful and clean. Keep up the good work. We went to relax en enjoy the silence and it couldn’t be better. Say hi to your doggy’s and the cats ☺️? Greeting from Joni, Stefanie, Benny and Ellen!

My teenage daughter and I were on a cycling trip and were looking for a meal and accomodation for the night. This place provided no frills, but plain and clean ensuite accomodation at a very reasonable price. Its not glitzy and definately not modern or high-tech. Rather its quite traditional in a good way, like a proper French hotel from the 1960s before the French hotel industry got infected by globalisation. The best bit was the food. Again really good traditional French country hotel fare. And the staff were great. Could not have been more helpful or welcoming. Price was very reasonable. This is a great little hotel and restaurant of the type that British tourists and travellers in France relied on and loved 50 years ago but which now seem increasingly rare.

We had a very 5-night relaxing stay at this beautiful Manoir. Annie is so attentive and caring, and respects our privacy at the same time. The breakfast was delicious and varied everyday. As a former chef, she has no doubt exceeded expectations by serving us with home made jams, juice and baked goods. The bedroom is spacious and the bed was nice and comfortable. We have access to the common kitchen to heat up food and have a cup of tea. We also enjoyed the outdoor seating area which was nice and serene. Argentan is easy to get to and has charming destinations nearby such at Camembert, Saint Cenrei le Gerei, Vire, Flers and Livarot. There are castles everywhere and amazing restaurants (including Michelin star ones). Thanks Annie and Patrick for making our stay so nice in Normandy!

Was expecting your typical European small-town 2-star hotel, but our room was unexpectedly spacious (free upgrade) and comfortable - dinner was modest but delicious and well-priced. Friendly staff - a pleasant stay.
